Deutéronome 27
1 Moïse, avec les anciens d’Israël, donna cet ordre au peuple: « Observez tout le commandement que je vous prescris aujourd’hui.
And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.
2 Lorsque vous aurez passé le Jourdain pour entrer dans le pays que te donne Yahweh, ton Dieu, tu dresseras de grandes pierres et tu les enduiras de chaux,
And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over the Jordan to the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee, that thou shall set up for thee great stones, and plaster them with plaster.
3 et tu écriras dessus toutes les paroles de cette loi, après ton passage, afin que tu entres dans le pays que Yahweh, ton Dieu, te donne, pays où coulent le lait et le miel, comme te l’a dit Yahweh, le Dieu de tes pères.
And thou shall write upon them all the words of this law when thou have passed over, that thou may go in to the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, has promised thee.
4 Lors donc que vous aurez passé le Jourdain, vous dresserez sur le mont Hébal ces pierres que je vous prescris aujourd’hui, et tu les enduiras de chaux.
And it shall be, when ye have passed over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shall plaster them with plaster.
5 Et tu bâtiras là un autel à Yahweh, un autel de pierres sur lesquelles tu ne porteras pas le fer.
And there thou shall build an altar to Jehovah thy God, an altar of stones. Thou shall lift up no iron upon them.
6 Tu bâtiras en pierres brutes l’autel de Yahweh, ton Dieu. Et tu offriras dessus des holocaustes à Yahweh, ton Dieu;
Thou shall build the altar of Jehovah thy God of unhewn stones. And thou shall offer burnt offerings on it to Jehovah thy God.
7 tu offriras des sacrifices pacifiques, et tu mangeras là et tu te réjouiras devant Yahweh, ton Dieu.
And thou shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there, and thou shall rejoice before Jehovah thy God.
8 Tu écriras sur ces pierres toutes les paroles de cette loi en caractères bien nets. »
And thou shall write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
9 Moïse et les prêtres lévitiques parlèrent à tout Israël, en disant: « Garde le silence et écoute, ô Israël! Aujourd’hui tu es devenu le peuple de Yahweh, ton Dieu.
And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, Keep silence, and hearken, O Israel. This day thou have become the people of Jehovah thy God.
10 Tu obéiras donc à la voix de Yahweh, ton Dieu, et tu mettras en pratique ses commandements et ses lois, que je te prescris aujourd’hui. »
Thou shall therefore obey the voice of Jehovah thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
11 Le même jour, Moïse donna cet ordre au peuple:
And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
12 « Lorsque vous aurez passé le Jourdain, ceux-ci se tiendront sur le mont Garizim, pour bénir le peuple: Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issachar, Joseph et Benjamin.
These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye have passed over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.
13 Et ceux-là se tiendront sur le mont Hébal pour la malédiction: Ruben, Gad, Aser, Zabulon, Dan et Nephthali.
And these shall stand upon mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14 Et les Lévites prendront la parole et diront d’une voix haute à tous les hommes d’Israël:
And the Levites shall answer, and say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15 Maudit soit l’homme qui fait une image taillée ou une image de fonte, abomination de Yahweh, œuvre des mains d’un artisan, et qui la place dans un lieu secret! — Et tout le peuple répondra et dira: Amen!
Cursed be the man who makes a graven or molten image, an abomination to Jehovah, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret. And all the people shall answer and say, Truly.
16 Maudit soit celui qui méprise son père et sa mère! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Truly.
17 Maudit soit celui qui déplace la borne de son prochain! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who removes his neighbor's landmark. And all the people shall say, Truly.
18 Maudit soit celui qui fait égarer un aveugle dans le chemin! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who makes the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Truly.
19 Maudit soit celui qui viole le droit de l’étranger, de l’orphelin et de la veuve! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who distorts the justice to the sojourner, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Truly.
20 Maudit soit celui qui couche avec la femme de son père, car il soulève la couverture de son père! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Truly.
21 Maudit soit celui qui couche avec une bête quelconque! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who lies with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Truly.
22 Maudit soit celui qui couche avec sa sœur, fille de son père ou fille de sa mère! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Truly.
23 Maudit soit celui qui couche avec sa belle-mère! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say, Truly.
24 Maudit soit celui qui frappe en secret son prochain! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who smites his neighbor in secret. And all the people shall say, Truly.
25 Maudit soit celui qui reçoit un présent pour frapper une vie, répandre le sang innocent! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed be he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent man. And all the people shall say, Truly.
26 Maudit soit celui qui ne maintient pas les paroles de cette loi, en les mettant en pratique! — Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
Cursed is every man who does not continue in all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Truly.
