2 Timothée 4
1 Je t’adjure devant Dieu et devant le Christ Jésus, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, et par son apparition et son règne,
Now then, in the presence of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge both living and dead, with a view to His appearing and His Kingdom, I give you this charge:
2 prêche la parole, insiste à temps et à contre temps, reprends, menace, exhorte, avec une entière patience et toujours en instruisant.
Proclaim the Word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and exhort, with lots of patience and teaching.
3 Car un temps viendra où les hommes ne supporteront plus la saine doctrine; mais ils se donneront une foule de docteurs, suivant leurs convoitises et avides de ce qui peut chatouiller leurs oreilles;
Because the time will come when they will not tolerate the sound doctrine; rather, they will accumulate for themselves a great many teachers who will tickle their ears according to their lusts
4 ils les fermeront à la vérité pour les ouvrir à des fables.
—yes, they will turn their ears away from the Truth and be turned aside to fables.
5 Mais toi, sois circonspect en toutes choses, endure la souffrance, fais l’œuvre d’un prédicateur de l’Evangile, sois tout entier à ton ministère.
But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6 Car, pour moi, je sers déjà de libation, et le moment de mon départ est proche.
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.
7 J’ai combattu le bon combat, j’ai achevé ma course, j’ai gardé la foi;
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8 il ne me reste plus qu’à recevoir la couronne de justice, que me donnera en ce jour-là le Seigneur, le juste Juge, et non seulement à moi, mais à tous ceux qui auront aimé son avènement.
Now the crown of the righteousness is reserved for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that Day; and not only to me, but also to all those who have longed for His appearing.
9 Tâche de me rejoindre au plus tôt;
Do your best to come to me quickly;
10 car Démas, m’a quitté par amour pour le siècle présent, et il est parti pour Thessalonique; Crescent est allé en Galatie, Tite en Dalmatie. (aiōn g165)
for Demas, loving this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica—Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
11 Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc et amène-le avec toi, car il m’est d’un grand secours pour le ministère.
Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.
12 J’ai envoyé Tychique à Ephèse.
Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.
13 En venant, apporte le manteau que j’ai laissé à Troas chez Carpus, ainsi que les livres, surtout les parchemins.
Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.
14 Alexandre, le fondeur, m’a fait bien du mal: le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses œuvres.
Alexander the coppersmith did me a lot of harm; may the Lord repay him according to his deeds.
15 Toi aussi, tiens-toi en garde contre lui, car il a fait une forte opposition à notre prédication.
You also guard against him, because he strongly opposed our words.
16 Personne ne m’a assisté dans ma première défense; tous m’ont abandonné: que cela ne leur soit pas imputé!
At my first defense no one came to help me, but all deserted me. May it not be held against them.
17 Cependant, le Seigneur m’a assisté et m’a fortifié afin que la parole fût pleinement annoncée par moi et entendue de toutes les nations; et j’ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the nations might hear. Also, I was delivered out of a lion's mouth;
18 Le Seigneur me délivrera de toute œuvre mauvaise, et il me sauvera en me faisant entrer dans son royaume céleste. A lui soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen! (aiōn g165)
and the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and save me into His heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

20 Eraste est resté à Corinthe, et j’ai laissé Trophime malade à Milet.
Erastus stayed in Corinth, while I left Trophimus sick in Miletus.
21 Hâte-toi de venir avant l’hiver. Eubule te salue, ainsi que Pudens, Linus, Claudia et tous les frères.
Do your best to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the brothers.
22 Que le Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec ton esprit! Que la grâce soit avec vous! Amen!
The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The Grace be with you. Amen.
