Psaumes 48
1 Une chanson. Un psaume par les fils de Korah. Yahvé est grand et digne de louange, dans la ville de notre Dieu, dans sa montagne sainte.
A Psalm of praise for the sons of Core on the second [day] of the week. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
2 Belle en élévation, la joie de toute la terre, est le Mont Zion, sur les côtés nord, la ville du grand Roi.
The city of the great King is well planted [on] the mountains of Sion, with the joy of the whole earth, [on] the sides of the north.
3 Dieu s'est montré dans ses citadelles comme un refuge.
God is known in her palaces, when he undertakes to help her.
4 Car voici, les rois se sont rassemblés, ils sont passés ensemble.
For, behold the kings of the earth were assembled, they came together.
5 Ils l'ont vu, puis ils ont été stupéfaits. Ils étaient consternés. Ils se sont empressés de partir.
They saw, and so they wondered: they were troubled, they were moved.
6 Le tremblement les a saisis là, la douleur, comme celle d'une femme en travail.
Trembling took hold on them: there were the pangs as of a woman in travail.
7 Avec le vent d'est, tu brises les navires de Tarsis.
Thou wilt break the ships of Tharsis with a vehement wind.
8 Ce que nous avons entendu, nous l'avons vu, dans la ville de Yahvé des armées, dans la ville de notre Dieu. Dieu l'établira pour toujours. (Selah)
As we have heard, so have we also seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God has founded it for ever. (Pause)
9 Nous avons pensé à ta bonté, Dieu, au milieu de votre temple.
We have thought of thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy people.
10 Tel est ton nom, Dieu, ainsi est ta louange jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre. Ta main droite est pleine de justice.
According to thy name, O God, so is also thy praise to the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Que la montagne de Sion se réjouisse! Que les filles de Juda se réjouissent à cause de tes jugements.
Let mount Sion rejoice, let the daughters of Judaea exult, because of thy judgments, O Lord.
12 Marchez autour de Sion, faites-en le tour. Numéroter ses tours.
Go round about Sion, and encompass her: tell ye her towers.
13 Remarquez ses remparts. Considérez ses palais, pour que vous puissiez le raconter à la prochaine génération.
Mark ye well her strength, and observe her palaces; that ye may tell the next generation.
14 Car ce Dieu est notre Dieu pour les siècles des siècles. Il sera notre guide jusqu'à la mort.
For this is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide for evermore.
