Jérémie 52
1 Sédécias était âgé de vingt et un ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Amital, fille de Jérémie, de Lobna.
Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
2 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahweh, imitant tout ce qu’avait fait Joakim.
And he did that which was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
3 Cela arriva à Jérusalem et en Juda, à cause de la colère de Yahweh, jusqu’à ce qu’il les rejette de devant sa face. Et Sédécias se révolta contre le roi de Babylone.
For, through the anger of Jehovah, it was so with Judah and Jerusalem that at length he cast them forth from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
4 La neuvième année du règne de Sédécias, le dixième mois, le dixième jour du mois, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, vint avec toute son armée contre Jérusalem; ils campèrent devant elle et construisirent tout autour des murs d’approche.
And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it, and built forts against it round about.
5 La ville fut assiégée jusqu’à la onzième année du roi Sédécias.
And the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
6 Au quatrième mois, le neuvième jour du mois, comme la famine était grande dans la ville, et qu’il n’y avait plus de pain pour le peuple du pays,
And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
7 une brèche fut faite à la ville, et tous les gens de guerre s’enfuirent et sortirent de la ville pendant la nuit, par la porte entre les deux murs, près du jardin du roi, pendant que les Chaldéens environnaient la ville; et ils prirent le chemin de la plaine.
And the city was broken into; and all the men of war fled, and went out of the city by night, by the way of the gate between the two walls, which is by the king's garden, (whilst the Chaldaeans were by the city round about, ) and they went toward the plain.
8 Mais l’armée des chaldéens poursuivit le roi; ils atteignirent Sédécias dans les plaines de Jéricho, et toute son armée se dispersa loin de lui.
But the army of the Chaldaeans pursued the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
9 Ayant saisi roi, ils le firent monter vers le roi de Babylone, à Rébla, dans le pays de d’Émath, et il prononça sur lui des sentences.
And they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon, to Riblah, in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
10 Le roi de Babylone égorgea les fils de Sédécias sous les yeux de leur père; il égorgea aussi tous les chefs de Juda à Rébla.
And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. He slew also all the princes or Judah, in Riblah.
11 Puis il creva les yeux à Sédécias et le lia avec deux chaînes d’airain; et le roi de Babylone le mena à Babylone, et le tint en prison jusqu’au jour de sa mort.
And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in chains; and the king of Babylon carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
12 Le cinquième mois, le dixième jour du mois, — c’était la dix-neuvième année du règne de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, — Nabuzardan, capitaine des gardes, qui était ministre du roi de Babylone, vint à Jérusalem.
And in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, (it was the nineteenth year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, ) came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, one that stood in the presence of the king of Babylon, to Jerusalem.
13 Il brûla la maison de Yahweh, la maison du roi, et toutes les maisons de Jérusalem; il livra au feu toutes les grandes maisons.
And he burned the house of Jehovah, and the king's house; and all the houses at Jerusalem, all the great houses, burned he with fire.
14 Toute l’armée des chaldéens qui était avec le capitaine des gardes démolit les murailles formant l’enceinte de Jérusalem.
And all the army of the Chaldaeans that was with the captain of the guard brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
15 Nabuzardan, capitaine des gardes, emmena captifs une partie des plus pauvres du peuple, avec le reste du peuple qui était demeuré dans la ville, les transfuges qui s’étaient rendus au roi de Babylone, et le reste des artisans.
And some of the poor of the people, and the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the deserters that had gone over to the king of Babylon, even the remainder of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, carry away captive.
16 Mais Nabuzardan, capitaine des gardes, laissa comme vignerons et comme laboureurs quelques-uns des pauvres du pays.
But some of the poor of the land did Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, leave for vine-dressers and for husbandmen.
17 Les Chaldéens brisèrent les colonnes d’airain qui appartenaient à la maison de Yahweh, ainsi que les bases et la mer d’airain qui étaient dans la maison de Yahweh, et ils en emportèrent l’airain à Babylone.
And the pillars of brass that were in the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of Jehovah, the Chaldaeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
18 Ils prirent les pots, les pelles, les couteaux, les tasses, les coupes et tous les ustensiles d’airain avec lesquels on faisait le service.
The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the pans, and all the vessels of brass which were used in ministering, did they take away.
19 Le capitaine des gardes prit encore les bassins, les encensoirs, les tasses, les pots, les chandeliers, les cuillers et les urnes, ce qui était d’or et ce qui était d’argent.
And the basins, and the fire-pans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the censers, and the cups, and whatever was of gold or silver, did the captain of the guard take away.
20 Quant aux deux colonnes, à la mer et aux douze bœufs d’airain qui étaient dessous, et aux bases que le roi Salomon avait faites dans la maison de Yahweh, il n’y avait pas à peser l’airain de tous ces ustensiles.
The two pillars, the sea, and the twelve brazen bulls that were under the bases, which King Solomon made in the house of Jehovah, the brass from all these was beyond weight.
21 Quant aux colonnes, la hauteur d’une colonne était de dix-huit coudées, et un cordon de douze coudées en mesurait le tour; son épaisseur était de quatre doigts, et elle était creuse.
For as to the pillars, eighteen cubits in height was the one pillar, and a line of twelve cubits measured it round, and their thickness was four fingers, being hollow.
22 Il y avait au-dessus un chapiteau d’airain, et la hauteur d’un chapiteau était de cinq coudées; et il y avait tout autour du chapiteaux un treillis et des grenades, le tout d’airain. Il en était de même de la seconde colonne; avec les grenades.
And a chapiter of brass was upon them; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits; and there was network with pomegranates upon the chapiter all round, the whole of brass. The second pillar also, and the pomegranates, were like unto these.
23 Il y avait quatre-vingt-seize grenades sur les faces, et toutes les grenades étaient au nombre de cent sur le treillis, tout autour.
And the pomegranates were ninety and six toward every wind; all the pomegranates were a hundred upon the network round about.
24 Le capitaine des gardes prit Saraïas, le grand-prêtre, Sophonie, prêtre de second ordre, et les trois gardiens de la porte.
And the captain of the guard took Seraiah, the chief priest, and Zephaniah, the second priest, and the three keepers of the door;
25 De la ville il prit un officier qui commandait aux gens de guerre, sept hommes faisant partie du conseil privé du roi et qui furent trouvés dans la ville, le secrétaire du chef de l’armée chargé d’enrôler le peuple du pays, et soixante hommes du peuple du pays qui se trouvaient dans la ville.
and out of the city he took a eunuch who had charge over the men of war, and seven men of those that were near the king's person, who were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city;
26 Les ayant pris, Nabuzardan, capitaine des gardes, les conduisit vers le roi de Babylone à Rébla.
these, Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, took, and brought to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
27 Et le roi de Babylone les frappa et les fit mourir à Rébla, dans le pays de d’Emath. Ainsi Juda fut emmené captif loin de sa patrie.
And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus was Judah carried away captive out of their own land.
28 Voici le nombre des hommes que Nabuchodonosor emmena captifs: la septième année, trois mille vingt-trois hommes de Juda;
This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year, three thousand and twenty-three Jews;
29 la dix-huitième année de Nabuchodonosor, huit cent trente-deux personnes de la population de Jérusalem;
in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred and thirty-two persons;
30 la vingt-troisième année de Nabuchodonosor, Nabuzardan, capitaine des gardes, emmena encore captifs sept cent quarante-cinq hommes de Juda; en tout quatre mille six cents personnes.
in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons. All the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
31 La trente-septième année de la captivité de Joachin, roi de Juda, le douzième mois, le vingt-cinquième jour du mois, Evil-Mérodach, roi de Babylone, en l’année de son avènement, releva la tête de Joachin, roi de Juda, et le fit sortir de prison.
And it came to pass in the thirty and seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth day of the month, that Evil-merodach, the king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin, king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
32 Il lui parla avec bonté et mit son trône au-dessus du trône des rois qui étaient avec lui à Babylone.
and spoke kindly to him, and set his seat above the seat of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
33 Il lui fit changer ses vêtements de prison, et Joachin mangea en sa présence, toujours, tous les jours de sa vie.
and changed his prison garments; and he ate bread before him all the days of his life.
34 Quant à son entretien, son entretien perpétuel, le roi de Babylone y pourvut chaque jour, jusqu’au jour de sa mort, tous les jours de sa vie.
And a constant allowance was given him by the king of Babylon, a portion every day, until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
