Genèse 45
1 Alors Joseph ne put se contenir devant tous ceux qui étaient présents; il s’écria: « Faites sortir tout le monde. » Et il ne resta personne avec lui quand il se fit connaître à ses frères.
Then Ioseph could not refraine him selfe before all that stoode by him, but hee cryed, Haue forth euery man from me. And there taryed not one with him, while Ioseph vttered himselfe vnto his brethren.
2 Il éleva la voix en pleurant; les Egyptiens l’entendirent, et la maison de Pharaon l’entendit.
And hee wept and cried, so that the Egyptians heard: the house of Pharaoh heard also.
3 Joseph dit à ses frères: « Je suis Joseph! Mon père vit-il encore? » Mais ses frères ne purent lui répondre, tant ils étaient bouleversés devant lui.
Then Ioseph sayde to his brethren, I am Ioseph: doeth my father yet liue? But his brethren coulde not answere him, for they were astonished at his presence.
4 Et Joseph dit à ses frères: « Approchez-vous de moi «; et ils s’approchèrent. Il dit: « Je suis Joseph, votre frère, que vous avez vendu pour être mené en Égypte.
Againe, Ioseph sayde to his brethren, Come neere, I pray you, to mee. And they came neere. And he sayde, I am Ioseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
5 Maintenant ne vous affligez pas et ne soyez pas fâchés contre vous-mêmes de ce que vous m’avez vendu pour être conduit ici; c’est pour vous sauver la vie que Dieu m’a envoyé devant vous.
Nowe therefore be not sad, neither grieued with your selues, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you for your preseruation.
6 Car voilà deux ans que la famine est dans ce pays, et pendant cinq années encore il n’y aura ni labour ni moisson.
For nowe two yeeres of famine haue bene through ye land, and fiue yeeres are behind, wherein neither shalbe earing nor haruest.
7 Dieu m’a envoyé devant vous pour vous assurer un reste dans le pays et vous faire subsister pour une grande délivrance.
Wherefore God sent me before you to preserue your posteritie in this land, and to saue you aliue by a great deliuerance.
8 Et maintenant, ce n’est pas vous qui m’avez envoyé ici, mais c’est Dieu; il m’a établi père de Pharaon, seigneur sur toute sa maison et gouverneur de tout le pays d’Égypte.
Now the you sent not me hither, but God, who hath made mee a father vnto Pharaoh, and lorde of all his house, and ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
9 Hâtez-vous de monter vers mon père, et vous lui direz: Ainsi a parlé ton fils Joseph: Dieu m’a établi seigneur sur toute l’Égypte; descends vers moi sans tarder.
Haste you and go vp to my father, and tel him, Thus saieth thy sonne Ioseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come downe to me, tary not.
10 Tu habiteras dans le pays de Gessen, et tu seras près de moi, toi et tes fils, et les fils de tes fils, tes brebis et tes bœufs, et tout ce qui est à toi.
And thou shalt dwel in ye land of Goshen, and shalt be neere me, thou and thy children, and thy childrens children, and thy sheepe, and thy beastes, and all that thou hast.
11 Là, je te nourrirai, — car il y aura encore cinq années de famine, — afin que tu ne souffres pas, toi, ta maison et tout ce qui est à toi.
Also I will nourish thee there (for yet remaine fiue yeeres of famine) lest thou perish through pouertie, thou and thy houshold, and all that thou hast.
12 Voici, vos yeux voient, ainsi que les yeux de mon frère Benjamin, que c’est ma bouche qui vous parle.
And behold, your eyes doe see, and the eyes of my brother Beniamin, that my mouth speaketh to you.
13 Racontez à mon père toute ma gloire en Égypte et tout ce que vous avez vu, et faites au plus tôt descendre ici mon père. »
Therefore tel my father of al mine honour in Egypt, and of all that ye haue seene, and make haste, and bring my father hither.
14 Alors il se jeta au cou de Benjamin, son frère, et pleura; et Benjamin pleura sur son cou.
Then hee fell on his brother Beniamins necke, and wept, and Beniamin wept on his necke.
15 Il baisa aussi tous ses frères, et pleura en les tenant embrassés; puis ses frères s’entretinrent avec lui.
Moreouer, he kissed all his brethren, and wept vpon them: and afterwarde his brethren talked with him.
16 Le bruit se répandit dans la maison de Pharaon que les frères de Joseph étaient venus: ce qui fut agréable à Pharaon et à ses serviteurs.
And the tidinges came vnto Pharaohs house, so that they said, Iosephs brethre are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his seruants.
17 Et Pharaon dit à Joseph: « Dis à tes frères: Faites ceci: chargez vos bêtes et partez pour le pays de Canaan
Then Pharaoh said vnto Ioseph, Say to thy brethren, This doe ye, lade your beastes and depart, go to the land of Canaan,
18 et, ayant pris votre père et vos familles, revenez auprès de moi. Je vous donnerai ce qu’il y a de meilleur au pays d’Égypte, et vous mangerez la graisse du pays.
And take your father, and your houshoulds, and come to me, and I wil giue you the best of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eate of the fat of the land.
19 Tu es autorisé à leur dire: Faites ceci: prenez dans le pays d’Égypte des chariots pour vos enfants et pour vos femmes; amenez votre père et venez.
And I commaund thee, Thus doe ye, take you charets out of the lande of Egypt for your children, and for your wiues, and bring your father and come.
20 Que vos yeux ne s’arrêtent pas avec regret sur les objets que vous devrez laisser, car ce qu’il y a de meilleur dans tout le pays d’Égypte est à votre disposition. »
Also regarde not your stuffe: for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.
21 Les fils d’Israël firent ainsi; Joseph leur donna des chariots, selon l’ordre de Pharaon, ainsi que des provisions pour la route.
And the children of Israel did so: and Ioseph gaue them charets according to the commandement of Pharaoh: hee gaue them vitaile also for the iourney.
22 Il leur donna à tous des vêtements de rechange, et il donna à Benjamin trois cents pièces d’argent et cinq vêtements de rechange.
He gaue them all, none except, change of raiment: but vnto Beniamin he gaue three hundreth pieces of siluer, and fiue sutes of raiment.
23 Il envoya également à son père dix ânes chargés des meilleurs produits de l’Égypte, et dix ânesses chargées de blé, de pain et de vivres, pour son père pendant le voyage.
And vnto his father likewise hee sent ten hee asses laden with the best things of Egypt, and ten shee asses laden with wheate, and bread and meate for his father by the way.
24 Puis il congédia ses frères, qui partirent; et il leur dit: « Ne vous querellez pas en chemin. »
So sent he his brethren away, and they departed: and he sayde vnto them, Fall not out by the way.
25 Ayant monté de l’Égypte, ils arrivèrent dans le pays de Canaan, auprès de Jacob, leur père.
Then they went vp from Egypt, and came vnto the land of Canaan vnto Iaakob their father,
26 Ils lui dirent: « Joseph vit encore, c’est même lui qui gouverne tout le pays d’Égypte. » Mais son cœur resta froid, parce qu’il ne les croyait pas.
And tolde him, saying, Ioseph is yet aliue, and he also is gouernour ouer all the lande of Egypt, and Iaakobs heart failed: for he beleeued them not.
27 Ils lui rapportèrent alors toutes les paroles que Joseph avait dites. Lorsqu’il eut vu les chariots que Joseph avait envoyés pour le transporter, l’esprit de Jacob, leur père, se ranima,
And they told him al the words of Ioseph, which he had said vnto the: but when he saw the charets, which Ioseph had sent to cary him, then the spirit of Iaakob their father reuiued.
28 et Israël dit: « C’est assez! Joseph, mon fils, vit encore! j’irai et je le verrai avant de mourir. »
And Israel said, I haue inough: Ioseph my sonne is yet aliue: I will go and see him yer I die.
