Apocalypse 7
1 Après cela, je vis quatre anges debout aux quatre coins de la terre, tenant les quatre vents de la terre, de sorte qu'aucun vent ne soufflait sur la terre, ni sur la mer, ni sur aucun arbre.
After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, and holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow over the earth or the sea or upon any tree.
2 Je vis un autre ange monter du haut du soleil levant, ayant le sceau du Dieu vivant. Il cria d'une voix forte aux quatre anges à qui il avait été donné de faire du mal à la terre et à la mer,
And I saw another angel coming from the east and carrying a seal belonging to the ever-living God. He called in a loud voice to the four angels whose work it was to injure the earth and the sea.
3 en disant: « Ne faites pas de mal à la terre, ni à la mer, ni aux arbres, jusqu'à ce que nous ayons marqué du sceau les esclaves de notre Dieu sur leur front. »
"Injure neither land nor sea nor trees," he said, "until we have sealed the bondservants of our God upon their foreheads."
4 J'entendis le nombre de ceux qui avaient été scellés: cent quarante-quatre mille, de toutes les tribus des enfants d'Israël:
When the sealing was finished, I heard how many were sealed out of the tribes of the descendants of Israel. They were 144,000.
5 de la tribu de Juda, douze mille furent scellés, de la tribu de Ruben, douze mille, de la tribu de Gad, douze mille,
Of the tribe of Judah, 12,000 were sealed; Of the tribe of Reuben, 12,000; Of the tribe of Gad, 12,000;
6 de la tribu d'Asher, douze mille, de la tribu de Nephtali, douze mille, de la tribu de Manassé, douze mille,
Of the tribe of Asher, 12,000; Of the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000; Of the tribe of Manasseh, 12,000;
7 de la tribu de Siméon, douze mille, de la tribu de Lévi, douze mille, de la tribu d'Issachar, douze mille,
Of the tribe of Symeon, 12,000; Of the tribe of Levi, 12,000; Of the tribe of Issachar, 12,000;
8 de la tribu de Zabulon, douze mille, de la tribu de Joseph, douze mille, et de la tribu de Benjamin, douze mille furent scellés.
Of the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000; Of the tribe of Joseph, 12,000; Of the tribe of Benjamin, 12,000.
9 Après cela, je regardai, et voici, une grande foule, que personne ne pouvait compter, de toute nation, de toute tribu, de tout peuple, et de toute langue, se tenait devant le trône et devant l'agneau, vêtue de robes blanches, des palmes à la main.
After this I looked, and a vast host appeared which it was impossible for anyone to count, gathered out of every nation and from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in long white robes, and carrying palm-branches in their hands.
10 Ils criaient d'une voix forte, en disant: « Le salut est à notre Dieu, qui est assis sur le trône, et à l'Agneau! »
In loud voices they were exclaiming, "It is to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, that we owe our salvation!"
11 Tous les anges se tenaient autour du trône, les anciens et les quatre êtres vivants; ils tombèrent sur leur face devant son trône et adorèrent Dieu,
All the angels were standing in a circle round the throne and round the Elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces in front of the throne and worshipped God.
12 en disant: « Amen! Bénédiction, gloire, sagesse, action de grâces, honneur, puissance et force, soient à notre Dieu aux siècles des siècles! Amen. » (aiōn g165)
"Even so!" they cried: "The blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanks and the honor and the power and the might are to be ascribed to our God, until the Ages of the Ages! Even so!" (aiōn g165)
13 Un des anciens prit la parole et me dit: « Ceux qui sont vêtus de robes blanches, qui sont-ils, et d'où viennent-ils? »
Then, addressing me, one of the Elders said, "Who are these people clothed in the long white robes? And where have they come from?"
14 Je lui ai dit: « Monseigneur, vous le savez. » Il m'a dit: « Ce sont ceux qui sont sortis de la grande souffrance. Ils ont lavé leurs robes et les ont blanchies dans le sang de l'Agneau.
"My lord, you know," I replied. "They are those," he said, "who have just passed through the great distress, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 C'est pourquoi ils sont devant le trône de Dieu, et ils le servent jour et nuit dans son temple. Celui qui est assis sur le trône étend sur eux sa tente.
For this reason they stand before the very throne of God, and render Him service, day after day and night after night, in His sanctuary, and He who is sitting upon the throne will shelter them in His tent.
16 Ils n'auront plus jamais faim ni soif. Le soleil ne les frappera pas, ni aucune chaleur;
They will never again be hungry or thirsty, and never again will the sun or any scorching heat trouble them.
17 car l'Agneau qui est au milieu du trône les fait paître et les conduit vers des sources d'eaux vivifiantes. Et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux. »
For the Lamb who is in front of the throne will be their Shepherd, and will guide them to watersprings of Life, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes."
