1 Samuel 8
1 Lorsque Samuel fut devenu vieux, il établit ses fils juges sur Israël.
And it was when he was old Samuel and he made sons his judges for Israel.
2 Son fils premier-né se nommait Joël, et le second Abia; ils jugeaient à Bersabée.
And it was [the] name of son his the firstborn Joel and [the] name of second his [was] Abijah judges in Beer Sheba.
3 Les fils de Samuel ne marchèrent pas sur ses traces; ils s’en détournaient pour le gain, recevaient des présents et violaient la justice.
And not they walked sons his (in ways his *Q(K)*) and they turned aside after unjust gain and they took a bribe and they turned aside justice.
4 Tous les anciens d’Israël s’assemblèrent et vinrent vers Samuel à Rama.
And they gathered together all [the] elders of Israel and they came to Samuel Ramah towards.
5 Ils lui dirent: « Voilà que tu es vieux, et tes fils ne marchent pas sur tes traces; établis donc sur nous un roi pour nous juger, comme en ont toutes les nations. »
And they said to him here! you you have become old and sons your not they have walked in ways your now appoint! for us a king to judge us like all the nations.
6 Ce langage déplut à Samuel parce qu’ils disaient: « Donne-nous un roi pour nous juger; » et Samuel pria Yahweh.
And it was displeasing the matter in [the] eyes of Samuel just when they said give! to us a king to judge us and he prayed Samuel to Yahweh.
7 Yahweh dit à Samuel: « Ecoute la voix du peuple dans tout ce qu’il te dira; car ce n’est pas toi qu’ils rejettent, c’est moi qu’ils rejettent, pour que je ne règne plus sur eux.
And he said Yahweh to Samuel listen to [the] voice of the people to all what they will say to you for not you they have rejected for me they have rejected from reigning over them.
8 Comme ils ont toujours agi à mon égard depuis le jour où je les ai fait monter d’Égypte jusqu’à présent, me délaissant pour servir d’autres dieux, ainsi ils agissent envers toi.
According to all the deeds which they have done from [the] day brought up I them from Egypt and until the day this and they have forsaken me and they have served gods other so they [are] doing also to you.
9 Et maintenant, écoute leur voix; mais dépose témoignage contre eux, et fais-leur connaître le droit du roi qui régnera sur eux. »
And now listen to voice their nevertheless for certainly you will warn them and you will tell to them [the] right[s] of the king who he will reign over them.
10 Samuel rapporta toutes les paroles de Yahweh au peuple qui lui demandait un roi.
And he spoke Samuel all [the] words of Yahweh to the people who were asking from with him a king.
11 Il dit: « Voici quel sera le droit du roi qui régnera sur vous: Il prendra vos fils, et il les mettra sur son char et parmi ses cavaliers, et ils courront devant son char.
And he said this it will be [the] right[s] of the king who he will reign over you sons your he will take and he will appoint [them] for himself in chariot[s] his and among horsemen his and they will run before chariot his.
12 Il s’en fera des chefs de mille et des chefs de cinquante; il leur fera labourer ses champs, récolter ses moissons, fabriquer ses armes de guerre et l’attirail de ses chars.
And to appoint [them] for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties and to plow plowing his and to harvest harvest his and to make [the] weapons of warfare his and [the] equipment of chariotry his.
13 Il prendra vos filles pour parfumeuses, pour cuisinières et pour boulangères.
And daughters your he will take to perfumers and to cooks and to bakers.
14 Vos champs, vos vignes et vos oliviers les meilleurs, il les prendra et les donnera à ses serviteurs.
And fields your and vineyards your and olive groves your good he will take and he will give [them] to servants his.
15 Il prendra la dîme de vos moissons et de vos vignes, et la donnera à ses courtisans et à ses serviteurs.
And seed your and vineyards your he will take a tenth and he will give [them] to officials his and to servants his.
16 Il prendra vos serviteurs et vos servantes, vos meilleurs bœufs et vos ânes, et les emploiera à ses ouvrages.
And [male] servants your and female servants your and young men your good and donkeys your he will take and he will use [them] for work his.
17 Il prendra la dîme de vos troupeaux, et vous-mêmes serez ses esclaves.
Flock[s] your he will take a tenth and you you will become of him servants.
18 Vous crierez en ce jour-là à cause de votre roi que vous vous serez choisi, mais Yahweh ne vous exaucera pas. »
And you will cry out in the day that because of king your whom you have chosen for yourselves and not he will answer Yahweh you in the day that.
19 Le peuple refusa d’écouter la voix de Samuel; ils dirent: « Non, mais il y aura un roi sur nous,
And they refused the people to listen to [the] voice of Samuel and they said No! for except a king he will be over us.
20 et nous serons, nous aussi, comme toutes les nations; notre roi nous jugera, il marchera à notre tête et conduira nos guerres. »
And we will be also we like all the nations and he will judge us king our and he will go out before us and he will fight battles our.
21 Après avoir entendu toutes les paroles du peuple, Samuel les redit aux oreilles de Yahweh.
And he heard Samuel all [the] words of the people and he spoke them in [the] ears of Yahweh.
22 Et Yahweh dit à Samuel: « Ecoute leur voix et établis un roi sur eux. » Alors Samuel dit aux hommes d’Israël: « Que chacun de vous s’en aille à sa ville. »
And he said Yahweh to Samuel listen to voice their and you will make king for them a king and he said Samuel to [the] people of Israel go each man to own city his.
