1 Voici le livre de l'histoire d'Adam. Lorsque Dieu créa Adam, il le fit à la ressemblance de Dieu.
This is the book of the generations of Adam. On the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him:
2 Il les créa mâle et femelle, et il les bénit, et il leur donna le nom d'Homme, lorsqu'ils furent créés.
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, on the day when they were created.
3 Adam vécut cent trente ans, et il engendra un fils à sa ressemblance, selon son image, et il lui donna le nom de Seth.
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his likeness, after his image; and called his name Sheth.
4 Les jours d'Adam, après qu'il eut engendré Seth, furent de huit cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Sheth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
5 Tout le temps qu'Adam vécut fut de neuf cent trente ans, et il mourut.
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
6 Seth vécut cent cinq ans, et il engendra Enos.
And Sheth lived a hundred and five years, and begat Enosh.
7 Après qu'il eut engendré Enos, Seth vécut huit cent sept ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Sheth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred and seven years; and he begat sons and daughters.
8 Tout le temps que Seth vécut fut de neuf cent douze ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Sheth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
9 Enos vécut quatre-vingt-dix ans, et il engendra Caïnan.
And Enosh lived ninety years, and begat Kenan.
10 Après qu'il eut engendré Caïnan, Enos vécut huit cent quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Enosh lived after he had begotten Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years; and he begat sons and daughters.
11 Tout le temps qu'Enos vécut fut de neuf cent cinq ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
12 Caïnan vécut soixante-dix ans, et il engendra Malaléel.
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalalel.
13 Après qu'il eut engendré Malaléel, Caïnan vécut huit cent quarante ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Kenan lived after he had begotten Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years; and he begat sons and daughters
14 Tout le temps que Caïnan vécut fut de neuf cent dix ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
15 Malaléel vécut soixante-cinq ans, et il engendra Jared.
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared.
16 Après qu'il eut engendré Jared, Malaléel vécut huit cent trente ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Mahalalel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred and thirty years; and he begat sons and daughters.
17 Tout le temps que Malaléel vécut fut de huit cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died.
18 Jared vécut cent soixante-deux ans, et il engendra Hénoch.
And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begat Enoch.
19 Après qu'il eut engendré Hénoch, Jared vécut huit cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
20 Tout le temps que Jared vécut fut de neuf cent soixante-deux ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died.
21 Hénoch vécut soixante-cinq ans, et il engendra Mathusalem.
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methushelah.
22 Après qu'il eut engendré Mathusalem, Hénoch marcha avec Dieu trois cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years; and begat sons and daughters.
23 Tout le temps qu'Hénoch vécut fut de trois cent soixante-cinq ans.
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years.
24 Hénoch marcha avec Dieu, et on ne le vit plus, car Dieu l'avait pris.
And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more; for God had taken him.
25 Mathusalem vécut cent quatre-vingt-sept ans, et il engendra Lamech.
And Methushelah lived a hundred eighty and seven years and begat Lemech.
26 Après qu'il eut engendré Lamech, Mathusalem vécut sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred eighty and two years; and he begat sons and daughters.
27 Tout le temps que Mathusalem vécut fut de neuf cent soixante-neuf ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.
28 Lamech vécut cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra un fils.
And Lemech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son.
29 Il lui donna le nom de Noé, en disant: " Celui-ci nous soulagera de nos fatigues et du travail pénible de nos mains, provenant de ce sol qu'a maudit Yahweh. "
And he called his name Noach, [[Noah, ]] saying, This one shall comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 Après qu'il eut engendré Noé, Lamech vécut cinq cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred ninety and five years; and begat sons and daughters.
31 Tout le temps que Lamech vécut fut de sept cent soixante-dix-sept ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred seventy and seven years; and he died.
32 Noé, âgé de cinq cents ans, engendra Sem, Cham et Japheth.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
