Psaumes 63
1 Psaume de David. Lorsqu’il était dans le désert de Juda. O Dieu, tu es mon Dieu, je te cherche dès l’aurore; mon âme a soif de toi, ma chair languit après toi, dans une terre aride, desséchée et sans eau.
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Idumea. O God, my God, I cry to you early; my soul has thirsted for you: how often has my flesh [longed] after you, in a barren and trackless and dry land!
2 C’est ainsi que je te contemplais dans le sanctuaire, pour voir ta puissance et ta gloire.
Thus have I appeared before you in the sanctuary, that I might see your power and your glory.
3 Car ta grâce est meilleure que la vie: que mes lèvres célèbrent tes louanges!
For your mercy is better than life: my lips shall praise you.
4 Ainsi te bénirai-je toute ma vie, en ton nom j’élèverai mes mains.
Thus will I bless you during my life: I will lift up my hands in your name.
5 Mon âme est rassasiée, comme de mœlle et de graisse, et, la joie sur les lèvres, ma bouche te loue.
Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness; and [my] joyful lips shall praise your name.
6 Quand je pense à toi sur ma couche, je médite sur toi pendant les veilles de la nuit.
Forasmuch as I have remembered you on my bed: in the early seasons I have meditated on you.
7 Car tu es mon secours, et je suis dans l’allégresse à l’ombre de tes ailes.
For you have been my helper, and in the shelter of your wings will I rejoice.
8 Mon âme est attachée à toi, ta droite me soutient.
My soul has kept very close behind you: your right hand has upheld me.
9 Mais eux, cherchent à m’ôter la vie: ils iront dans les profondeurs de la terre.
But they vainly sought after my soul; they shall go into the lowest parts o the earth.
10 On les livrera au glaive, ils seront la proie des chacals.
They shall be delivered up to the power of the sword; they shall be portions for foxes.
11 Et le roi se réjouira en Dieu; quiconque jure par lui se glorifiera, car la bouche des menteurs sera fermée.
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that swears by him shall be praised; for the mouth of them that speak unjust things has been stopped.
