Psaumes 99

1 Yahvé règne! Que les peuples tremblent. Il est assis sur un trône parmi les chérubins. Que la terre s'émeuve.

A Psalm of David. The Lord reigns; —let the people rage; [it is he] that sits upon the cherubs, let the earth be moved.

2 Yahvé est grand en Sion. Il est élevé au-dessus de tous les peuples.

The Lord is great in Sion, and is high over all the people.

3 Qu'ils louent ton nom grand et redoutable. Il est saint!

Let them give thanks to thy great name; for it is terrible and holy.

4 La force du roi aime aussi la justice. Vous établissez l'équité. Tu exécutes la justice et la droiture en Jacob.

And the king's honour loves judgment; thou hast prepared equity, thou hast wrought judgment and justice in Jacob.

5 Exaltez Yahvé notre Dieu. Se prosterner devant son marchepied. Il est saint!

Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship [at] his footstool; for he is holy.

6 Moïse et Aaron étaient parmi ses prêtres, Samuel était parmi ceux qui invoquent son nom. Ils invoquèrent Yahvé, et il leur répondit.

Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he heard them.

7 Il leur parla dans la colonne de nuée. Ils ont gardé ses témoignages, le statut qu'il leur a donné.

He spoke to them in a pillar of cloud; they kept his testimonies, and the ordinances which he gave them.

8 Tu leur as répondu: Yahvé, notre Dieu. Tu es un Dieu qui leur a pardonné, bien que vous vous soyez vengé de leurs actes.

O Lord our God, thou heardest them; O God, thou becamest propitious to them, though thou didst take vengeance on all their devices.

9 Exaltez Yahvé, notre Dieu. Vénérer sur sa colline sacrée, car Yahvé, notre Dieu, est saint!

Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy.
