Psaumes 60
1 Pour le chef musicien. Sur l'air de « The Lily of the Covenant ». Un poème didactique de David, lorsqu'il combattit avec Aram Naharaim et Aram Zobah, et que Joab revint, et tua douze mille Edom dans la vallée du sel. Dieu, tu nous as rejetés. Vous nous avez brisés. Vous avez été en colère. Restaure-nous, encore une fois.
For the Chief Musician; set to Shushan Eduth: Michtam of David, to teach: when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down; thou hast been angry; O restore us again.
2 Tu as fait trembler la terre. Vous l'avez déchiré. Réparer ses fractures, car il tremble.
Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 Tu as montré à ton peuple des choses difficiles. Tu nous as fait boire le vin qui nous fait tituber.
Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.
4 Tu as donné une bannière à ceux qui te craignent, pour qu'il soit exposé à cause de la vérité. (Selah)
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Selah)
5 Pour que ton bien-aimé soit délivré, sauve de ta main droite, et réponds-nous.
That thy beloved may be delivered, save with thy right hand, and answer us.
6 Dieu a parlé depuis son sanctuaire: « Je triompherai. Je vais diviser Sichem, et mesure la vallée de Succoth.
God hath spoken in his holiness; I will exult: I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Galaad est à moi, et Manassé est à moi. Ephraïm aussi est la défense de ma tête. Juda est mon sceptre.
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of mine head; Judah is my sceptre.
8 Moab est mon bassin de lavage. Je jetterai ma sandale sur Edom. Je crie en triomphe sur la Philistie. »
Moab is my washpot; upon Edom will I cast my shoe: Philistia, shout thou because of me.
9 Qui me fera entrer dans la ville forte? Qui m'a conduit à Edom?
Who will bring me into the strong city? who hath led me unto Edom?
10 Ne nous as-tu pas rejetés, Dieu? Tu ne sors pas avec nos armées, Dieu.
Hast not thou, O God, cast us off? and thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.
11 Donne-nous du secours contre l'adversaire, car l'aide de l'homme est vaine.
Give us help against the adversary: for vain is the help of man.
12 Par Dieu, nous ferons preuve de courage, car c'est lui qui écrasera nos adversaires.
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our adversaries.
