2 Chroniques 4
1 Salomon fit un autel d’airain; sa longueur était de vingt coudées, sa largeur de vingt coudées, et sa hauteur de dix coudées.
And he makes an altar of bronze: twenty cubits its length, and twenty cubits its breadth, and ten cubits its height.
2 Il fit la mer d’airain fondu. Elle avait dix coudées d’un bord à l’autre, elle était entièrement ronde; sa hauteur était de cinq coudées, et un cordon de trente coudées mesurait sa circonférence.
And he makes the molten sea; ten by the cubit, from its edge to its edge, round in encompassment, and its height [is] five by the cubit, and a line of thirty by the cubit surrounds it around.
3 Des figures de bœufs l’entouraient au-dessous du bord, dix par coudée, faisant tout le tour de la mer, sur deux rangs; les bœufs étaient fondus avec elle en une seule pièce.
And the likeness of oxen [is] under it, encompassing it all around, ten to the cubit, surrounding the sea around; two rows of oxen are cast in its being cast.
4 Elle était posée sur douze bœufs, dont trois regardaient le nord, trois regardaient l’occident, trois regardaient le midi et trois regardaient l’orient; la mer était sur eux, et toute la partie postérieure de leur corps était cachée en dedans.
It is standing on twelve oxen, three facing the north, and three facing the west, and three facing the south, and three facing the east, and the sea [is] on them above, and all their back parts [are] within.
5 Son épaisseur était d’un palme, et son bord était semblable au bord d’une coupe, à une fleur de lis. Elle pouvait contenir trois mille baths.
And its thickness [is] a handbreadth, and its lip as the work of the lip of a cup flowered with lilies; holding [within]—it contains three thousand baths.
6 Il fit dix bassins, et en plaça cinq à droite et cinq à gauche pour qu’on s’y lave; on y nettoyait ce qui devait être offert en holocauste. La mer était destinée aux purifications des prêtres.
And he makes ten lavers, and puts five on the right, and five on the left, to wash with them; they purge the work of the burnt-offering with them; and the sea [is] for priests to wash with.
7 Il fit les dix chandeliers d’or, selon les prescriptions faites à leur égard, et il les plaça dans le Temple, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche.
And he makes the ten lampstands of gold, according to their ordinance, and places [them] in the temple, five on the right, and five on the left.
8 Il fit dix tables, et il les mit dans le Temple, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche. Il fit cent coupes d’or.
And he makes ten tables, and places [them] in the temple, five on the right, and five on the left; and he makes one hundred bowls of gold.
9 Il fit le parvis des prêtres et la grande cour, avec les portes pour la cour; il couvrit leurs battants d’airain.
And he makes the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and he has overlaid their doors with bronze.
10 Il plaça la mer du côté droit, à l’est, vers le sud.
And he has placed the sea on the right shoulder eastward, from toward the south.
11 Hiram fit les pots, les pelles et les coupes. C’est ainsi qu’Hiram acheva l’ouvrage qu’il fit pour le roi Salomon dans la maison de Dieu:
And Huram makes the pots, and the shovels, and the bowls, and Huram finishes to make the work that he made for King Solomon in the house of God;
12 les deux colonnes, les bourrelets et les chapiteaux qui sont sur le sommet des colonnes; les deux treillis pour couvrir les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux qui sont sur le sommet des colonnes;
two pillars, and the bowls, and the crowns on the heads of the two pillars, and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the crowns that [are] on the heads of the pillars;
13 les quatre cents grenades pour les deux treillis, deux rangées de grenades par treillis, pour couvrir les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux qui sont sur les colonnes.
and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, two rows of pomegranates for the one network, to cover the two bowls of the crowns that [are] on the front of the pillars.
14 Il fit les bases; il fit les bassins sur les bases;
And he has made the bases; and he has made the lavers on the bases;
15 la mer et les douze bœufs au-dessous;
the one sea, and the twelve oxen under it,
16 les pots, les pelles et les fourchettes. Maître Hiram fit tous ces ustensiles pour le roi Salomon, pour la maison de Yahweh; ils étaient d’airain poli.
and the pots, and the shovels, and the forks, and all their vessels, his father Huram has made for King Solomon, for the house of YHWH, of bronze purified.
17 Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans un sol argileux, entre Sochot et Saréda.
The king has cast them in the circuit of the Jordan, in the thick soil of the ground, between Succoth and Zeredathah.
18 Salomon fit tous ces ustensiles en très grande quantité, car le poids de l’airain ne fut pas vérifié.
And Solomon makes all these vessels in great abundance, that the weight of the bronze has not been searched out.
19 Salomon fit encore tous les autres ustensiles pour la maison de Dieu: l’autel d’or; les tables sur lesquelles on mettait les pains de proposition;
And Solomon makes all the vessels that [are for] the house of God, and the altar of gold, and the tables, and on them [is] Bread of the Presentation;
20 les chandeliers avec leurs lampes d’or pur, pour que, selon la loi, on les allume devant le sanctuaire;
and the lampstands, and their lamps, for their burning according to the ordinance, before the oracle, of gold refined;
21 les fleurs, les lampes et les mouchettes d’or, d’un or très pur;
and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold—it [is] the perfection of gold;
22 les couteaux, les coupes, les tasses et les encensoirs d’or pur, ainsi que les battants d’or pour la porte intérieure de la maison à l’entrée du Saint des saints, et pour la porte de la maison à l’entrée du temple.
and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and the censers, of gold refined, and the opening of the house, its innermost doors to the Holy of Holies, and the doors of the house to the temple, of gold.
