Isaïe 16
1 " Envoyez l'agneau du dominateur du pays, de Pétra, à travers le désert, à la montagne de la fille de Sion. "
Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, to the mount of the daughter of Zion.
2 Comme des oiseaux fugitifs, comme une nichée que l'on disperse, telles sont les filles de Moab, aux passages de l'Arnon:
For it shall be, [that], as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, [so] the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.
3 " Conseille-nous, sois notre arbitre; donne-nous l'ombre, comme dans la nuit, au milieu du jour; cache ceux que l'on poursuit, ne trahis point les fugitifs.
Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noon-day; hide the outcasts; discover not him that wandereth.
4 " Que les fugitifs de Moab demeurent chez toi; sois-leur une retraite contre le dévastateur; car l'invasion a cessé, la dévastation a pris fin, les oppresseurs ont disparu du pays.
Let my outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5 Le trône est affermi par la miséricorde, et sur ce trône s'assiéra selon la vérité, dans la tente de David, un juge poursuivant le droit, et zélé pour la justice. " —
And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
6 " Nous connaissons l'orgueil de Moab, le très orgueilleux, sa fierté et son orgueil, son arrogance et ses discours mensongers. "
We have heard of the pride of Moab; [he is] very proud: [even] of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: [but] his lies [shall] not [be] so.
7 Que Moab se lamente donc sur Moab; que tous se lamentent! Sur les gâteaux de raisins de Kir-Haréseth gémissez, tout consternés!
Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn; surely [they are] stricken.
8 Car les champs de Hésebon sont désolés; de la vigne de Sabama, les maîtres des nations ont détruit les treilles elles qui s'étendaient jusqu'à Jazer, allaient se perdre dans le désert, poussaient au loin leurs rejetons, passaient par delà la mer.
For the fields of Heshbon languish, [and] the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down her principal plants, they have come [even] to Jazer, they wandered [through] the wilderness: her branches are extended, they have gone over the sea.
9 C'est pourquoi je pleure, comme pleure Jazer, sur la vigne de Sabama; je vous arrose de mes larmes, Hésebon, Eléalé, car sur vos fruits et sur votre moisson; est venu fondre le cri du pressureur.
Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.
10 La joie et l'allégresse ont disparu des vergers; dans les vignes, plus de chants, plus de cris de joie; le vendangeur ne foule plus le vin dans les cuves; j'ai fait cesser le cri joyeux du pressureur.
And gladness is taken away, and joy from the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in [their] presses; I have made [their vintage] -shouting to cease.
11 Aussi mes entrailles, au sujet de Moab, frémissent comme une harpe, ainsi que mon cœur au sujet de Kir-Harès.
Wherefore my bowels shall sound like a harp for Moab, and my inward parts for Kir-haresh.
12 Et l'on verra Moab se fatiguer sur ses hauts-lieux; il entrera dans son sanctuaire pour prier, et il n'obtiendra rien.
And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
13 Tel est l'oracle que Yahweh a prononcé sur Moab depuis un long temps.
This [is] the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.
14 Et maintenant Yahweh parle et dit: " Dans trois ans, comptés comme les années d'un mercenaire, la gloire de Moab avec sa grande multitude sera avilie, et ce qui en restera sera peu de chose, petit et faible ".
But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant [shall be] very small [and] feeble.
