Psaumes 9
1 Pour le chef musicien. Réglé sur « La mort du fils ». Un psaume de David. Je rendrai grâce à Yahvé de tout mon cœur. Je raconterai toutes tes merveilles.
Yahweh, I will praise you with all of my inner being. I will tell [others] about all the wonderful things that you have done.
2 Je me réjouirai et me réjouirai en toi. Je chanterai la louange de ton nom, ô Très-Haut.
I will sing to celebrate what you [MTY], who are much greater than all other gods, [have done].
3 Quand mes ennemis reculent, ils trébuchent et périssent en ta présence.
When my enemies realize [that you are very powerful], they stumble, and then they are killed.
4 Car tu as défendu ma juste cause. Vous êtes assis sur le trône, jugeant avec droiture.
You sat on your throne to judge people, and you have judged fairly/justly concerning me.
5 Tu as réprimandé les nations. Vous avez détruit les méchants. Tu as effacé leur nom pour toujours et à jamais.
You rebuked the [people of other] nations and you have gotten rid of the wicked people; you have erased their names forever.
6 L'ennemi est accablé par une ruine sans fin. Le souvenir même des villes que vous avez renversées a péri.
Our enemies have disappeared; you destroyed their cities, and people do not even remember them any more.
7 Mais Yahvé règne pour toujours. Il a préparé son trône pour le jugement.
But Yahweh rules forever. He judges [people while he sits] on his throne to judge people,
8 Il jugera le monde en toute justice. Il administrera le jugement des peuples dans la droiture.
and he will judge [all the people in] [SYN] the world justly; he will judge the people [of all nations] fairly [DOU].
9 Yahvé sera aussi une haute tour pour les opprimés; une tour élevée dans les moments difficiles.
Yahweh will be a refuge for those who are oppressed; [yes, he will be like] a shelter for them when they have trouble.
10 Ceux qui connaissent ton nom te font confiance, car toi, Yahvé, tu n'as pas abandonné ceux qui te cherchent.
Those who know Yahweh [MTY] trust in him; he never abandons those who come to him ([for help/to worship him]).
11 Chantez les louanges de Yahvé, qui habite en Sion, et déclarer parmi le peuple ce qu'il a fait.
Yahweh rules from Zion [Hill]; praise him while you sing to him. Tell [the people of all] the nations the [marvelous] things that he has done.
12 Car celui qui venge le sang se souvient d'eux. Il n'oublie pas le cri des affligés.
He does not forget [to punish] those who have murdered others; and he will not ignore people who are crying because they are suffering.
13 Aie pitié de moi, Yahvé. Voyez mon affliction par ceux qui me haïssent, et me soulève des portes de la mort,
Yahweh, be merciful to me! Look at the ways that my enemies have injured me. Do not allow me to die [because of these injuries].
14 afin que je puisse montrer toutes tes louanges. Je me réjouirai de ton salut aux portes de la fille de Sion.
I want to live in order that I can praise you at the gates of Jerusalem [MTY] and to rejoice because you rescued me.
15 Les nations se sont enfoncées dans la fosse qu'elles ont creusée. Dans le filet qu'ils ont caché, leur propre pied est pris.
[It is as though] the [wicked people of many] nations have dug a pit for me to fall into [MET], but they have fallen into that same pit. [It is as if] they spread out a net to catch me [MET], but their feet have been caught in that same net.
16 Yahvé s'est fait connaître. Il a exécuté le jugement. Le méchant est pris au piège par l'œuvre de ses propres mains. Méditation. (Selah)
Because of what you have done, people know that you decide matters [fairly/justly], but [you allow] wicked people to be trapped by the same evil things that they themselves do.
17 Les méchants seront renvoyés au séjour des morts, même toutes les nations qui oublient Dieu. (Sheol h7585)
Wicked people will all [die and] be buried in their graves, and [their spirits] will go to be with all those who have (forgotten about/rejected) you. (Sheol h7585)
18 Car les nécessiteux ne seront pas toujours oubliés, ni l'espoir des pauvres ne périssent à jamais.
But you will not forget those who are needy/poor; what they confidently expect will certainly happen.
19 Lève-toi, Yahvé! Ne laisse pas l'homme l'emporter. Que les nations soient jugées devant toi.
Yahweh, arise and judge the [wicked] people of the nations; do not allow them to think that [because they are strong] they will never be punished.
20 Fais-leur peur, Yahvé. Que les nations sachent qu'elles ne sont que des hommes. (Selah)
Yahweh, teach them to be terrified about you. Cause them to know that they are merely human beings.
