Zacharie 8

1 La parole de l'Éternel des armées m'a été adressée.

Again the word of the LORD of hosts came [to me], saying,

2 L'Éternel des armées dit: « Je suis jaloux de Sion avec une grande jalousie, et je suis jaloux d'elle avec une grande colère. »

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.

3 Yahvé dit: « Je suis revenu à Sion, et j'habiterai au milieu de Jérusalem. Jérusalem sera appelée « Cité de la vérité », et la montagne de Yahvé des armées « Montagne sainte ». »

Thus saith the LORD; I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.

4 Yahvé des Armées dit: « Les vieillards et les vieilles femmes habiteront de nouveau dans les rues de Jérusalem, chacun avec son bâton à la main à cause de leur vieillesse.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

5 Les rues de la ville seront pleines de garçons et de filles qui joueront dans ses rues. »

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.

6 Yahvé des armées dit: « Si c'est merveilleux aux yeux du reste de ce peuple en ces jours-là, cela doit-il aussi être merveilleux à mes yeux? » dit Yahvé des armées.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.

7 Yahvé des armées dit: « Voici, je vais sauver mon peuple du pays de l'est et du pays de l'ouest.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

8 Je les ferai venir, et ils habiteront dans Jérusalem. Ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu, dans la vérité et la justice. »

And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

9 L'Éternel des armées dit: « Fortifiez vos mains, vous qui écoutez en ces jours-ci ces paroles de la bouche des prophètes qui étaient au jour où fut posé le fondement de la maison de l'Éternel des armées, le temple, afin qu'il fût construit.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, who [were] in the day [when] the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

10 Car avant ces jours-là, il n'y avait pas de salaire pour l'homme ni de salaire pour l'animal, et il n'y avait pas de paix pour celui qui sortait ou entrait, à cause de l'adversaire. Car j'opposais tous les hommes, chacun à son prochain.

For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither [was there any] peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbor.

11 Mais maintenant, je ne serai pas pour le reste de ce peuple comme aux premiers jours, dit l'Éternel des armées.

But now I [will] not [be] to the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.

12 « Car la semence de la paix et la vigne donneront leur fruit, la terre donnera son accroissement, et les cieux donneront leur rosée. Je ferai en sorte que le reste de ce peuple hérite de toutes ces choses.

For the seed [shall be] prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these [things].

13 De même que vous étiez une malédiction parmi les nations, maison de Juda et maison d'Israël, de même je vous sauverai, et vous serez une bénédiction. N'ayez pas peur. Que vos mains soient fortes. »

And it shall come to pass, [that] as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, let your hands be strong.

14 Car l'Éternel des armées dit: « De même que j'ai pensé vous faire du mal lorsque vos pères m'ont provoqué à la colère, dit l'Éternel des armées, et que je ne me suis pas repenti,

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not;

15 de même j'ai pensé en ces jours-ci faire du bien à Jérusalem et à la maison de Juda. N'ayez pas peur.

So again have I thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.

16 Voici ce que vous ferez: dites chacun la vérité à votre prochain. Exécutez dans vos portes le jugement de la vérité et de la paix,

These [are] the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

17 et qu'aucun de vous ne médite dans son cœur le mal contre son prochain, et n'aimez pas le faux serment; car ce sont là des choses que je hais, dit Yahvé.

And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these [are things] that I hate, saith the LORD.

18 La parole de l'Éternel des armées me fut adressée.

And the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying,

19 L'Éternel des armées dit: « Les jeûnes du quatrième, du cinquième, du septième et du dixième mois seront pour la maison de Juda une joie, une allégresse et des fêtes joyeuses. C'est pourquoi aimez la vérité et la paix. »

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth [month], and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

20 Yahvé des armées dit: « De nombreux peuples et les habitants de nombreuses villes viendront encore.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts: [It shall] yet [come to pass], that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:

21 Les habitants de l'une iront vers l'autre en disant: 'Allons vite implorer la faveur de l'Éternel et chercher l'Éternel des armées. J'irai aussi.

And the inhabitants of one [city] shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.

22 Oui, de nombreux peuples et de fortes nations viendront chercher l'Éternel des armées à Jérusalem et implorer la faveur de l'Éternel. »

And many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.

23 Yahvé des armées dit: « En ces jours-là, dix hommes de toutes les langues des nations saisiront la jupe de celui qui est juif, en disant: 'Nous irons avec toi, car nous avons appris que Dieu est avec toi'. »

Thus saith the LORD of hosts: In those days [it shall come to pass], that ten men out of all languages of the nations, shall take hold, shall even take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard [that] God [is] with you.
