Psaumes 81
1 Au maître de chant. Sur la Gitthienne. D’Asaph. Chantez avec allégresse en l’honneur de Dieu, notre force; poussez des cris de joie en l’honneur du Dieu de Jacob!
For the end, a Psalm for Asaph, concerning the wine-presses. Rejoice ye in God our helper; shout aloud to the God of Jacob.
2 Entonnez l’hymne, au son du tambourin, de la harpe harmonieuse et du luth!
Take a psalm, and produce the timbrel, the pleasant psaltery with the harp.
3 Sonnez de la trompette à la nouvelle lune, à la pleine lune, pour le jour de notre fête.
Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.
4 Car c’est un précepte pour Israël, une ordonnance du Dieu de Jacob.
For [this] is an ordinance for Israel, and a statute of the God of Jacob.
5 Il en fit une loi pour Joseph, quand il marcha contre le pays d’Égypte. J’entends une voix qui m’est inconnue:
He made it [to be] a testimony in Joseph, when he came forth out of the land of Egypt: he heard a language which he understood not.
6 « J’ai déchargé son épaule du fardeau, et ses mains ont quitté la corbeille.
He removed his back from burdens: his hands slaved in making the baskets.
7 Tu as crié dans la détresse, et je t’ai délivré; je t’ai répondu du sein de la nuée orageuse; je t’ai éprouvé aux eaux de Mériba. — Séla.
Thou didst call upon me in trouble, and I delivered thee; I heard thee in the secret place of the storm: I proved thee at the water of Strife. (Pause)
8 « Ecoute, mon peuple, je veux te donner un avertissement; Israël, puisses-tu m’écouter!
Hear, my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel; and I will testify to thee: if thou wilt hearken to me;
9 Qu’il n’y ait pas au milieu de toi de dieu étranger: n’adore pas le dieu d’un autre peuple.
there shall be no new god in thee; neither shalt thou worship a strange god.
10 « C’est moi, Yahweh, ton Dieu, qui t’ai fait monter du pays d’Égypte. Ouvre la bouche, et je la remplirai.
For I am the Lord thy God, that brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 « Mais mon peuple n’a pas écouté ma voix, Israël ne m’a pas obéi.
But my people hearkened not to my voice; and Israel gave no heed to me.
12 Alors je l’ai abandonné à l’endurcissement de son cœur, et ils ont suivi leurs propres conseils.
So I let them go after the ways of their own hearts: they will go on in their own ways.
13 « Ah! si mon peuple m’écoutait, si Israël marchait dans mes voies!...
If my people had hearkened to me, if Israel had walked in my ways,
14 Bientôt je confondrais leurs ennemis; je tournerais ma main contre leurs oppresseurs.
I should have put down their enemies very quickly, and should have laid my hand upon those that afflicted them.
15 « Ceux qui haïssent Yahweh le flatteraient, et la durée d’Israël serait assurée pour toujours.
The Lord's enemies [should have] lied to him: but their time shall be for ever.
16 Je le nourrirais de la fleur de froment, et je le rassasierais du miel du rocher. »
And he fed them with the fat of wheat; and satisfied them with honey out of the rock.
