Job 25

1 Alors Baldad de Suhé prit la parole et dit:

Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said: —

2 A lui appartiennent la domination et la terreur; il fait régner la paix dans ses hautes demeures.

Dominion and dread, are with him, who causeth prosperity among his lofty ones;

3 Ses légions ne sont-elles pas innombrables? Sur qui ne se lève pas sa lumière?

Is there any number to his troops? And upon whom ariseth not his light?

4 Comment l’homme serait-il juste devant Dieu? Comment le fils de la femme serait-il pur?

How then shall, a mortal, be just with GOD? Or how shall he be pure who is born of a woman?

5 Voici que la lune même est sans clarté, les étoiles ne sont pas pures à ses yeux:

Look as far as the moon, and it is not clear, and, the stars, are not bright in his eyes!

6 combien moins l’homme, ce vermisseau, le fils de l’homme, ce vil insecte!

How much less a mortal who is a creeping thing? Or a son of the earth-born who is a worm?
