Jean 21
1 Après cela, Jésus se montra de nouveau à ses disciples sur les bords de la mer de Tibériade: et il se montra ainsi:
After these things Jesus showed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias: and in this manner did he show [himself].
2 Simon-Pierre, Thomas appelé Didyme, Nathanaël, qui était de Cana en Galilée, les fils de Zébédée et deux autres de ses disciples, étaient ensemble.
There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the [sons] of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.
3 Simon-Pierre leur dit: « Je vais pêcher. » Ils lui dirent: « Nous y allons nous aussi avec toi. » Ils sortirent donc et montèrent dans la barque; mais ils ne prirent rien cette nuit-là.
Simon Peter saith to them, I go a fishing. They say to him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a boat immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
4 Le matin venu, Jésus se trouva sur le rivage; mais les disciples ne savaient pas que c’était Jésus.
But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
5 Et Jésus leur dit: « Enfants, n’avez-vous rien à manger? » — Non, répondirent-ils.
Then Jesus saith to them, Children, have ye any victuals? They answered him, No.
6 Il leur dit: « Jetez le filet à droite de la barque, et vous trouverez. » Ils le jetèrent; et ils ne pouvaient plus le tirer à cause de la grande quantité de poissons.
And he said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
7 Alors le disciple que Jésus aimait dit à Pierre: « C’est le Seigneur! » Simon-Pierre, ayant entendu que c’était le Seigneur, mit son vêtement et sa ceinture, car il était nu, et se jeta dans la mer.
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith to Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt [on] his fisher's coat, (for he was naked) and cast himself into the sea.
8 Les autres disciples vinrent avec la barque (car ils n’étaient éloignés de la terre que d’environ deux cents coudées), en tirant le filet plein de poissons.
And the other disciples came in a little boat (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits) dragging the net with fishes.
9 Quand ils furent descendus à terre, ils virent là des charbons allumés, du poisson mis dessus, et du pain.
As soon then as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid upon them, and bread.
10 Jésus leur dit: « Apportez de ces poissons que vous venez de prendre. »
Jesus saith to them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
11 Simon-Pierre monta dans la barque, et tira à terre le filet qui était plein de cent cinquante-trois grands poissons; et quoiqu’il y en eût un si grand nombre, le filet ne se rompit pas.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty and three: and notwithstanding there were so many, yet the net was not broken.
12 Jésus leur dit: « Venez et mangez. » Et aucun des disciples n’osait lui demander: « Qui es-tu? » parce qu’ils savaient que c’était le Seigneur.
Jesus saith to them, Come [and] dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Jésus s’approcha, et prenant le pain, il leur en donna; il fit de même du poisson.
Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
14 C’était déjà la troisième fois que Jésus apparaissait à ses disciples, depuis qu’il était ressuscité des morts.
This is now the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples, after he had risen from the dead.
15 Lorsqu’ils eurent mangé, Jésus dit à Simon-Pierre: « Simon, [fils] de Jean, m’aimes-tu plus que ceux-ci? » Il lui répondit: « Oui, Seigneur, tu sais que j’ai de l’amitié pour toi. » Jésus lui dit: « Pais mes agneaux. »
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him, Yes, Lord: thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my lambs.
16 Il lui dit une seconde fois: « Simon, [fils] de Jean, m’aimes-tu? » Pierre lui répondit: « Oui, Seigneur, tu sais bien que j’ai de l’amitié pour toi. » Jésus lui dit: « Pais mes agneaux. »
He saith to him again the second time, Simon [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith to him, Yes, Lord: thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my sheep.
17 Il lui dit pour la troisième fois: « Simon, fils de Jean, as-tu de l’amitié pour moi? » Pierre fut contristé de ce que Jésus lui demandait pour la troisième fois: « As-tu de l’amitié pour moi? » et il lui répondit: « Seigneur, tu connais toutes choses, tu sais bien que j’ai de l’amitié pour toi. » Jésus lui dit: « Pais mes brebis.
He saith to him the third time, Simon [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he said to him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith to him, Feed my sheep.
18 En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, quand tu étais plus jeune, tu te ceignais toi-même, et tu allais où tu voulais; mais quand tu seras vieux, tu étendras les mains, et un autre te ceindra, et te mènera où tu ne voudras pas. »
Verily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself and walk whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry [thee] whither thou wouldst not.
19 — Il dit cela, indiquant par quelle mort Pierre devait glorifier Dieu. — Et après avoir ainsi parlé, il ajouta: « Suis-moi. »
This he spoke, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith to him, Follow me.
20 Pierre, s’étant retourné, vit venir derrière lui, le disciple que Jésus aimait, celui qui, pendant la cène, s’était penché sur son sein, et lui avait dit: « Seigneur, qui est celui qui te trahit? »
Then Peter turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved, following; (who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee?)
21 Pierre donc, l’ayant vu, dit à Jésus: « Seigneur, et celui-ci que deviendra-t-il? »
Peter seeing him, saith to Jesus, Lord, and what [shall] this man [do]?
22 Jésus lui dit: « Si je veux qu’il demeure jusqu’à ce que je vienne, que t’importe? Toi, suis-moi. »
Jesus saith to him, If I will that he shall tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee? Follow thou me.
23 Le bruit courut donc parmi les frères que ce disciple ne mourrait pas. Pourtant Jésus ne lui avait pas dit qu’il ne mourrait pas; mais: « Si je veux qu’il demeure jusqu’à ce que je vienne, que t’importe? »
Then this saying went abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not to him, He shall not die; but, if I will that he shall tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee?
24 C’est ce même disciple qui rend témoignage de ces choses et qui les a écrites; et nous savons que son témoignage est vrai.
This is the disciple who testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
25 Jésus a fait encore beaucoup d’autres choses; si on les rapportait en détail, je ne pense pas que le monde entier pût contenir les livres qu’il faudrait écrire.
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
