Sophonie 1
1 Parole de Yahvé qui fut adressée à Sophonie, fils de Cushi, fils de Guedalia, fils d'Amaria, fils d'Ézéchias, du temps de Josias, fils d'Amon, roi de Juda.
The word of the Lord, that was maad to Sofonye, sone of Chusi, sone of Godolie, sone of Amasie, sone of Ezechie, in the daies of Josie, the sone of Amon, king of Juda.
2 Je vais tout balayer de la surface de la terre, dit Yahvé.
Y gaderinge schal gadere alle thingis fro the face of erthe, seith the Lord;
3 Je balaierai l'homme et l'animal. Je balaierai les oiseaux du ciel, les poissons de la mer, et les tas de décombres avec les méchants. J'exterminerai l'homme de la surface de la terre, dit Yahvé.
Y gaderynge man and beeste, Y gaderynge volatils of heuene, and fischis of the see; and fallyngis of vnpitouse men schulen be, and Y schal leese men fro face of erthe, seith the Lord.
4 J'étendrai ma main contre Juda et contre tous les habitants de Jérusalem. J'exterminerai de ce lieu le reste de Baal, le nom des prêtres idolâtres et païens,
And Y schal stretche out myn hond on Juda, and on alle dwellers of Jerusalem; and Y schal lese fro this place the relifs of Baal, and the names of keperis of housis, with prestis;
5 ceux qui adorent l'armée du ciel sur les toits, ceux qui adorent et jurent par Yahvé et qui jurent aussi par Malcom,
and hem that worschipen on roouys the knyythod of heuene, and worschipen, and sweren in the Lord, and sweren in Melchon;
6 ceux qui se sont détournés de Yahvé, ceux qui n'ont pas cherché Yahvé et ne l'ont pas recherché.
and whiche ben turned awei bihynde the bak of the Lord, and whiche `souyten not the Lord, nether enserchiden hym.
7 Taisez-vous devant le Seigneur Yahvé, car le jour de Yahvé est proche. Car Yahvé a préparé un sacrifice. Il a consacré ses hôtes.
Be ye stille fro the face of the Lord God, for niy is the dai of the Lord; for the Lord made redi a sacrifice, halewide hise clepid men.
8 Au jour du sacrifice de l'Éternel, je punirai les princes, les fils du roi et tous ceux qui sont revêtus de vêtements étrangers.
And it schal be, in the dai of sacrifice of the Lord, Y schal visite on princes, and on sones of the kyng, and on alle that ben clothid with pilgrimys, ether straunge, clothing.
9 En ce jour-là, je punirai tous ceux qui sautent par-dessus le seuil, qui remplissent la maison de leur maître par la violence et la tromperie.

10 En ce jour-là, dit l'Éternel, il y aura un cri de la porte des poissons, un gémissement du deuxième quartier, et un grand fracas des collines.
And ther schal be in that dai, seith the Lord, a vois of cry fro the yate of fischis, and yellynge fro the secounde yate, and greet defoulyng fro litle hillis.
11 Gémissez, habitants de Maktesh, car tout le peuple de Canaan est perdu! Tous ceux qui étaient chargés d'argent sont exterminés.
Yelle ye, dwelleris of Pila; al the puple of Canaan was stille togidere, alle men wlappid in siluer perischiden.
12 En ce temps-là, je fouillerai Jérusalem avec des lampes, et je punirai les hommes installés sur leur lie, qui disent en leur cœur: « L'Éternel ne fera pas le bien, il ne fera pas le mal. »
And it schal be, in that tyme Y schal seke Jerusalem with lanternes, and Y schal visite on alle men piyt in her darstis, whiche seien in her hertis, The Lord schal not do wel, and he schal not do yuele.
13 Leurs richesses deviendront un butin, et leurs maisons une désolation. Oui, ils construiront des maisons, mais ils ne les habiteront pas. Ils planteront des vignes, mais ils ne boiront pas leur vin.
And the strengthe of hem schal be in to rauyschyng, and the housis of hem in to desert; and thei schulen bilde housis, and schulen not enhabite; and thei schulen plaunte vyneyerdis, and thei schulen not drynke the wyn of hem.
14 Le grand jour de Yahvé est proche. Elle est proche et se précipite, la voix du jour de Yahvé. Le puissant y pousse des cris amers.
Nyy is the greet dai of the Lord, niy and swift ful myche; the vois of the dai of the Lord is bittir, a strong man schal be in tribulacioun there.
15 Ce jour-là est un jour de colère, un jour de détresse et d'angoisse, un jour de trouble et de ruine, un jour de ténèbres et d'obscurité, un jour de nuages et d'obscurité,
`The ilke dai is a dai of wraththe, dai of tribulacioun and angwisch, dai of nedynesse and wretchidnesse, dai of derknessis and myist, dai of cloude and whirlewynd,
16 un jour de trompette et d'alarme contre les villes fortes et contre les hauts remparts.

17 Je ferai venir sur les hommes une telle détresse qu'ils marcheront comme des aveugles, parce qu'ils auront péché contre Yahvé. Leur sang sera répandu comme de la poussière et leur chair comme du fumier.
And Y schal troble men, and thei schulen walke as blynde, for thei han synned ayens the Lord; and the blood of hem schal be sched out as erthe, and the bodies of hem schulen be as tordis.
18 Ni leur argent, ni leur or ne pourront les délivrer au jour de la colère de l'Éternel, mais tout le pays sera dévoré par le feu de sa jalousie, car il fera périr, terriblement périr, tous les habitants du pays.
