2 Rois 15

1 La vingt-septième année de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël, régna Azarias, fils d’Amasias, roi de Juda.

In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah, king of Judah, began to reign.

2 Il avait seize ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna cinquante-deux ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère se nommait Jéchélia, de Jérusalem.

He was sixteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

3 Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de Yahweh, selon tout ce qu’avait fait Amasias, son père.

And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

4 Seulement les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple continuait à offrir des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux.

Only, the high places were not removed: the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

5 Yahweh frappa le roi, qui fut lépreux jusqu’au jour de sa mort et demeura dans une maison écartée. Joatham, fils du roi, était à la tête de la maison, jugeant le peuple du pays.

And Jehovah smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

6 Le reste des actes d’Azarias, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?

And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

7 Azarias se coucha avec ses pères, et on l’enterra avec ses pères dans la cité de David; et Joatham, son fils, régna à sa place.

And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David; and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 La trente-huitième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël à Samarie; son règne fut de six mois.

In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria, six months.

9 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahweh, comme avaient fait ses pères; il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

10 Sellum, fils de Jabès, conspira contre lui et, l’ayant frappé devant le peuple, il le mit à mort, et régna à sa place.

And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

11 Le reste des actes de Zacharie, voici que cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.

And the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

12 Telle était la parole de Yahweh, qu’il avait dite à Jéhu: « Tes fils jusqu’à la quatrième génération seront assis sur le trône d’Israël. » Et il en fut ainsi.

This was the word of Jehovah which he spoke to Jehu saying, Thy sons shall sit upon the throne of Israel unto the fourth [generation]. And so it came to pass.

13 Sellum, fils de Jabès, devint roi la trente-neuvième année d’Ozias, roi de Juda, et il régna pendant un mois à Samarie.

Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

14 Manahem, fils de Gadi, monta de Thersa et, étant venu à Samarie, il frappa dans Samarie Sellum, fils de Jabès, et le mit à mort; et il régna à sa place.

And Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

15 Le reste des actes de Sellum, et la conspiration qu’il ourdit, voici que cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.

And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

16 Alors Manahem, étant parti de Thersa, frappa Thapsa et tous ceux qui y étaient, avec son territoire; il la frappa, parce qu’elle n’avait pas ouvert ses portes, et il fendit le ventre de toutes les femmes enceintes.

Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and its territory from Tirzah, because they did not open [to him]; and he smote [it]: all the women in it that were with child he ripped up.

17 La trente-neuvième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Manahem, fils de Gadi, devint roi sur Israël; il régna dix ans à Samarie.

In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel, for ten years, in Samaria.

18 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahweh, il ne se détourna pas, tant qu’il vécut, des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not, all his days, from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

19 Phul, roi d’Assyrie, vint dans le pays, et Manahem donna à Phul mille talents d’argent pour qu’il lui portât secours, et qu’il affermît le royaume dans sa main.

Pul the king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to establish the kingdom in his hand.

20 Manahem leva cet argent sur Israël, sur tous ceux qui avaient de grandes richesses, afin de le donner au roi d’Assyrie; il exigea de chacun cinquante sicles d’argent. Le roi d’Assyrie s’en retourna et ne s’arrêta pas là, dans le pays.

And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, of all those who were wealthy, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. And the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

22 Manahem se coucha avec ses pères; et Phacéia, son fils, régna à sa place.

And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

23 La cinquantième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Phacéia, fils de Manahem, régna sur Israël à Samarie; son règne fut de deux ans.

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, for two years.

24 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahweh; il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

25 Phacée, fils de Romélias, son officier, conspira contre lui; il le frappa à Samarie dans la tour de la maison du roi, ainsi qu’Argob et Arié; il avait avec lui cinquante hommes d’entre les fils des Galaadites. Il fit mourir Phacéia, et régna à sa place.

And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the fortress of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites; and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.

And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 La cinquante-deuxième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Phacée, fils de Romélias, régna sur Israël à Samarie; son règne fut de vingt ans.

In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, for twenty years.

28 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahweh, il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, qui avait fait pécher Israël.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

29 Du temps de Phacée, roi d’Israël, Téglathphalasar, roi d’Assyrie, vint et prit Ajon, Abel-Beth-Machaa, Janoé, Cédès, Asor, Galaad et la Galilée, tout le pays de Nephthali, et il emmena captifs les habitants en Assyrie.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

30 Osée, fils d’Ela, ayant formé une conspiration contre Phacée, fils de Romélias, le frappa et le fit mourir; puis il régna à sa place, la vingtième année de Joatham, fils d’Ozias.

And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him and slew him; and he reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

31 Le reste des actes de Phacée, et tout ce qu’il a fait, voici que cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.

And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 La deuxième année de Phacée, fils de Romélias, roi d’Israël, régna Joatham, fils d’Ozias, roi de Juda.

In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, began to reign.

33 Il avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Jérusa, fille de Sadoc.

He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

34 Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de Yahweh; il agit entièrement comme avait agi Ozias, son père.

And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35 Seulement les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple continuait d’offrir des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux. Joatham bâtit la porte supérieure de la maison de Yahweh.

Only, the high places were not removed: the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. It was he who built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah.

36 Le reste des actes de Joatham, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?

And the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

37 Dans ce temps-là, Yahweh commença à envoyer contre Juda Rasin, roi de Syrie, et Phacée, fils de Romélias.

In those days Jehovah began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

38 Joatham se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la cité de David, son père. Achaz, son fils, régna à sa place.

And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
