Psaumes 75

1 Pour le chef musicien. Sur l'air de « Do Not Destroy ». Un psaume d'Asaph. Une chanson. Nous te rendons grâce, Dieu. Nous rendons grâce, car ton Nom est proche. Les hommes racontent tes merveilles.

To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' A Psalm of Asaph: a Song. Unto thee we give thanks, O God, we give thanks; and thy name is near: thy marvellous works declare it.

2 Quand je choisis l'heure prévue, Je jugerai de manière irréprochable.

When I shall receive the assembly, I will judge with equity.

3 La terre et tous ses habitants tremblent. Je tiens fermement ses piliers. (Selah)

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have established its pillars. (Selah)

4 J'ai dit aux arrogants: « Ne te vante pas! » J'ai dit aux méchants: « N'élevez pas la corne.

I said unto the boastful, Boast not; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

5 N'élevez pas votre cor en haut. Ne parlez pas avec un cou raide. »

Lift not up your horn on high; speak not arrogantly with a [stiff] neck.

6 Car ni de l'est, ni de l'ouest, ni encore du sud, vient l'exaltation.

For not from the east nor from the west, nor yet from the south doth exaltation [come]:

7 Mais Dieu est le juge. Il renverse l'un et relève l'autre.

For God is the judge; he putteth down one and exalteth another.

8 Car il y a une coupe dans la main de Yahvé, pleine de vin mousseux mélangé à des épices. Il le déverse. En effet, les méchants de la terre boivent et le boivent jusqu'à la lie.

For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, [and] drink.

9 Mais je le déclarerai à jamais: Je chanterai les louanges du Dieu de Jacob.

But as for me, I will declare for ever; I will sing psalms to the God of Jacob.

10 Je couperai toutes les cornes des méchants, mais les cornes des justes s'élèveront.

And all the horns of the wicked will I cut off; [but] the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
