Marc 12
1 Jésus se mit donc à leur parler en paraboles. « Un homme planta une vigne; il l’entoura d’une haie, y creusa un pressoir et y bâtit une tour; puis il la loua à des vignerons et partit pour un autre pays.
And he began to speak to them in parables: A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower; and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad.
2 En temps convenable, il envoya un serviteur aux vignerons pour recevoir d’eux une part de la récolte.
And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard.
3 Mais s’étant saisis de lui, ils le battirent et le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
4 Il leur envoya encore un autre serviteur, et ils le blessèrent à la tête, et le chargèrent d’outrages.
And again he sent to them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and treated shamefully.
5 Il en envoya un troisième, qu’ils tuèrent; beaucoup d’autres furent encore, les uns battus, les autres tués par eux.
And he sent another; and him they killed; and many others, beating some, and killing some.
6 Il restait au maître un fils unique qui lui était très cher; il l’envoya aussi vers eux le dernier, se disant: Ils respecteront mon fils.
Still he had one beloved son; he sent him last to them, saying, They will respect my son.
7 Mais ces vignerons dirent entre eux: Celui-ci est l’héritier; venez, tuons-le, et l’héritage sera à nous.
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.
8 Et ils se saisirent de lui, le tuèrent et le jetèrent hors de la vigne.
And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 Maintenant que fera le maître de la vigne? Il viendra, il exterminera les vignerons et donnera sa vigne à d’autres.
What will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.
10 N’avez-vous pas lu cette parole de l’Écriture: La pierre qu’ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient, est devenue le sommet de l’angle
And have ye not read this scripture: “The stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the cornerstone;
11 c’est le Seigneur qui a fait cela, et c’est une merveille à nos yeux? »
from the Lord did this come, and it is marvelous in our eyes”?
12 Et ils cherchaient à se saisir de lui, sachant qu’ils les avait en vue dans cette parabole; mais ils craignaient le peuple, et le laissant, ils s’en allèrent.
And they sought to seize him, but feared the multitude; for they knew that he spoke the parable against them. And they left him, and went away.
13 Alors ils lui envoyèrent quelques-uns des Pharisiens et des Hérodiens pour le surprendre dans ses paroles.
And they send to him some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to ensnare him in speech.
14 Ceux-ci étant venus, lui dirent: « Maître, nous savons que tu es véridique, et n’as souci de personne; car tu ne considéres pas l’extérieur des hommes, mais tu enseignes la voie de Dieu dans la vérité. Est-il permis, ou non, de payer le tribut à César? Devons-nous payer, ou non? »
And they come and say to him, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and carest for no one; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
15 Connaissant leur perfidie, il leur dit: « Pourquoi me tentez-vous? Apportez-moi un denier, que je le voie. »
Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, seeing their hypocrisy, said to them, Why are ye trying me? Bring me a denary, that I may see it.
16 Ils le lui apportèrent; et il leur dit: « De qui sont cette image et cette inscription? — De César », lui dirent-ils.
And they brought one. And he saith to them, Whose is this image and inscription? And they said to him, Caesar's.
17 Alors Jésus leur répondit: « Rendez donc à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu. » Et il les frappa d’étonnement.
And Jesus said to them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marveled at him exceedingly.
18 Des Sadducéens, qui nient la résurrection, l’abordèrent ensuite et lui firent cette question:
Then come to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19 « Maître, Moïse nous a prescrit que, si un frère meurt, laissant une femme sans enfants, son frère doit prendre sa femme, et susciter des enfants à son frère.
Teacher, Moses wrote to us, “If a man's brother die, and leave a wife and no child, his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.”
20 Or, il y avait sept frères; le premier prit une femme, et mourut sans laisser d’enfants.
There were seven brothers; and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
21 Le second la prit ensuite, et mourut aussi sans laisser d’enfants. Il en arriva de même au troisième,
And the second took her and died, leaving no seed; and the third likewise.
22 et chacun des sept la prit, et ne laissa pas d’enfants. Après eux tous, mourut aussi la femme.
And the seven left no seed. Last of all, the woman also died.
23 Eh bien, dans la résurrection, lorsqu’ils seront ressuscités, duquel d’entre eux sera-t-elle la femme? car les sept l’ont eue pour femme. »
In the resurrection, when they have risen, of which of them will she be wife? for the seven had her for a wife.
24 Jésus leur répondit: « N’êtes-vous pas dans l’erreur, parce que vous ne comprenez ni les Écritures, ni la puissance de Dieu?
Jesus said to them, Do ye not err on this account, that ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God?
25 Car, une fois ressuscités des morts, les hommes ne prennent pas de femmes, ni les femmes de maris; mais ils sont comme les anges dans le ciel.
For when they have risen from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels in heaven.
26 Et touchant la résurrection des morts, n’avez-vous pas lu dans le livre de Moïse, au passage du Buisson, ce que Dieu lui dit: Je suis le Dieu d’Abraham, le Dieu d’Isaac, et le Dieu de Jacob?
And concerning the dead, that they are raised, have ye not read in the book of Moses, at the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”?
27 Il n’est pas le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants. Vous êtes donc grandement dans l’erreur. »
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Ye err greatly.
28 Un des scribes, qui avait entendu cette discussion, voyant que Jésus leur avait bien répondu, s’approcha et lui demanda: « Quel est le premier de tous les commandements? »
And one of the scribes came up, having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which commandment is first of all?
29 Jésus lui répondit: « Le premier de tous est celui-ci: Écoute Israël: le Seigneur notre Dieu, est seul le Seigneur.
Jesus answered, The first is, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord;
30 Tu aimeras donc le Seigneur ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de tout ton esprit, et de toute ta force. C’est là le premier commandement.
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.”
31 Le second lui est semblable: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. Il n’y a pas d’autre commandement plus grand que ceux-là. »
The second is this: “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.
32 Le scribe lui dit: « Bien, Maître, tu as dit selon la vérité qu’Il est unique, et qu’il n’y en a pas d’autre que lui;
And the scribe said to him, In truth, Teacher, thou hast well said, that He is one, and that there is no other but he;
33 et que l’aimer de tout son cœur, de tout son esprit, de toute son âme et de toute sa force, et aimer son prochain comme soi-même, c’est plus que tous les holocaustes et tous les sacrifices. »
and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as one's self, is more than all the whole burnt-offerings and the sacrifices.
34 Jésus, voyant qu’il avait répondu avec sagesse, lui dit: « Tu n’es pas loin du royaume de Dieu. » Et personne n’osait plus lui poser de questions.
And Jesus, perceiving that he answered wisely, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And after this no one dared to question him.
35 Jésus, continuant à enseigner dans le temple, dit: « Comment les scribes disent-ils que le Christ est fils de David?
And Jesus answered and said, while he was teaching in the temple, How is it that the scribes say, that the Christ is David's son?
36 Car David lui-même parle ainsi par l’Esprit-Saint: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Siège à ma droite jusqu’à ce que je fasse de tes ennemis l’escabeau de tes pieds.
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, “The Lord said to my lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
37 David lui-même l’appelle Seigneur, comment donc est-il son fils? » Et la foule nombreuse prenait plaisir à l’entendre.
David himself calleth him lord; and how can he be his son? And the great multitude heard him gladly.
38 Il leur disait encore dans son enseignement: « Gardez-vous des scribes qui aiment à se promener en longues robes, à recevoir les salutations dans les places publiques,
And he said in his teaching, Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes, and love salutations in the markets,
39 les premiers sièges dans les synagogues et les premières places dans les festins:
and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the first places at feasts;
40 ces gens qui dévorent les maisons des veuves et affectant de faire de longues prières, subiront une plus forte condamnation. »
who devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers. These will receive a far greater condemnation.
41 S’étant assis vis-à-vis du Tronc, Jésus considérait comment le peuple y jetait de la monnaie; plusieurs riches y mettaient beaucoup.
And he sat over against the treasury, and was beholding how the people cast money into the treasury. And many that were rich were casting in much.
42 Une pauvre veuve étant venue, elle y mit deux petites pièces, valant ensemble le quart d’un as.
And a certain poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 Alors Jésus, appelant ses disciples, leur dit: « Je vous le dis, en vérité, cette pauvre veuve a donné plus que tous ceux qui ont mis dans le Tronc.
And he called to him his disciples, and said to them, Truly do I say to you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than all those who are casting into the treasury.
44 Car tous ont mis de leur superflu, mais cette femme a donné de son nécessaire, tout ce qu’elle possédait, tout ce qu’elle avait pour vivre. »
For they all threw in of their abundance; but she out of her penury threw in all that she had, her whole living.
