Ézéchiel 4

1 Toi, fils de l’homme, prends une brique, pose-la devant toi, et tu y dessineras une ville, Jérusalem.

Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it a city, even Jerusalem.

2 Mets le siège contre elle, construis contre elle une tour d’attaque, élève contre elle des terrasses: place contre elle des camps, et pose contre elle des béliers tout autour.

And lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it. Also set camps against it, and plant battering rams against it round about.

3 Et toi, prends une poêle en fer et place-la comme un mur de fer entre toi et la ville, et dirige ta face contre elle; elle sera assiégée et tu l’assiégeras. Que ce soit un signe pour la maison d’Israël!

And take thou to thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city. And set thy face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

4 Et toi, couche-toi sur ton côté gauche, et mets-y l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël; et le nombre de jours que tu resteras ainsi couché, tu porteras leur iniquité.

Moreover lie thou upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it. According to the number of the days that thou shall lie upon it, thou shall bear their iniquity.

5 Et moi, je t’ai compté les années de leur iniquité selon le nombre de jours: durant trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours, tu porteras l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël.

For I have appointed the years of their iniquity to be a number of days to thee, even three hundred and ninety days. So thou shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

6 Et quand tu auras achevé ces jours, tu te coucheras sur ton côté droit une seconde fois, et tu porteras l’iniquité de la maison de Juda, quarante jours; je t’ai compté un jour pour une année.

And again, when thou have accomplished these, thou shall lie on thy right side, and shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days, each day for a year. I have appointed it to thee.

7 Et tu dirigeras ta face et ton bras nu contre Jérusalem assiégée, et tu prophétiseras contre elle.

And thou shall set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with thine arm uncovered, and thou shall prophesy against it.

8 Et voici que j’ai mis sur toi des cordes, afin que tu ne puisses pas te tourner d’un côté sur l’autre, jusqu’à ce que tu aies accompli les jours de ton siège.

And, behold, I lay bands upon thee, and thou shall not turn thee from one side to the other, till thou have accomplished the days of thy siege.

9 Prends du froment, de l’orge, des fèves, des lentilles, du millet et de l’épeautre; mets-les dans un vase et fais-en du pain pour toi, selon le nombre de jours que tu seras couché sur ton côté; tu en mangeras trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours.

Also take thou to thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread of it, according to the number of the days that thou shall lie upon thy side, even three hundred and ninety days, thou shall eat of it.

10 Et la nourriture que tu mangeras sera du poids de vingt sicles par jour; tu en mangeras de temps en temps.

And thy food which thou shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day. Thou shall eat it from time to time.

11 Tu boiras de l’eau par petite quantité, un sixième de hin; tu en boiras de temps en temps.

And thou shall drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin. Thou shall drink from time to time.

12 Tu mangeras cela sous la forme de galettes d’orge, et tu le feras cuire sous leurs yeux avec des excréments d’homme. »

And thou shall eat it as barley cakes, and thou shall bake it in their sight with dung that comes out of man.

13 Et Yahweh me dit: « C’est ainsi que les enfants d’Israël mangeront leur pain souillé chez les nations où je les chasserai. »

And Jehovah said, Even thus shall the sons of Israel eat their bread unclean among the nations where I will drive them.

14 Je dis: « Ah! Seigneur Yahweh, voici que mon âme n’a jamais été souillée; je n’ai pas mangé d’une bête morte ou déchirée depuis ma jeunesse jusqu’à présent, et aucune chair souillée n’est entrée dans ma bouche. »

Then I said, Ah lord Jehovah! Behold, my soul has not been polluted. For from my youth up even till now I have not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn of beasts, neither has abominable flesh come into my mouth.

15 Il me dit: « Vois, je t’accorde de la fiente de bétail au lieu d’excréments d’homme, et tu feras cuire ton pain dessus. »

Then he said to me, See, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shall prepare thy bread of it.

16 Et il me dit: « Fils de l’homme, voici que je vais briser le bâton du pain dans Jérusalem; ils mangeront du pain au poids et dans l’angoisse; ils boiront de l’eau à la mesure et dans l’épouvante.

Moreover he said to me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they shall eat bread by weight, and with fearfulness, and they shall drink water by measure, and in dismay,

17 Car ils manqueront de pain et d’eau; ils dépériront les uns et les autres, et se consumeront à cause de leur iniquité.

that they may lack bread and water, and be dismayed one with another, and pine away in their iniquity.
