Zacharie 7
1 La quatrième année du roi Darius, la parole de Yahvé fut adressée à Zacharie, le quatrième jour du neuvième mois, le mois de Chislev.
And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, [that] the word of the LORD came to Zechariah in the fourth [day] of the ninth month, [even] in Chisleu;
2 Le peuple de Béthel envoya Sharezer, Regem Melech et leurs hommes pour implorer la faveur de Yahvé,
When they had sent to the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
3 et pour parler aux prêtres de la maison de Yahvé des armées et aux prophètes, en disant: « Devrais-je pleurer au cinquième mois, en me séparant, comme je l'ai fait pendant tant d'années? »
[And] to speak to the priests who [were] in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
4 Alors la parole de Yahvé des armées me fut adressée en ces termes:
Then came the word of the LORD of hosts to me, saying,
5 Parle à tout le peuple du pays et aux prêtres, et dis: « Lorsque vous avez jeûné et pleuré au cinquième et au septième mois pendant ces soixante-dix ans, n'avez-vous pas jeûné pour moi, vraiment pour moi?
Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh [month], even those seventy years, did ye at all fast to me, [even] to me?
6 Quand vous mangez et quand vous buvez, ne mangez-vous pas pour vous-mêmes et ne buvez-vous pas pour vous-mêmes?
And when ye ate, and when ye drank, did ye not eat [for yourselves], and drink [for yourselves]?
7 Ne sont-ce pas là les paroles que Yahvé a annoncées par les anciens prophètes, lorsque Jérusalem était habitée et prospère, ainsi que les villes qui l'entouraient, et que le Sud et la plaine étaient habités? ».
[Should ye] not [hear] the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and her cities around her, when [men] inhabited the south and the plain?
8 La parole de Yahvé fut adressée à Zacharie, en ces termes:
And the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying,
9 Yahvé des armées a parlé ainsi: « Pratiquez un jugement équitable, et ayez de la bonté et de la compassion pour votre frère.
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10 N'opprimez pas la veuve, ni l'orphelin, ni l'étranger, ni le pauvre; et qu'aucun de vous ne médite dans son cœur le mal contre son frère.
And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11 Mais ils refusèrent d'écouter, ils tournèrent le dos et bouchèrent leurs oreilles pour ne pas entendre.
But they refused to hearken, and withdrew the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
12 Oui, ils ont rendu leur cœur dur comme du silex, de peur d'entendre la loi et les paroles que Yahvé des armées avait envoyées par son Esprit par les anciens prophètes. C'est pourquoi une grande colère est venue de l'Éternel des armées.
Yes, they made their hearts [as] an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
13 De même qu'il a appelé et qu'ils ont refusé d'écouter, de même ils appelleront et je n'écouterai pas, dit Yahvé des armées,
Therefore it is come to pass, [that] as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
14 mais je les disperserai dans un tourbillon parmi toutes les nations qu'ils n'ont pas connues. C'est ainsi que le pays a été dévasté après eux, de sorte que personne n'y passait ni n'y retournait, car ils ont rendu désolant le pays agréable. »
But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
