Psaumes 75
1 Au maître de chant. « Ne détruis pas! » Psaume d’Asaph. Cantique. Nous te louons, ô Dieu, nous te louons; ton nom est proche: on raconte tes merveilles.
To the Chief Musician. "Do not Destroy." A Melody of Asaph, a Song. We have given thanks unto thee, O God, we have given thanks, And, in calling upon thy Name, men have recounted thy wonders.
2 « Quand le temps sera venu, je jugerai avec justice.
Surely I will take a set time, —I, with equity, will judge:
3 La terre est ébranlée avec tous ceux qui l’habitent; moi, j’affermis ses colonnes. » — Séla.
Earth was melting away with all its inhabitants, I, have fixed the pillars thereof. (Selah)
4 Je dis aux orgueilleux: Ne vous enorgueillissez pas! et aux méchants: Ne levez pas la tête!
I have said to the boasters, Do not boast, And to the lawless, Do not lift up a horn;
5 Ne levez pas si haut la tête, ne parlez pas avec tant d’arrogance!
Do not lift up on high your horn, Nor speak of the Rock, with arrogance;
6 Car ce n’est ni de l’orient, ni de l’occident; ni du désert des montagnes!...
For neither from east nor west, Nor from the wilderness of the mountains [cometh exaltation];
7 Non; c’est Dieu qui exerce le jugement: il abaisse l’un et il élève l’autre.
For, God himself, is about to judge, One, he will cast down, Another, he will lift up;
8 Car il y a dans la main de Yahweh une coupe, où bouillonne un vin plein d’aromates. Et il en verse: oui, ils en suceront la lie, ils boiront, tous les méchants de la terre.
For, a cup, is in the hand of Yahweh, Whose wine is foaming, It is full of spiced wine, Which he hath caused to flow from one to another, —Surely, the dregs thereof, they shall drain out—they shall drink, Even all the lawless ones of the earth.
9 Et moi, je publierai à jamais, je chanterai les louanges du Dieu de Jacob.
But, I, will exult unto times age-abiding, I will sing praises unto the God of Jacob;
10 Et j’abattrai toutes les cornes des méchants; et les cornes du juste seront élevées.
But, all the horns of the lawless, will I hew off, —Exalted shall be the horns of the Righteous One.
