Psaumes 126

1 Cantique des montées. Quand Yahweh ramena les captifs de Sion, ce fut pour nous comme un songe.

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like them that dream.

2 Alors notre bouche fit entendre des cris joyeux, notre langue, des chants d’allégresse. Alors on répéta parmi les nations: « Yahweh a fait pour eux de grandes choses. »

Then was our mouth filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then said they among the nations, “The LORD hath done great things for them!”

3 Oui, Yahweh a fait pour nous de grandes choses; nous sommes dans la joie.

Yea, the LORD hath done great things for us, For which we are glad.

4 Yahweh, ramène nos captifs, comme tu fais couler les torrents dans le Négéb.

Bring back, O LORD! our captivity, Like streams in the South!

5 Ceux qui sèment dans les larmes, moissonneront dans l’allégresse.

They who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.

6 Ils vont, ils vont en pleurant, portant et jetant la semence; ils reviendront avec des cris de joie, portant les gerbes de leur moisson.

Yea, he goeth forth weeping, bearing his seed; He shall surely come back rejoicing, bearing his sheaves.
