Deutéronome 23
1 Celui dont les testicules ont été écrasés ou dont l’urètre a été coupé n’entrera pas dans l’assemblée de Yahweh.
A geldyng whanne hise stoonys ben brokun, ethir kit awey, and his yerde is kit awei, schal not entre in to the chirche of the Lord.
2 Le fruit d’une union illicite n’entrera pas dans l’assemblée de Yahweh; même sa dixième génération n’entrera pas dans l’assemblée de Yahweh.
A child borun of hordom schal not entre in to the chirche of the Lord, `til to the tenthe generacioun.
3 L’Ammonite et le Moabite n’entreront pas dans l’assemblée de Yahweh; même la dixième génération n’entrera pas dans l’assemblée de Yahweh, ils n’y entreront jamais,
Ammonytis and Moabitis, yhe aftir the tenthe generacioun, schulen not entre into the `chirche of the Lord with outen ende;
4 parce qu’ils ne sont pas venu au-devant de vous avec du pain et de l’eau, sur le chemin, lorsque vous sortiez d’Égypte, et parce que le roi de Moab a fait venir contre toi à prix d’argent Balaam, fils de Béor, de Péthor en Mésopotamie, pour te maudire.
for thei nolden come to you with breed and watir in the weie, whanne ye yeden out of Egipt; and for thei hireden ayens thee Balaam, the sone of Beor, fro Mesopotanye of Sirye, that he schulde curse thee;
5 Mais Yahweh, ton Dieu, n’a pas voulu écouter Balaam, et Yahweh, ton Dieu, a changé pour toi la malédiction en bénédiction, car Yahweh, ton Dieu, t’aime.
and thi Lord God nolde here Balaam, and God turnede `the cursyng of Balaam in to thi blessyng, for he louyde thee.
6 Tu n’auras souci ni de leur prospérité ni de leur bien-être, tant que tu vivras, à perpétuité.
Thou schalt not make pees with hem, nethir thou schalt seke goodis to hem, in alle the daies of thi lijf in to with outen ende.
7 Tu n’auras point en abomination l’Edomite, car il est ton frère; tu n’auras point en abomination l’Égyptien, car tu as été étranger dans son pays:
Thou schalt not `haue abhomynacioun of a man of Ydumye, for he is thi brothir, nethir of a man of Egipt, for thou were a comelyng in the lond of hym.
8 les fils qui leur naîtront pourront, à la troisième génération, entrer dans l’assemblée de Yahweh.
Thei that ben borun of hem, schulen entre in the thridde generacioun in to the `chirche of the Lord.
9 Quand tu marcheras en campements contre tes ennemis, garde-toi de toute chose mauvaise.
Whanne thou schalt go out `in to batel ayens thin enemyes, thou schalt kepe thee fro al yuel thing.
10 S’il y a chez toi un homme qui ne soit pas pur, par suite d’un accident nocturne, il sortira du camp, et ne rentrera pas au milieu du camp;
If a man is among you, which is defoulid in `sleep of nyyt, he schal go out of `the castels;
11 sur le soir, il se baignera dans l’eau et, après le coucher du soleil, il pourra rentrer au milieu du camp.
and he schal not turne ayen bifore that he be waischun in watir at euentid, and aftir the goyng doun of the sunne he schal go ayen in to the castels.
12 Tu auras un lieu hors du camp, et c’est là dehors que tu iras.
Thou schalt haue a place without the castels, to which thou schalt go out to nedeful thingis of kynde;
13 Tu auras dans ton bagage une pelle avec laquelle tu feras un creux, quand tu iras t’asseoir à l’écart, et, en partant, tu recouvriras tes excréments.
and thou schalt bere a litil stake in the girdil; and whanne thou hast sete, thou schalt digge `bi cumpas, and `thou schalt hile with erthe thingis `defied out,
14 Car Yahweh, ton Dieu, marche au milieu de ton camp, pour te protéger et pour livrer tes ennemis devant toi; ton camp doit donc être saint, afin que Yahweh ne voie chez toi rien de malséant et qu’il ne se détourne pas de toi.
where thou art releuyd. For thi Lord God goeth in the myddis of castels, that he diliuere thee, and bitake thin enemyes to thee, that thi castels be hooli, and no thing of filthe appere in tho, lest he forsake thee.
15 Tu ne livreras pas à son maître un esclave qui se sera enfui d’avec son maître et réfugié auprès de toi.
Thou schalt not bitake a seruaunt to his lord, which seruaunt fleeth to thee;
16 Il demeurera avec toi, au milieu de ton pays, dans le lieu qu’il choisira, dans l’une de tes villes, où il se trouvera bien: tu ne l’opprimeras point.
he schal dwelle with thee in the place that plesith hym, and he schal reste in oon of thi citees; and make thou not hym sori.
17 Il n’y aura point de prostituée parmi les filles d’Israël, et il n’y aura point de prostitué parmi les fils d’Israël.
Noon hoore schal be of the douytris of Israel, nether a letchour of the sones of Israel.
18 Tu n’apporteras pas dans la maison de Yahweh, ton Dieu, le salaire d’une prostituée ni le salaire d’un chien, pour l’accomplissement d’un vœu quelconque; car l’un et l’autre sont en abomination à Yahweh, ton Dieu.
Thou schalt not offre the hire of `an hoore hows, nether the prijs of a dogge, in the hows of thi Lord God, what euer thing it is that thou hast avowid; for euer eithir is abhomynacioun bifor thi Lord God.
19 Tu n’exigeras de ton frère aucun intérêt ni pour argent, ni pour vivres, ni pour aucune chose qui se prête à intérêt.
Thou schalt not leene to thi brothir to vsure money, neither fruytis,
20 Tu peux exiger un intérêt de l’étranger, mais tu n’en tireras point de ton frère, afin que Yahweh, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans tout ce que tu entreprendras, dans le pays où tu vas entrer pour le posséder.
nethir ony othir thing, but to an alien. Forsothe thou schalt leene to thi brothir without vsure that that he nedith, that thi Lord God blesse thee in al thi werk, in the lond to which thou schalt entre to welde.
21 Quand tu auras fait un vœu à Yahweh, ton Dieu, tu ne tarderas point à l’accomplir; sinon, Yahweh, ton Dieu, t’en demanderait certainement compte, et tu serais chargé d’un péché.
Whanne thou makist auow to thi Lord God, thou schalt not tarie to yelde, for thi Lord God schal `requyre, ether axe, that; and if thou tariest, it schal be arretid to thee in to synne.
22 Si tu t’abstiens de faire des vœux, il n’y aura pas en toi de péché.
If thou `nylt bihete, thou schalt be with out synne.
23 Mais la parole sortie de tes lèvres, tu la garderas et l’accompliras, selon le vœu que tu auras fait librement à Yahweh, ton Dieu, et que tu auras prononcé de ta bouche.
Forsothe thou schalt kepe, and `do that that yede out onys of thi lippis, as thou bihiytist to thi Lord God, and hast spoke with thin owne wille and thi mouth.
24 Quand tu entreras dans la vigne de ton prochain, tu pourras manger des raisins selon ton désir et t’en rassasier, mais tu n’en mettras pas dans ton panier.
If thou entrist in to the vynere of thi neiybore, ete thou grapis, as myche as plesith thee; but bere thou not out with thee.
25 Si tu entres dans les blés de ton prochain, tu pourras cueillir des épis avec la main, mais tu ne mettras pas la faucille dans les blés de ton prochain.
If thou entrist in to `the corn of thi freend, thou schalt breke `eeris of corn, and frote togidere with `the hond; but thou schalt not repe with a sikil.
