Aggée 1
1 La deuxième année du roi Darius, au sixième mois, le premier jour du mois, la parole de Yahweh fut adressée, par l’intermédiaire d’Aggée, le prophète, à Zorobabel, fils de Salathiel, gouverneur de Juda, et à Jésus, fils de Josédec, le grand prêtre, en ces termes:
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées: Ce peuple dit: « Le temps n’est pas venu, le temps pour la maison de Yahweh d’être rebâtie. »
Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.
3 Et la parole de Yahweh se fit entendre par l’intermédiaire d’Aggée, le prophète, en ces termes:
Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Est-il temps pour vous autres d’habiter vos maisons lambrissées, quand cette maison-là est en ruines?
Is it time for you, O all of you, to dwell in your covered over houses, and this house lie waste?
5 Et maintenant ainsi parle Yahweh des armées: Considérez attentivement vos voies.
Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
6 Vous avez semé beaucoup et recueilli peu; vous mangez, mais non jusqu’à être rassasiés; vous buvez, mais non jusqu’à votre soûl; vous êtes vêtus, mais non jusqu’à être réchauffés; et le salarié gagne son salaire pour une bourse trouée.
All of you have sown much, and bring in little; all of you eat, but all of you have not enough; all of you drink, but all of you are not filled with drink; all of you clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7 Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées: Considérez attentivement vos voies.
Thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
8 Allez à la montagne, apportez du bois, et bâtissez la maison; j’en aurai plaisir et gloire, dit Yahweh.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, says the LORD.
9 Vous comptiez sur beaucoup, et voici que cela se réduit à peu; vous aviez rentré vos récoltes, et j’ai soufflé dessus. A cause de quoi — oracle de Yahweh des armées? A cause de ma maison qui est en ruines, tandis que vous vous empressez chacun pour votre maison.
All of you looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when all of you brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? says the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and all of you run every man unto his own house.
10 C’est pourquoi les cieux vous ont retenu la rosée, et la terre a retenu ses fruits.
Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
11 J’ai appelé la sécheresse sur la terre et sur les montagnes, sur le blé, sur le vin nouveau, sur l’huile, et sur ce que peut produire le sol, et sur l’homme et sur les bêtes; et sur tout le travail des mains.
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
12 Alors Zorobabel, fils de Salathiel, et Jésus, fils de Josédec, le grand prêtre, et tout le reste du peuple, écoutèrent la voix de Yahweh, leur Dieu, et les paroles d’Aggée, le prophète, selon la mission qu’il avait reçue de Yahweh, leur Dieu; et le peuple craignit devant Yahweh.
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
13 Et Aggée, envoyé de Yahweh, sur l’ordre de Yahweh, parla au peuple en ces termes: « Je suis avec vous, — oracle de Yahweh. »
Then spoke Haggai the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, says the LORD.
14 Et Yahweh réveilla l’esprit de Zorobabel, fils de Salathiel, gouverneur de Juda, l’esprit de Jésus, fils de Josédec, le grand prêtre, et l’esprit de tout le reste du peuple; et ils vinrent et travaillèrent à la maison de Yahweh des armées, leur Dieu,
And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
15 le vingt-quatrième jour du sixième mois, la deuxième année du roi Darius.
In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
