2 Chroniques 31
1 Lorsque tout cela fut terminé, tous ceux d'Israël qui se trouvaient là partirent pour les villes de Juda, et ils brisèrent les stèles, coupèrent les aschérahs, et renversèrent les hauts lieux et les autels dans tout Juda et Benjamin, et dans Ephraïm et Manassé, jusqu'à complète destruction. Puis tous les enfants d'Israël retournèrent dans leurs villes, chacun dans son domaine.
Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, also in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the sons of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
2 Ezéchias établit les divisions des prêtres et des lévites d'après leurs classes, — chacun des prêtres et des lévites selon ses fonctions, — pour les holocaustes et les sacrifices pacifiques, pour le service du culte, pour les chants et les louanges, aux portes du camp de Yahweh.
And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Jehovah.
3 Il fournit aussi de ses biens la portion du roi pour les holocaustes, pour les holocaustes du matin et du soir et pour les holocaustes des sabbats, des nouvelles lunes et des fêtes, comme il est écrit dans la loi de Yahweh.
Also he appointed the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, namely, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of Jehovah.
4 Et il dit au peuple qui habitait Jérusalem de donner la portion des prêtres et des lévites, afin qu'ils s'attachassent fortement à la loi de Yahweh.
Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of Jehovah.
5 Lorsque cet ordre fut répandu, les enfants d'Israël offrirent en abondance les prémices du blé, du vin nouveau, de l'huile, du miel et de tous les produits des champs; ils apportèrent aussi en abondance la dîme de tout.
And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the sons of Israel gave in abundance the first-fruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field. And they brought in the tithe of all things abundantly.
6 Les enfants d'Israël et de Juda qui demeuraient dans les villes de Juda donnèrent, eux aussi, la dîme des bœufs et des brebis, et la dîme des choses saintes qui étaient consacrées à Yahweh, leur Dieu, et l'on en fit plusieurs tas.
And the sons of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of dedicated things which were consecrated to Jehovah their God, and laid them by heaps.
7 On commença à former les tas au troisième mois, et on les acheva au septième mois.
In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
8 Ezéchias et les chefs vinrent et, ayant vu les tas, ils bénirent Yahweh et son peuple d'Israël.
And when Hezekiah and the rulers came and saw the heaps, they blessed Jehovah, and his people Israel.
9 Et Ezéchias interrogea les prêtres et les lévites au sujet de ces tas.
Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
10 Le grand prêtre Azarias, de la maison de Sadoc, lui répondit: " Depuis qu'on a commencé d'apporter les dons prélevés dans la maison de Yahweh, nous avons mangé, nous nous sommes rassasiés, et nous en avons laissé beaucoup, car Yahweh a béni son peuple, et le reste est cette grande quantité. "
And Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, Since they began to bring the oblations into the house of Jehovah, we have eaten and had enough, and have plenty left. For Jehovah has blessed his people, and that which is left is this great store.
11 Ezéchias dit de préparer des chambres dans la maison de Yahweh, et on les prépara.
Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of Jehovah, and they prepared them.
12 On y apporta fidèlement les dons prélevés, la dîme et les choses consacrées. Le lévite Chonénias en eut l'intendance, et Sémei, son frère, venait en second.
And they brought in the oblations and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully. And Conaniah the Levite was ruler over them, and Shimei his brother was second.
13 Jahiel, Azarias, Nahath, Asaël, Jérimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Jesmachias, Mahath et Banaïas étaient surveillants sous l'autorité de Chonénias et de son frère Séméi, d'après la disposition du roi Ezéchias et d'Azarias, chef de la maison de Dieu.
And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.
14 Le lévite Coré, fils de Jemma, qui était portier à l'orient, était préposé aux dons volontaires faits à Dieu, pour distribuer ce qui était prélevé pour Yahweh et les choses très saintes.
And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of Jehovah, and the most holy things.
15 A sa disposition se tenaient fidèlement, dans les villes des prêtres, Eden, Benjamin, Jésué, Séméias, Amarias et Sèchénias, pour faire les distributions à leurs frères, grands et petits, selon leurs classes:
And under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, as well to the great as to the small,
16 excepté aux mâles enregistrés, de trois ans et au-dessus, à tous ceux qui entraient dans la maison de Yahweh, selon le besoin de chaque jour, pour faire leur service selon leurs fonctions et leurs classes.
besides those who were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even everyone that entered into the house of Jehovah, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their divisions,
17 Le registre des prêtres était dressé d'après leurs maisons paternelles, et les lévites étaient inscrits à partir de vingt ans et au-dessus, selon leurs fonctions et leurs classes.
and those who were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers' houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their divisions,
18 Le registre comprenait tous leurs enfants, leurs femmes, leurs fils et leurs filles. toute l'assemblée; car dans leur fidélité ils s'occupaient saintement des saintes offrandes.
and those who were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation. For in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.
19 Et pour les fils d'Aaron, les prêtres qui demeuraient dans le territoire de la banlieue de leurs villes, il y avait dans chaque ville des hommes désignés par leurs noms pour distribuer les portions à tout mâle parmi les prêtres et à tous les lévites inscrits.
Also for the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, there were men who were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all who were reckoned by genealogy among the Levites.
20 Voilà ce que fit Ezéchias dans tout Juda; il fit ce qui est bon, ce qui est droit et ce qui est vrai devant Yahweh, son Dieu.
And thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah. And he wrought that which was good and right and faithful before Jehovah his God.
21 Dans toute œuvre qu'il entreprit pour le service de la maison de Dieu, pour la loi et les commandements, en recherchant son Dieu, il agit de tout son cœur et il prospéra.
And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
