Amos 5
1 Écoutez cette parole, que je profère sur vous, — une lamentation, — maison d’Israël:
Here ye this word, for Y reise on you a weilyng.
2 Elle est tombée, elle ne se relèvera plus, la vierge d’Israël! Elle est renversée sur sa terre, personne ne la relèvera.
The hous of Israel felle doun, he schal not put to, that it rise ayen; the virgyn of Israel is cast doun in to hir lond, noon is that schal reise hir.
3 Car ainsi parle Yahweh: La ville qui se mettait en campagne avec mille guerriers en gardera cent; celle qui se mettait en campagne avec cent en gardera dix, pour la maison d’Israël.
For the Lord God seith these thingis, The citee of which a thousynde wenten out, an hundrid schulen be left ther ynne; and of which an hundrid wenten out, ten schulen be left ther ynne, in the hous of Israel.
4 Car ainsi parle Yahweh à la maison d’Israël: Cherchez-moi et vivez!
For the Lord seith these thingis to the hous of Israel, Seke ye me, and ye schulen lyue;
5 Ne cherchez pas Béthel, ne venez pas à Galgala, ne passez pas à Bersabée! Car Galgala sera emmené captif, et Béthel deviendra néant.
and nyle ye seke Bethel, and nyle ye entre in to Galgala, and ye schulen not passe to Bersabee; for whi Galgal schal be led caitif, and Bethel schal be vnprofitable.
6 Cherchez Yahweh et vivez, de peur qu’il ne fonde, comme un feu, sur la maison de Joseph, et ne la dévore, sans que Béthel ait personne pour éteindre.
Seke ye the Lord, and lyue ye, lest perauenture the hous of Joseph be brent as fier; and it schal deuoure Bethel, and there schal not be, that schal quenche.
7 Ils changent le droit en absinthe, et jettent à terre la justice!
Whiche conuerten doom in to wermod, and forsaken riytwisnesse in the lond,
8 Il a fait les Pléiades et Orion; il change en aurore les ténèbres, et le jour en une nuit obscure; il appelle les eaux de la mer, et les répand sur la face de la terre; Yahweh est son nom.
and forsaken hym that makith Arture and Orion, and hym that turneth derknessis in to the morewtid, and him that chaungith dai in to niyt; which clepith watris of the see, and heldith out hem on the face of erthe; the Lord is name of hym.
9 Il fait éclater la ruine sur le puissant, et la ruine fond sur la ville forte.
Which scorneth distriyng on the stronge, and bringith robbyng on the myyti.
10 Ils haïssent à la Porte celui qui censure; et celui qui parle avec intégrité, ils l’ ont en horreur.
Thei hatiden a man repreuynge in the yate, and thei wlatiden a man spekynge perfitli.
11 C’est pourquoi, parce que vous foulez aux pieds le pauvre, et que vous prélevez sur lui un tribut de blé; vous avez bâti des maisons en pierres de taille, et vous n’y habiterez pas, vous avez planté des vignes excellentes, et vous n’en boirez pas le vin.
Therfor for that that ye robbiden a pore man, and token fro hym the chosun prey, ye schulen bilde housis with square stoon, and ye schulen not dwelle in hem; ye schulen plaunte moost louyd vyneyerdis, and ye schulen not drynke the wyn of hem.
12 Car je sais que nombreux sont vos crimes, que grands sont vos péchés, vous qui opprimez le juste, qui prenez des présents, et qui faites fléchir le droit des pauvres à la Porte.
For Y knew youre grete trespassis many, and youre stronge synnes; enemyes of `the riytwis man, takynge yifte, and berynge doun pore men in the yate.
13 C’est pourquoi l’homme sage, en ce temps-ci, se tait; car c’est un temps mauvais.
Therfor a prudent man schal be stille in that time, for the time is yuel.
14 Cherchez le bien et non le mal, afin que vous viviez, et qu’ainsi Yahweh, le Dieu des armées, soit avec vous, comme vous le dites.
Seke ye good, and not yuel, that ye lyue, and the Lord God of oostis schal be with you, as ye seiden.
15 Haïssez le mal et aimez le bien, et restaurez le droit à la Porte: peut-être Yahweh, le Dieu des armées, aura-t-il pitié du reste de Joseph!
Hate ye yuel, and loue ye good, and ordeyne ye in the gate doom; if perauenture the Lord God of oostis haue merci on the remenauntis of Joseph.
16 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle Yahweh, le Dieu des armées, le Seigneur: Dans toutes les places, on se lamentera; dans toutes les rues on dira: Hélas! hélas! On appellera le laboureur au deuil, et aux lamentations, avec ceux qui savent gémir.
Therfor the Lord God of oostis, hauynge lordschipe, seith these thingis, Weilyng schal be in alle stretis, and in alle thingis that ben withoutforth it schal be seid, Wo! wo! and thei schulen clepe an erthe tilier to mourenyng, and hem that kunnen weile, to weilyng.
17 Dans toutes les vignes on se lamentera; car je passerai au milieu de toi, dit Yahweh.
And weilyng schal be in alle weies, for Y schal passe forth in the myddil of `the see, seith the Lord.
18 Malheur à ceux qui désirent le jour de Yahweh! Que sera-t-il pour vous, le jour de Yahweh? Il sera ténèbres, et non lumière.
Wo to hem that desiren the dai of the Lord; wher to desiren ye it to you? This dai of the Lord schal be derknessis, and not liyt.
19 Comme un homme qui s’enfuit devant le lion, et l’ours vient à sa rencontre; il entre dans sa maison, appuie sa main sur le mur, et le serpent le mord!…
As if a man renne fro the face of a lioun, and a bere renne to hym; and he entre in to the hous, and lene with his hond on the wal, and a serpent dwellynge in schadewe bite hym.
20 N’est-il pas ténèbres, le jour de Yahweh, et non lumière, obscurité, sans aucun éclat?
Whether the dai of the Lord schal not be derknessis, and not liyt; and myist, and not schynyng ther ynne?
21 Je hais, je dédaigne vos fêtes, je n’ai aucun goût à vos assemblées.
Y hatide and castide awei youre feeste daies, and Y schal not take the odour of youre cumpenyes.
22 Si vous m’offrez vos holocaustes et vos oblations, je n’y prends pas plaisir, et vos sacrifices de veaux engraissés, je ne les regarde pas.
That if ye offren to me youre brent sacrifices, and yiftis, Y schal not resseyue, and Y schal not biholde avowis of youre fatte thingis.
23 Éloigne de moi le bruit de tes cantiques; que je n’entende pas le son de tes harpes!
Do thou awei fro me the noise of thi songis, and Y schal not here the songis of thin harpe.
24 Mais que le jugement coule comme l’eau, et la justice comme un torrent qui ne tarit pas!
And doom schal be schewid as watir, and riytfulnesse as a strong streem.
25 Des sacrifices et des oblations m’en avez-vous offert, dans le désert pendant quarante ans, maison d’Israël?
Whether ye, the hous of Israel, offriden to me sacrifices for enemyes to be ouercomun, and sacrifice in desert fourti yeeris?
26 Vous avez porté la tente de votre roi, et Kijoum, vos idoles, l’étoile de votre dieu, que vous vous êtes fabriqué.
And ye han bore tabernaclis to Moloch, youre god, and ymage of youre idols, the sterre of youre god, which ye maden to you.
27 Je vous déporterai par delà Damas, dit Yahweh; Dieu des armées est son nom.
And Y schal make you for to passe ouer Damask, seide the Lord; God of oostis is the name of him.
