Jérémie 28
1 Cette même année, au commencement du règne de Sédécias, roi de Juda, la quatrième année, le cinquième mois, le prophète Hananias, fils d’Azur, de Gabaon, me dit, dans la maison de Yahweh, en présence des prêtres et de tout le peuple:
And it came to pass in the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah, the son of Azur the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
2 Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées, Dieu d’Israël: J’ai brisé le joug du roi de Babylone.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: “I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3 Encore deux ans, et je ramènerai dans ce lieu tous les ustensiles de la maison de Yahweh, que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a enlevés de ce lieu et qu’il a emportés à Babylone.
Within two full years will I bring again to this place all the vessels of the house of Jehovah, which Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon took from this place, and carried to Babylon.
4 Et je ferai revenir dans ce lieu Jéchonias, fils de Joakim, roi de Juda, et tous les captifs de Juda qui sont allés à Babylone, — oracle de Yahweh —, car je briserai le joug du roi de Babylone.
And Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the captives of Judah that went to Babylon, will I bring again to this place, saith Jehovah; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”
5 Et Jérémie le prophète répondit à Hananias le prophète, en présence des prêtres et en présence de tout le peuple qui se tenaient dans la maison de Yahweh.
Then Jeremiah the prophet spake to Hananiah the prophet, in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of Jehovah.
6 Jérémie le prophète dit: Amen! Ainsi fasse Yahweh! Que Yahweh accomplisse les paroles que tu viens de prophétiser, en ramenant de Babylone en ce lieu les ustensiles de la maison de Yahweh et tous les captifs!
And Jeremiah the prophet said, Amen! So may Jehovah do! May Jehovah fulfill thy words which thou hast prophesied, and bring back the vessels of the house of Jehovah, and all the captives from Babylon to this place!
7 Toutefois entends cette parole que je prononce à tes oreilles et aux oreilles de tout le peuple:
Nevertheless, hear now this word, which I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people.
8 Les prophètes qui ont été avant moi et avant toi, dès les temps anciens, ont prophétisé à de nombreux pays et à de grands royaumes la guerre, le malheur et la peste.
The prophets who have been before me and before thee from ancient times have also prophesied against many nations, and against great kingdoms, of war, of calamity, and of pestilence.
9 Quant au prophète qui prophétise la paix, ce sera lorsque s’accomplira la parole de ce prophète qu’il sera reconnu pour le prophète véritablement envoyé par Yahweh.
The prophet who prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall he be known as a prophet whom Jehovah hath truly sent.
10 Alors Hananias le prophète prit le joug de dessus le cou de Jérémie le prophète, et le brisa.
Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and broke it.
11 Et Hananias dit en présence de tout le peuple: Ainsi parle Yahweh: C’est ainsi que dans deux ans je briserai le joug de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, de dessus le cou de toutes les nations. Et Jérémie le prophète s’en alla.
And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: In this manner will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, from the neck of all the nations, within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12 Et la parole de Yahweh fut adressée à Jérémie, — après que Hananias le prophète eut brisé le joug de dessus le cou de Jérémie le prophète, — en ces termes:
Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying:
13 Va, parle à Hananias en ces termes: Ainsi parle Yahweh: Tu as brisé un joug de bois, et tu as fait à sa place un joug de fer.
Go and tell Hananiah, saying: Thou hast broken a yoke of wood, but thou shalt make instead of it a yoke of iron.
14 Car ainsi parle Yahweh des armées, Dieu d’Israël: Je mets un joug de fer sur le cou de toutes ces nations, pour qu’elles soient assujetties à Nabuchodonosor, et elles lui seront assujetties; je lui ai donné même les animaux des champs.
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: A yoke of iron do I put upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon; and they shall serve him. The beasts of the field also do I give to him.
15 Puis Jérémie le prophète dit à Hananias le prophète: Ecoute, Hananias: Yahweh ne t’a pas envoyé, et tu as fait que ce peuple se confie au mensonge.
Jeremiah the prophet said also to Hananiah the prophet: Hear now, Hananiah! Jehovah hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
16 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle Yahweh: Voici que je te renvoie de la face de la terre; cette année même tu mourras, car tu as prêché la révolte contre Yahweh.
Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will cast thee off from the face of the earth. This year thou shalt die; for thou hast spoken rebellion against Jehovah.
17 Et Hananias le prophète mourut cette même année, au septième mois.
And Hananiah the prophet died in the same year, in the seventh month.
