1 Chroniques 22
1 Et David dit: « C’est ici la maison de Yahweh Dieu, et c’est l’autel pour les holocaustes d’Israël. »
And Dauid saide, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for the burnt offring of Israel.
2 David ordonna de rassembler les étrangers qui étaient dans le pays d’Israël, et il établit des tailleurs de pierre pour couper des pierres de taille pour la construction de la maison de Dieu.
And Dauid commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, and he set masons to hewe and polish stones to builde the house of God.
3 David prépara aussi du fer en quantité, pour les clous des battants des portes et pour les crampons, ainsi que de l’airain en quantité incalculable,
Dauid also prepared much yron for the nayles of the doores and of the gates, and for the ioynings, and abundance of brasse passing weight,
4 et des bois de cèdre sans nombre; car les Sidoniens et les Tyriens avaient amené à David des bois de cèdre en abondance.
And cedar trees without nomber: for the Zidonians and they of Tyrus brought much cedar wood to Dauid.
5 David disait: « Mon fils Salomon est jeune et faible, et la maison qui sera bâtie à Yahweh doit être magnifique à l’excès, afin d’être renommée et glorieuse dans tous les pays; je veux donc faire pour lui des préparatifs. » Et David fit beaucoup de préparatifs avant sa mort.
And Dauid saide, Salomon my sonne is yong and tender, and we must builde an house for the Lord, magnificall, excellent and of great fame and dignitie throughout all countreyes. I will therefore nowe prepare for him. So Dauid prepared very much before his death.
6 David appela Salomon, son fils, et lui ordonna de bâtir une maison à Yahweh, le Dieu d’Israël.
Then he called Salomon his sonne, and charged him to builde an house for the Lord God of Israel.
7 David dit à Salomon: « Mon fils, j’avais l’intention de bâtir une maison au nom de Yahweh, mon Dieu.
And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lord my God,
8 Mais la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes: Tu as versé du sang en quantité et tu as fait de grandes guerres; tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, car tu as versé devant moi beaucoup de sang sur la terre.
But the worde of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed much blood, and hast made great battels: thou shalt not builde an house vnto my Name: for thou hast shead much blood vpon the earth in my sight.
9 Voici, il te naîtra un fils qui sera un homme tranquille, je lui donnerai du repos devant tous ses ennemis d’alentour; car Salomon sera son nom, et je donnerai en Israël la paix et la tranquillité pendant sa vie.
Beholde, a sonne is borne to thee, which shalbe a man of rest, for I will giue him rest from all his enemies rounde about: therefore his name is Salomon: and I will sende peace and quietnes vpon Israel in his dayes.
10 Ce sera lui qui bâtira une maison à mon nom; il sera pour moi un fils, et je serai pour lui un père, et j’affermirai pour toujours le trône de sa royauté sur Israël.
Hee shall builde an house for my Name, and he shalbe my sonne, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdome vpon Israel for euer.
11 Maintenant, mon fils, que Yahweh soit avec toi, afin que tu prospères et que tu bâtisses la maison de Yahweh, ton Dieu, selon ce qu’il a dit de toi.
Nowe therefore my sonne, the Lord shalbe with thee, and thou shalt prosper, and thou shalt builde an house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.
12 Daigne seulement Yahweh t’accorder la prudence et l’intelligence, quand il te donnera autorité sur Israël, afin que tu observes la loi de Yahweh, ton Dieu!
Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.
13 Alors tu prospéreras, si tu prends soin de mettre en pratique les lois et les ordonnances que Yahweh a prescrites à Moïse pour Israël. Sois fort, et prends courage; ne crains point et ne t’effraie point.
Then thou shalt prosper, if thou take heede to obserue the statutes and the iudgements which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel: be strong and of good courage: feare not, neither bee afraide.
14 Voici que par mes efforts, j’ai préparé pour la maison de Yahweh cent mille talents d’or, un million de talents d’argent; quant à l’airain et au fer, on ne saurait les peser, car il y en a en quantité; j’ai aussi préparé du bois et des pierres, et tu en ajouteras encore.
For beholde, according to my pouertie haue I prepared for the house of the Lord an hundreth thousand talents of golde, and a thousand thousande talents of siluer, and of brasse and of yron passing weight: for there was abundance: I haue also prepared timber and stone, and thou mayest prouide more thereto.
15 Tu as avec toi en multitude des ouvriers, des tailleurs de pierres, des artisans de la pierre et du bois et des hommes habiles dans toute espèce d’ouvrages.
Moreouer thou hast workmen with thee enough, hewers of stone, and workemen for timber, and all men expert in euery worke.
16 L’or, l’argent, l’airain et le fer sont sans nombre. Lève-toi! À l’œuvre! et que Yahweh soit avec toi! »
Of golde, of siluer, and of brasse, and of yron there is no nomber: Vp therefore, and be doing, and the Lord wilbe with thee.
17 David ordonna à tous les chefs d’Israël de venir en aide à Salomon, son fils, en disant:
Dauid also commanded all the princes of Israel to helpe Salomon his sonne, saying,
18 « Yahweh, votre Dieu, n’est-il pas avec vous, et ne vous a-t-il pas donné du repos de tous côtés? Car il a livré entre mes mains les habitants du pays, et le pays est assujetti devant Yahweh et devant son peuple.
Is not the Lord your God with you, and hath giuen you rest on euerie side? for hee hath giuen the inhabitants of the land into mine hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before his people.
19 Maintenant, appliquez votre cœur et votre âme à chercher Yahweh, votre Dieu; levez-vous et bâtissez le sanctuaire de Yahweh Dieu, afin d’amener l’arche de l’alliance de Yahweh et les saints ustensiles de Dieu dans la maison qui sera bâtie au nom de Yahweh. »
Nowe set your hearts and your soules to seeke the Lord your God, and arise, and builde the Sanctuarie of the Lord God to bring the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God into the house built for the Name of the Lord.
