Psaumes 82

1 Un psaume d'Asaph. Dieu préside la grande assemblée. Il juge parmi les dieux.

God stands in the congregation of God. He judges among the gods.

2 « Jusqu'à quand jugerez-vous injustement, et faire preuve de partialité envers les méchants? (Selah)

How long will ye judge unjustly, and respect the persons of the wicked? (Selah)

3 « Défendez le faible, le pauvre et l'orphelin. Maintenir les droits des pauvres et des opprimés.

Judge the poor man and the orphan. Do justice to the afflicted and destitute man.

4 Secourir les faibles et les nécessiteux. Délivre-les de la main des méchants. »

Rescue the poor and needy man. Deliver from the hand of the wicked man.

5 Ils ne savent pas, ils ne comprennent pas non plus. Ils vont et viennent dans l'obscurité. Toutes les fondations de la terre sont ébranlées.

They know not, nor do they understand. They walk to and fro in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 J'ai dit: « Vous êtes des dieux, vous êtes tous des fils du Très-Haut.

I said, Ye are gods, and all of you sons of the Most High.

7 Néanmoins, vous mourrez comme des hommes, et tomber comme un des chefs. »

Nevertheless ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers.

8 Lève-toi, Dieu, juge la terre, car vous héritez de toutes les nations.

Arise, O God, judge the earth, for thou shall inherit all the nations.
