Psaumes 48
1 Cantique. Psaume des fils de Coré. Yahweh est grand, il est l’objet de toute louange, dans la cité de notre Dieu, sur sa montagne sainte.
A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
2 Elle s’élève gracieuse, joie de toute la terre, la montagne de Sion, aux extrémités du septentrion, la cité du grand Roi.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 Dieu, dans ses palais, s’est fait connaître comme un refuge.
God hath made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 Car voici que les rois s’étaient réunis, ensemble ils s’étaient avancés.
For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together.
5 Ils ont vu, soudain ils ont été dans la stupeur; éperdus, ils ont pris la fuite.
They saw it, then were they amazed; they were dismayed, they hasted away.
6 Là un tremblement les a saisis, une douleur comme celle de la femme qui enfante.
Trembling took hold of them there; pain, as of a woman in travail.
7 Par le vent d’Orient tu brises les vaisseaux de Tharsis.
With the east wind thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
8 Ce que nous avions entendu dire, nous l’avons vu dans la cité de Yahweh des armées; dans la cité de notre Dieu: Dieu l’affermit pour toujours. — Séla.
As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. (Selah)
9 O Dieu nous rappelons la mémoire de ta bonté, au milieu de ton temple.
We have thought on thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
10 Comme ton nom, ô Dieu, ainsi ta louange arrive jusqu’aux extrémités de la terre. Ta droite est pleine de justice.
As is thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Que la montagne de Sion se réjouisse, que les filles de Juda soient dans l’allégresse, à cause de tes jugements!
Let mount Zion be glad, let the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of thy judgments.
12 Parcourez Sion et faites-en le tour, comptez ses forteresses;
Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
13 observez son rempart, examinez ses palais, pour le raconter à la génération future.
Mark ye welt her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14 Voilà le Dieu qui est notre Dieu à jamais et toujours; il sera notre guide dans tous les siècles.
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death.
