1 Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
2 « Commande aux enfants d’Israël et dis-leur: Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays de Canaan, voici le pays qui vous tombera en partage: le pays de Canaan, selon ses limites, savoir:
'Command the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When ye are coming in unto the land of Canaan — this [is] the land which falleth to you by inheritance, the land of Canaan, by its borders —
3 Le côté du midi sera pour vous le désert de Sin, jusqu’à Edom, et votre frontière méridionale partira de l’extrémité méridionale de la mer Salée, vers l’orient,
then hath the south quarter been to you from the wilderness of Zin, by the sides of Edom, yea, the south border hath been to you from the extremity of the Salt Sea, eastward;
4 et votre frontière inclinera au sud par la montée d’Akrabbim, passera par Sin, et arrivera jusqu’au midi de Cadès-Barné; elle continuera par Hatsar-Adar et passera vers Asemon;
and the border hath turned round to you from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and hath passed on to Zin, and its outgoings have been from the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and it hath gone out at Hazar-Addar, and hath passed on to Azmon;
5 et depuis Asemon, la frontière arrivera jusqu’au Torrent d’Égypte, pour arriver à la mer.
and the border hath turned round from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its outgoings have been at the sea.
6 Quant à la frontière occidentale, vous aurez pour frontière la grande mer: ce sera votre limite à l’occident.
'As to the west border, even the great sea hath been to you a border; this is to you the west border.
7 Voici quelle sera votre frontière septentrionale: à partir de la grande mer, vous la tracerez pour vous par le mont Hor;
'And this is to you the north border: from the great sea ye mark out for yourselves mount Hor;
8 depuis le mont Hor, vous la tracerez jusqu’à l’entrée de Hamath, et la frontière arrivera à Sedada;
from mount Hor ye mark out to go in to Hamath, and the outgoings of the border have been to Zedad;
9 et la frontière continuera par Zéphron, pour arriver à Hatsar-Enan: ce sera votre limite au septentrion.
and the border hath gone out to Ziphron, and its outgoings have been at Hazar-Enan; this is to you the north border.
10 Vous tracerez votre frontière orientale de Hatsar-Enan à Sépham;
'And ye have marked out for yourselves for the border eastward, from Hazar-Enan to Shepham;
11 et la frontière descendra de Sépham vers Rébla, à l’est d’Aïn; et la frontière descendra et s’étendra le long des collines qui flanquent la mer de Cénéreth à l’orient,
and the border hath gone down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east of Ain, and the border hath gone down, and hath smitten against the shoulder of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;
12 et la frontière descendra le long du Jourdain, pour arriver à la mer Salée. Tel sera votre pays selon les frontières tout autour. »
and the border hath gone down to the Jordan, and its outgoings have been at the Salt Sea; this is for you the land by its borders round about.'
13 Moïse donna cet ordre aux enfants d’Israël, en disant: « C’est là le pays que vous partagerez par le sort, et que Yahweh a ordonné de donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu.
And Moses commandeth the sons of Israel, saying, 'This [is] the land which ye inherit by lot, which Jehovah hath commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half of the tribe;
14 Car la tribu des fils de Ruben, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, et la tribu des fils de Gad, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, ont reçu leur héritage; la demi-tribu de Manassé a reçu son héritage.
for the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received, by the house of their fathers; and the tribe of the children of Gad, by the house of their fathers; and the half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;
15 Les deux tribus et la demi-tribu ont pris leur héritage au delà du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, du côté de l’orient, vers le levant. »
the two tribes and the half of the tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan, [near] Jericho, eastward, at the [sun] -rising.'
16 Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
17 « Voici les noms des hommes qui partageront le pays entre vous: Eléazar, le prêtre, et Josué, fils de Nun.
'These [are] the names of the men who give to you the inheritance of the land: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun,
18 Vous prendrez encore un prince de chaque tribu pour vous partager le pays.
and one prince — one prince — for a tribe ye do take to give the land by inheritance.
19 Voici les noms de ces hommes: Pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Jéphoné;
'And these [are] the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
20 pour la tribu des fils de Siméon, Samuel, fils d’Ammiud;
and of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Aminihud;
21 pour la tribu de Benjamin, Elidad, fils de Chaselon;
of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;
22 pour la tribu des fils de Dan, le prince Bocci, fils de Jogli;
and of the tribe of the sons of Dan, the prince Bukki son of Jogli;
23 pour les fils de Joseph: pour la tribu des fils de Manassé, le prince Hanniel, fils d’Ephod;
of the sons of Joseph, of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the prince Hanniel son of Ephod;
24 et pour la tribu des fils d’Ephraïm, le prince Camuel, fils de Sephtan;
and of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the prince Kemuel son of Shiphtan;
25 pour la tribu des fils de Zabulon, le prince Elisaphan, fils de Pharnach;
and of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, the prince Elizaphan son of Parnach;
26 pour la tribu des fils d’Issachar, le prince Phaltiel, fils d’Ozan;
and of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the prince Paltiel son of Azzan;
27 pour la tribu des fils d’Aser, le prince Ahiud, fils de Salomi;
and of the tribe of the sons of Asher, the prince Ahihud son of Shelomi;
28 pour la tribu des fils de Nephthali, le prince Phedaël, fils d’Ammiud. » —
and of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the prince Pedahel son of Ammihud.'
29 Tels sont ceux à qui Yahweh ordonna de partager le pays de Canaan entre les enfants d’Israël.
These [are] those whom Jehovah hath commanded to give the sons of Israel inheritance in the land of Canaan.
