1 Les fils des prophètes dirent à Elisée: « Voici que le lieu où nous sommes assis devant toi est trop étroit pour nous.
and to say son: child [the] prophet to(wards) Elisha behold please [the] place which we to dwell there to/for face your narrow from us
2 Allons jusqu’au Jourdain; nous prendrons chacun une poutre, et nous nous y ferons un lieu où nous puissions l’habiter. » Elisée répondit: « Allez. »
to go: went please till [the] Jordan and to take: take from there man: anyone beam one and to make to/for us there place to/for to dwell there and to say to go: went
3 Et l’un d’eux dit: « Consens à venir avec tes serviteurs. » Il répondit: « J’irai »;
and to say [the] one be willing please and to go: went with servant/slave your and to say I to go: went
4 et il partit avec eux. Arrivés au Jourdain, ils coupèrent du bois.

5 Comme l’un d’eux abattait une poutre, le fer tomba dans l’eau; il poussa un cri et dit: « Hélas! mon seigneur!... et il était emprunté! »

6 L’homme de Dieu dit: « Où est-il tombé? » Et il lui montra l’endroit. Alors Elisée coupa un morceau de bois, le jeta en cet endroit et le fer surnagea.
and to say man [the] God where? to fall: fall and to see: see him [obj] [the] place and to shear tree: stick and to throw there [to] and to flow [the] iron
7 Et il dit: « Prends-le. » Il avança la main et le prit.
and to say to exalt to/for you and to send: reach hand his and to take: take him
8 Le roi de Syrie était en guerre avec Israël. Ayant tenu conseil avec ses serviteurs, il dit: « Mon camp sera dans tel et tel lieu. »
and king Syria to be to fight in/on/with Israel and to advise to(wards) servant/slave his to/for to say to(wards) place someone someone encampment my
9 Mais l’homme de Dieu envoya dire au roi d’Israël: « Garde-toi de traverser ce lieu, car les Syriens y descendent. »

10 Et le roi d’Israël envoya des gens au lieu que lui avait dit et signalé l’homme de Dieu, et il s’y tint en garde, non pas une fois ni deux fois.

11 Le cœur du roi de Syrie fut troublé de cette manœuvre; il appela ses serviteurs et il leur dit: « Ne voulez-vous me faire connaître lequel des nôtres est pour le roi d’Israël? »
and to rage heart king Syria upon [the] word: because [the] this and to call: call to to(wards) servant/slave his and to say to(wards) them not to tell to/for me who? from which/that to/for us to(wards) king Israel
12 Un de ses serviteurs répondit: « Personne, ô roi, mon seigneur; mais Elisée, le prophète, qui est en Israël, rapporte au roi d’Israël les paroles que tu prononces dans ta chambre à coucher. »

13 Le roi dit: « Allez et voyez où il est, et je l’enverrai prendre. » On vint lui faire ce rapport: « Voici qu’il est à Dothan. »

14 Il envoya donc là des chevaux, des chars et une forte troupe, qui arrivèrent une nuit, et enveloppèrent la ville.

15 Le serviteur de l’homme de Dieu se leva de bon matin et sortit; et voici qu’une troupe entourait la ville, avec des chevaux et des chars. Et le serviteur dit à Elisée: « Ah! Mon seigneur, comment ferons-nous? »
and to rise to minister man [the] God to/for to arise: rise and to come out: come and behold strength: soldiers to turn: surround [obj] [the] city and horse and chariot and to say youth his to(wards) him alas! lord my how? to make: do
16 Il répondit: « Ne crains rien; car ceux qui sont avec nous sont en plus grand nombre que ceux qui sont avec eux. »
and to say not to fear for many which with us from whence with them
17 Elisée pria et dit: « Yahweh, ouvre ses yeux, pour qu’il voie. » Et Yahweh ouvrit les yeux du serviteur, et il vit, et voici que la montagne était pleine de chevaux et de chars de feu, autour d’Elisée.
and to pray Elisha and to say LORD to open please [obj] eye his and to see: see and to open LORD [obj] eye [the] youth and to see: see and behold [the] mountain: mount to fill horse and chariot fire around Elisha
18 Les Syriens descendirent vers l’homme de Dieu. Elisée pria Yahweh et dit: « Daigne frapper d’aveuglement cette nation » Et Yahweh les frappa d’aveuglement, selon la parole d’Elisée.
and to go down to(wards) him and to pray Elisha to(wards) LORD and to say to smite please [obj] [the] nation [the] this in/on/with blindness and to smite them in/on/with blindness like/as word Elisha
19 Elisée leur dit: « Ce n’est pas ici le chemin, et ce n’est pas ici la ville; suivez-moi et je vous conduirai vers l’homme que vous cherchez. » Et il les conduisit à Samarie.
and to say to(wards) them Elisha not this [the] way: road and not this [the] city to go: follow after me and to go: take [obj] you to(wards) [the] man which to seek [emph?] and to go: take [obj] them Samaria [to]
20 Lorsqu’ils furent entrés dans Samarie, Elisée dit: « Yahweh, ouvrez les yeux de ces gens pour qu’ils voient! » Et Yahweh ouvrit leurs yeux, et ils virent, et voici qu’ils étaient au milieu de Samarie.

21 Le roi d’Israël, en les voyant, dit à Elisée: « Les frapperai-je, les frapperai-je, mon père? »
and to say king Israel to(wards) Elisha like/as to see: see he [obj] them to smite to smite father my
22 Et Elisée répondit: « Tu ne les frapperas point. Ceux que tu as faits prisonniers avec ton épée et ton arc, frappe-les; mais place devant ceux-ci du pain et de l’eau, afin qu’ils mangent et boivent, et qu’ils s’en aillent ensuite vers leur maître. »

23 Le roi d’Israël leur fit servir un grand repas, et ils mangèrent et burent; puis il les renvoya, et ils s’en allèrent vers leur maître. Et les bandes des Syriens ne revinrent plus sur le territoire d’Israël.
and to feed to/for them feast great: large and to eat and to drink and to send: depart them and to go: went to(wards) lord their and not to add: again still band Syria to/for to come (in): come in/on/with land: country/planet Israel
24 Après cela, Benhadad, roi de Syrie, ayant rassemblé toute son armée, monta et assiégea Samarie.
and to be after so and to gather Ben-hadad Ben-hadad king Syria [obj] all camp his and to ascend: rise and to confine upon Samaria
25 Il y eut une grande famine à Samarie; et voici qu’on l’assiégeait si durement qu’une tête d’âne valait quatre-vingt sicles d’argent, et le quart d’un cab de fiente de pigeon cinq sicles d’argent.
and to be famine great: large in/on/with Samaria and behold to confine upon her till to be head donkey in/on/with eighty silver: money and fourth [the] kab (quano *Q(K)*) in/on/with five silver: money
26 Comme le roi passait sur la muraille, une femme cria vers lui en disant: « Sauve-moi, ô roi mon seigneur! »
and to be king Israel to pass upon [the] wall and woman to cry to(wards) him to/for to say to save [emph?] lord my [the] king
27 Il dit: « Si Yahweh ne te sauve pas, avec quoi pourrais-je te sauver? Avec le produit de l’aire ou du pressoir »
and to say not to save you LORD from where? to save you from [the] threshing floor or from [the] wine
28 Et le roi lui dit: « Qu’as-tu? » Elle dit: « Cette femme m’a dit: Donne ton fils, nous le mangerons aujourd’hui, et demain nous mangerons le mien.
and to say to/for her [the] king what? to/for you and to say [the] woman [the] this to say to(wards) me to give: give [obj] son: child your and to eat him [the] day and [obj] son: child my to eat tomorrow
29 Nous avons donc fait cuire mon fils, et nous l’avons mangé. Et le jour suivant je lui ai dit: Donne ton fils et nous le mangerons. Mais elle a caché son fils. »
and to boil [obj] son: child my and to eat him and to say to(wards) her in/on/with day [the] another to give: give [obj] son: child your and to eat him and to hide [obj] son: child her
30 Lorsque le roi entendit les paroles de cette femme, il déchira ses vêtements en passant sur la muraille; et le peuple vit, et voici qu’il avait par dessous un sac sur son corps.
and to be like/as to hear: hear [the] king [obj] word [the] woman and to tear [obj] garment his and he/she/it to pass upon [the] wall and to see: see [the] people and behold [the] sackcloth upon flesh his from house: inside
31 Le roi dit: « Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur, si la tête d’Elisée, fils de Saphat, reste aujourd’hui sur lui. »
and to say thus to make: do to/for me God and thus to add if to stand: stand head Elisha son: child Shaphat upon him [the] day: today
32 Or, pendant qu’Elisée était assis dans sa maison et que les anciens étaient assis auprès de lui, le roi envoya quelqu’un d’auprès de lui. Mais avant que le messager fut arrivé auprès d’Elisée, celui-ci dit aux anciens: « Savez-vous que ce fils d’assassin envoie quelqu’un pour m’ôter la tête? Faites attention: quand le messager viendra, fermez la porte et pressez-le avec la porte. Mais le bruit des pas de son maître ne se fait-il pas entendre derrière lui?… »

33 Il leur parlait encore, et déjà le messager était descendu vers lui; et il dit: « Voici, c’est un mal qui vient de Yahweh; qu’ai-je à espérer encore de Yahweh »
still he to speak: speak with them and behold [the] messenger to go down to(wards) him and to say behold this [the] distress: harm from with LORD what? to wait: wait to/for LORD still
