Luc 21
1 Jésus, levant les yeux, vit les riches qui mettaient leurs offrandes dans le tronc.
Looking up He saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasure chest.
2 Il vit aussi une veuve indigente qui y mettait deux petites pièces de monnaie,
But He also saw a certain poor widow putting in two mites.
3 et il dit: « Je vous le dis, en vérité, cette pauvre veuve a mis plus que tous les autres.
So He said: “I tell you truly that this poor widow put in more than all of them;
4 Car tous ceux-là ont donné de leur superflu en offrande à Dieu; mais cette femme a donné de son indigence tout ce qu’elle avait pour vivre. »
because all these others put in gifts for God out of their abundance, but she, out of her destitution, put in all she had to live on.”
5 Quelques-uns disant que le temple était orné de belles pierres et de riches offrandes, Jésus dit:
Then, as some were admiring the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said,
6 « Des jours viendront où, de tout ce que vous regardez-là, il ne restera pas pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée. »
“These things that you see—the days will come in which not one stone will be left upon another that will not be thrown down.”
7 Alors ils lui demandèrent: « Maître, quand ces choses arriveront-elles, et à quel signe connaîtra-t-on qu’elles sont près de s’accomplir? »
So they asked Him, saying: “Teacher, so when will these things be?” and “What will be the sign when these things are about to happen?”
8 Jésus répondit: « Prenez garde qu’on ne vous séduise; car plusieurs viendront sous mon nom, disant: Je suis le Christ, et le temps est proche. Ne les suivez donc point.
So He said: “Be careful, so as not to be deceived, because many will come in my name saying: ‘I am’ and ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore do not go after them.
9 Et quand vous entendrez parler de guerres et de séditions, ne soyez pas effrayés; il faut que ces choses arrivent d’abord; mais la fin ne viendra pas sitôt. »
But whenever you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; because these things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”
10 Il leur dit alors: « Une nation s’élèvera contre une nation, et un royaume contre un royaume.
Then He said to them: “Nation will be raised up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11 Il y aura de grands tremblements de terre, des pestes et des famines en divers lieux, et dans le ciel d’effrayantes apparitions et des signes extraordinaires.
And there will be severe earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful events and great signs from heaven.
12 Mais, avant tout cela, on mettra les main sur vous, et l’on vous persécutera; on vous traînera dans les synagogues et dans les prisons, on vous traduira devant les rois et les gouverneurs, à cause de mon nom.
But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors on account of my name.
13 Cela vous arrivera, afin que vous me rendiez témoignage.
But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.
14 Mettez donc dans vos cœurs de ne pas songer d’avance à votre défense;
So settle it in your hearts not to practice giving a defense beforehand;
15 car je vous donnerai moi-même une bouche et une sagesse à laquelle tous vos ennemis ne pourront ni répondre, ni résister.
because I will give you a mouth and wisdom such that all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or withstand.
16 Vous serez livrés même par vos parents, par vos frères, par vos proches et par vos amis, et ils feront mourir plusieurs d’entre vous.
You will be betrayed even by parents and relatives, friends and ‘brothers’; and they will put some of you to death.
17 Vous serez en haine à tous à cause de mon nom.
And you will be hated by all because of my name.
18 Cependant pas un cheveu de votre tête ne se perdra;
(Not even one hair of your head will be wasted
19 par votre constance, vous sauverez vos âmes.
—you must secure your souls by your endurance.)
20 Mais lorsque vous verrez des armées investir Jérusalem, sachez alors que sa désolation est proche.
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.
21 Alors que ceux qui seront dans la Judée s’enfuient dans les montagnes, que ceux qui seront dans la ville en sortent, et que ceux qui seront dans les campagnes n’entrent pas dans la ville.
Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let those who are in the city get out, and let those who are in the country not enter her.
22 Car ce seront des jours de châtiment, pour l’accomplissement de tout ce qui est écrit.
Because these are days of vengeance, that all the written things may be fulfilled.
23 Malheur aux femmes qui seront enceintes ou qui allaiteront en ces jours-là, car la détresse sera grande sur la terre, grande la colère contre ce peuple.
But woe to those who are pregnant and to those nursing babies in those days! There will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.
24 Ils tomberont sous le tranchant du glaive; ils seront emmenés captifs parmi toutes les nations, et Jérusalem sera foulée aux pieds par les Gentils, jusqu’à ce que les temps des Gentils soient accomplis.
Yes, they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
25 Et il y aura des signes dans le soleil, dans la lune et dans les étoiles, et, sur la terre, les nations seront dans l’angoisse et la consternation, au bruit de la mer et des flots;
“There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, at the roaring and tossing of the sea;
26 les hommes séchant de frayeur dans l’attente de ce qui doit arriver à la terre entière; car les puissances des cieux seront ébranlées.
men fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the inhabited earth—because the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27 Alors on verra le Fils de l’homme venant dans une nuée avec une grande puissance et une grande gloire.
Then they will see the Son of the Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 Quand ces choses commenceront à arriver, redressez-vous et relevez la tête, parce que votre délivrance approche. »
Now when these things begin to happen, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
29 Et il leur dit cette comparaison: « Voyez le figuier et tous les arbres:
Then He told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
30 dès qu’ils se sont mis à pousser, vous savez de vous-mêmes, en les voyant, que l’été est proche.
Whenever they are already budding, you see and know by yourselves that summer is now near.
31 De même, quand vous verrez ces choses arriver, sachez que le royaume de Dieu est proche.
So you also, whenever you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near.
32 Je vous le dis, en vérité, cette génération ne passera pas, que tout ne soit accompli.
I tell you assuredly, this generation will certainly not pass away until all has happened.
33 Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront pas.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
34 Prenez garde à vous-mêmes, de peur que vos cœurs ne s’appesantissent par l’excès du manger et du boire, et par les soucis de la vie, et que ce jour ne fonde sur vous à l’improviste;
“But keep a watch on yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness, and cares of life, and that Day come upon you suddenly.
35 car il viendra comme un filet sur tous ceux qui habitent la face de la terre entière.
Because it will come like a trap upon all those who dwell on the surface of the whole earth.
36 Veillez donc et priez sans cesse, afin que vous soyez trouvés dignes d’échapper à tous ces maux qui doivent arriver, et de paraître debout devant le Fils de l’homme. »
So be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that are about to happen and to stand before the Son of the Man.”
37 Pendant le jour, Jésus enseignait dans le temple, et il en sortait pour aller passer la nuit sur la montagne qu’on appelle des Oliviers.
In the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called ‘of Olives.’
38 Et tout le peuple, dès le matin, venait à lui pour l’écouter dans le temple.
Then early in the morning all the people would come to Him in the temple to hear Him.
