Ézéchiel 7
1 La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:
And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying, “And you, son of man, Thus said Lord YHWH to the ground of Israel:
2 Et toi, fils de l’homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh au pays d’Israël: La fin! La fin vient sur les quatre coins de la terre!
An end, the end has come on the four corners of the land.
3 Maintenant la fin vient sur toi; je vais donner cours à ma colère contre toi; je te jugerai d’après tes œuvres; je ferai retomber sur toi toutes tes abominations.
Now [is] the end for you, And I have sent My anger on you, And judged you according to your ways, And set all your abominations against you.
4 Mon œil ne t’épargnera pas, et je serai sans pitié; car je ferai retomber sur toi tes œuvres, et tes abominations seront au milieu de toi; et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.
And My eye has no pity on you, nor do I spare, For I set your ways against you, And your abominations are in your midst, And you have known that I [am] YHWH.
5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Un malheur unique! Un malheur! Voici qu’il arrive!
Thus said Lord YHWH: Calamity, a single calamity, behold, it has come.
6 Une fin vient! La fin arrive! Elle s’éveille contre toi; voici qu’elle arrive!
An end has come, the end has come, It has awoken for you, behold, it has come.
7 Ton sort est venu, habitant du pays; le temps vient, le jour est proche! Du tumulte!... et non le cri de joie sur les montagnes.
The circlet has come to you, O inhabitant of the land! The time has come, a day of trouble [is] near, And not the shouting of mountains.
8 Maintenant, je vais sans tarder répandre mon courroux sur toi; j’assouvirai sur toi ma colère, je te jugerai selon tes voies, et je ferai retomber sur toi toutes tes abominations.
Now shortly I pour out My fury on you, And have completed My anger against you, And judged you according to your ways, And set all your abominations against you.
9 Mon œil n’épargnera pas, et je serai sans pitié; je ferai retomber sur toi tes œuvres, tes abominations seront au milieu de toi; et vous saurez que c’est moi, Yahweh, qui frappe!
And My eye does not pity, nor do I spare, I give to you according to your ways, And your abominations are in your midst, And you have known that [it is] I, YHWH, striking.
10 Voici le jour; voici qu’il vient; ton sort est arrivé; la verge fleurit, l’orgueil éclôt.
Behold, the day, behold, it has come, The circlet has gone forth, The rod has blossomed, the pride has flourished.
11 La violence s’élève, pour être la verge de l’impiété. Il ne restera rien d’eux, ni de leur multitude, ni de leur tumulte, et ils n’auront plus d’éclat.
The violence has risen to a rod of wickedness, There is none of them, nor of their multitude, Nor of their noise, nor is there wailing for them.
12 Le temps vient, le jour approche! Que l’acheteur ne se réjouisse pas, et que le vendeur ne s’afflige point; car la colère va éclater sur toute leur multitude.
The time has come, the day has arrived, The buyer does not rejoice, And the seller does not become a mourner, For wrath [is] to all its multitude.
13 Le vendeur ne rentrera pas en possession de ce qu’il aura vendu, fût-il encore parmi les vivants; car la vision contre toute leur multitude ne sera pas révoquée, et nul par son péché n’assurera sa vie.
For the seller does not turn to the sold thing, And yet their life [is] among the living, For the vision [is] to all its multitude, It does not turn back, And none strengthens his life by his iniquity.
14 On sonne la trompette, et tout est prêt; mais personne ne marche au combat, car ma colère est contre toute leur multitude.
They have blown with a horn to prepare the whole, And none is going to battle, For My wrath [is] to all its multitude.
15 Au dehors, l’épée; au dedans, la peste et la famine; celui qui est aux champs mourra par l’épée, et celui qui est dans la ville, la famine et la peste le dévoreront.
The sword [is] outside, And the pestilence and the famine within, He who is in a field dies by sword, And he who is in a city—Famine and pestilence devour him.
16 Si des fugitifs parmi eux s’enfuient, ils erreront sur les montagnes comme les colombes des vallées, tous gémissant, chacun pour son péché.
And their fugitives have escaped away, And they have been on the mountains As doves of the valleys, All of them making a noise—each for his iniquity.
17 Toutes les mains sont défaillantes, et tous les genoux se fondent en eau.
All the hands are feeble, and all knees go [as] waters.
18 Ils se revêtent de sacs, et la terreur les enveloppe; la confusion est sur tous les visages, et toutes les têtes sont rasées.
And they have girded on sackcloth, And trembling has covered them, And shame [is] on all faces, And baldness on all their heads.
19 Ils jetteront leur argent dans les rues, et leur or sera pour eux de l’ordure; leur argent et leur or ne pourront les délivrer, au jour de la colère de Yahweh; ils n’en rassasieront pas leur âme, et n’en rempliront pas leurs entrailles; car c’est là ce qui les a fait tomber dans l’iniquité.
They cast their silver into out-places, And their gold becomes impurity. Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them, In a day of the wrath of YHWH, They do not satisfy their soul, And they do not fill their bowels, For it has been the stumbling-block of their iniquity.
20 Des joyaux dont ils se paraient, ils faisaient leur orgueil; ils en fabriquaient leurs abominations, leurs idoles. C’est pourquoi je changerai tout cela en ordure,
As for the beauty of his ornament, He set it for excellence, And the images of their abominations, Their detestable things—they made in it, Therefore I have given it to them for impurity,
21 et je le livrerai en pillage aux mains des étrangers, en proie aux impies de la terre, — et ils le souilleront.
And I have given it into the hand of the strangers for a prey, And to the wicked of the land for a spoil, And they have defiled it.
22 Je détournerai d’eux mon visage, et on souillera mon trésor; des hommes de violence y entreront et le souilleront.
And I have turned My face from them, And they have defiled My hidden place, Indeed, destroyers have come into it, and defiled it.
23 Prépare les chaînes; car le pays est rempli d’attentats, et la ville de violences.
Make the chain; for the land Has been full of bloody judgments, And the city has been full of violence.
24 Et je ferai venir les plus méchants d’entre les peuples, et ils s’empareront de leurs maisons, et ils mettront fin à l’orgueil des puissants; et leurs lieux saints seront profanés.
And I have brought in the wicked of the nations, And they have possessed their houses, And I have caused the excellence of the strong to cease, And those sanctifying them have been defiled.
25 La ruine vient; ils chercheront la paix, et il n’y en aura point.
Destruction has come, And they have sought peace, and there is none.
26 Il arrivera malheur sur malheur, et nouvelle sur nouvelle; et ils chercheront des visions auprès des prophètes, et la loi fera défaut au prêtre, et le conseil aux anciens.
Disaster comes on disaster, and report is on report, And they have sought a vision from a prophet, And law perishes from [the] priest, And counsel from [the] elderly,
27 Le roi sera dans le deuil, le prince se vêtira de tristesse, et les mains du peuple du pays trembleront. Je les traiterai d’après leurs œuvres, je les jugerai selon leurs mérites; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh.
The king becomes a mourner, And a prince puts on desolation, And the hands of the people of the land are troubled, I deal with them from their own way, And I judge them with their own judgments, And they have known that I [am] YHWH!”
