Ézéchiel 34
1 La parole de Yahweh me fut [adressée] en ces termes:
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
2 « Fils de l’homme, prophétise sur les pasteurs d’Israël; prophétise et dis-leur, à ces pasteurs: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Malheur aux pasteurs d’Israël, qui n’ont fait que se paître eux-mêmes! N’est-ce pas le troupeau que les pasteurs [doivent] paître?
Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, to the shepherds, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
3 Vous mangiez la graisse, vous vous revêtiez de la laine, vous tuiez ce qui était gras; vous ne paissiez pas le troupeau.
Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill that which is fatted; but ye feed not the flock.
4 Vous n’avez pas fortifié les [brebis] débiles, vous n’avez pas soigné celle qui était malade, vous n’avez pas pansé celle qui était blessée, vous n’avez pas ramené celle qui était égarée, vous n’avez pas cherché celle qui était perdue; mais vous avez dominé sur elles avec violence et cruauté.
The weak do ye not strengthen, and the sick do ye not heal, and the wounded do ye not bind up; ye bring not back that which hath been driven away, neither seek ye that which hath been lost; but with force and with cruelty do ye rule them.
5 Et elles se sont dispersées, faute de pasteur; elles sont devenues la proie de toutes les bêtes des champs, et elles se sont dispersées.
Therefore are they scattered abroad, because there is no shepherd, and they are food to all the beasts of the field, or are scattered abroad.
6 Mes brebis sont errantes sur toutes les montagnes, et sur toute colline élevée; sur toute la face du pays mes brebis ont été dispersées, et personne n’en a souci, et personne ne les recherche.
My sheep wander through all the mountains, and upon every high hill; yea, over the whole face of the land is my flock scattered, and none careth for them, or seeketh them.
7 C’est pourquoi, ô pasteurs, écoutez la parole de Yahweh:
Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah:
8 Je suis vivant, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh: Parce que mes brebis ont été [mises] au pillage, et que mes brebis sont devenues la proie de toutes les bêtes sauvages, faute de pasteur, et parce que mes pasteurs ne prenaient pas souci de mes brebis, mais que ces pasteurs se paissaient eux-mêmes et ne paissaient pas mes brebis,
As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely, because my flock is become a prey, and my flock is become meat to all the beasts of the field because there is no shepherd, and because my shepherds search not for my flock, and feed themselves, and feed not my flock, —
9 à cause de cela, ô pasteurs, écoutez la parole de Yahweh:
therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah.
10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je [viens] aux pasteurs; je redemanderai à leurs mains mes brebis; et je ne leur laisserai plus de troupeau à paître, et les pasteurs ne se paîtront plus eux-mêmes; j’arracherai mes brebis à leur bouche, et elles ne seront plus pour eux une proie à dévorer.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, and they shall not be meat for them.
11 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Me voici; je veux moi-même prendre souci de mes brebis, et je les passerai en revue.
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold I, even I, will seek my flock, and look after them;
12 Comme un pasteur passe en revue son troupeau, au jour où il se trouve au milieu de ses brebis éparses, ainsi je passerai en revue mes brebis, et je les retirerai de tous les lieux où elles ont été dispersées, en un jour de nuages et de ténèbres.
as a shepherd looketh after his flock in the day when he is among his sheep that are scattered, so will I look after my sheep, and will deliver them out of all the places where they have been scattered in the day of clouds and darkness.
13 Je les ferai sortir [du milieu] des peuples, et je les rassemblerai des [divers] pays; je les ramènerai sur leur sol, et je les ferai paître sur les montagnes d’Israël, dans les vallées et dans tous les lieux habités du pays.
And I will bring them out from the nations, and gather them from the countries; and I will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel, in the valleys, and in all the dwelling-places of the land.
14 Je les ferai paître dans de bons pâturages, et leur bercail sera sur les hautes montagnes d’Israël; là elles reposeront dans un bon bercail, et elles paîtront dans un gras pâturage, sur les montagnes d’Israël.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be; there shall they lie down in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
15 Moi je paîtrai mes brebis, moi, je les ferai reposer, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.
I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord Jehovah.
16 Je chercherai celle qui était perdue, je ramènerai celle qui était égarée, je panserai celle qui est blessée, et je fortifierai celle qui est malade; mais celle qui est grasse et celle qui est forte, je les détruirai; je les paîtrai avec justice.
I will seek that which was lost, and bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen the sick; but the fat and the strong will I destroy; I will feed them as they deserve.
17 Et vous, mes brebis, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je vais juger entre brebis et brebis, entre les béliers et les boucs.
And as for you, O my sheep, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will judge between the weak of the flock and the strong ones, even the rams and the he-goats.
18 Est-ce [trop] peu pour vous de paître un bon pâturage, que vous fouliez de vos pieds le reste de votre pâture; ou de boire des eaux limpides, que vous troubliez le reste avec vos pieds?
Seemeth it a small thing to you to eat up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to drink of the clear waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
19 Et mes brebis devraient paître ce que vos pieds ont foulé, et boire ce que vos pieds ont troublé!
and that my sheep eat that which ye have trodden with your feet, and drink that which ye have fouled with your feet?
20 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Me voici; je vais juger entre la brebis grasse et la brebis maigre.
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah to them: Behold I, even I, will judge between the fat and the lean of the flock.
21 Parce que vous avez heurté du flanc et de l’épaule, et frappé de vos cornes toutes les [brebis] débiles jusqu’à ce que vous les eussiez chassées dehors,
Because ye thrust with your side and with your shoulder, and push all the weak with your horns, till ye scatter them abroad,
22 je sauverai mes brebis, et elles ne seront plus au pillage, et je jugerai entre brebis et brebis.
therefore will I save my sheep, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
23 Je leur susciterai un seul pasteur, — et il les fera paître, — mon serviteur David; c’est lui qui les paîtra, et c’est lui qui sera pour elles un pasteur.
And I will raise up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
24 Moi, Yahweh, je serai leur Dieu, et mon serviteur David sera prince au milieu d’elles; moi, Yahweh, j’ai parlé.
And I, Jehovah, will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them. I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
25 Je conclurai avec elles une alliance de paix; je ferai disparaître du pays les bêtes féroces, et ils habiteront en sécurité dans le désert, et ils dormiront dans les forêts.
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, so that they shall dwell safely in the desert, and sleep in the woods.
26 Je ferai d’eux et des environs de ma colline une bénédiction; je ferai tomber la pluie en sa saison, ce seront des pluies de bénédiction.
And I will make them, and the places round about my hill, a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season; showers rich in blessings shall there be.
27 Et l’arbre des champs donnera son fruit, et la terre donnera ses produits; ils seront en sécurité sur leur terre, et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh, quand je briserai les barres de leur joug, et que je les délivrerai de la main de ceux qui les asservissent.
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase; and they shall be secure in their land, and shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall break the bands of their yoke and deliver them out of the hand of them that made them servants.
28 Ils ne seront plus un butin pour les nations, les bêtes de la terre ne les dévoreront plus, et ils habiteront en sécurité, sans que personne les effraie.
And they shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell in security, and none shall make them afraid.
29 Je ferai pousser pour eux une végétation de renom; ils ne seront plus enlevés par la famine dans le pays, et ils ne porteront plus l’opprobre des nations.
And I will raise up for them a plantation for my glory; and they shall no more be consumed with hunger in the land, neither shall they bear the reproach of the nations any more.
30 Et ils sauront que moi, Yahweh, leur Dieu, je suis avec eux, et que eux, la maison d’Israël, ils sont mon peuple, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.
Then shall they know, that I, Jehovah, their God, am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord Jehovah.
31 Et vous mes brebis, troupeau que je pais, vous êtes hommes; et moi, je suis votre Dieu, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. »
For ye, my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord Jehovah.
