Psaumes 35
1 Par David. Conteste, Yahvé, avec ceux qui me contestent. Combattez ceux qui me combattent.
A Psalm of David. Strive, O LORD, with them that strive with me; fight against them that fight against me.
2 Saisissez le bouclier et la cuirasse, et demander mon aide.
Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise up to my help.
3 Brandissez la lance et bloquez ceux qui me poursuivent. Dis à mon âme: « Je suis ton salut. »
Draw out also the spear, and the battle-axe, against them that pursue me; say unto my soul: 'I am Thy salvation.'
4 Que ceux qui cherchent mon âme soient déçus et déshonorés. Que ceux qui complotent ma ruine soient détournés et confondus.
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion that seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be abashed that devise my hurt.
5 Qu'ils soient comme l'ivraie devant le vent, L'ange de Yahvé qui les conduit.
Let them be as chaff before the wind, the angel of the LORD thrusting them.
6 Que leur chemin soit sombre et glissant, L'ange de Yahvé qui les poursuit.
Let their way be dark and slippery, the angel of the LORD pursuing them.
7 Car, sans raison, ils ont caché leur filet dans une fosse pour moi. Sans raison, ils ont creusé une fosse pour mon âme.
For without cause have they hid for me the pit, even their net, without cause have they digged for my soul.
8 Que la destruction l'atteigne à l'improviste. Que le filet qu'il a caché s'attrape lui-même. Laissez-le tomber dans cette destruction.
Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself; with destruction let him fall therein.
9 Mon âme se réjouira en Yahvé. Elle se réjouira de son salut.
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; it shall rejoice in His salvation.
10 Tous mes os diront: « Yahvé, qui est comme toi? qui délivre le pauvre de celui qui est trop fort pour lui; oui, le pauvre et le nécessiteux de celui qui le vole? »
All my bones shall say: 'LORD, who is like unto Thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?'
11 Des témoins injustes se lèvent. Ils me posent des questions sur des choses que je ne connais pas.
Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I know not.
12 Ils me rendent le mal pour le bien, à la perte de mon âme.
They repay me evil for good; bereavement is come to my soul.
13 Mais moi, quand ils étaient malades, mon vêtement était un sac. J'ai affligé mon âme par le jeûne. Ma prière est retournée dans mon propre sein.
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth, I afflicted my soul with fasting; and my prayer, may it return into mine own bosom.
14 Je me suis comporté comme si c'était mon ami ou mon frère. Je me suis incliné en pleurant, comme celui qui pleure sa mère.
I went about as though it had been my friend or my brother; I bowed down mournful, as one that mourneth for his mother.
15 Mais dans mon malheur, ils se sont réjouis et se sont rassemblés. Les attaquants se sont rassemblés contre moi, et je ne le savais pas. Ils m'ont déchiré, et n'ont pas cessé.
But when I halt they rejoice, and gather themselves together; the abjects gather themselves together against me, and those whom I know not; they tear me, and cease not;
16 Comme les profanes qui se moquent des fêtes, ils ont grincé des dents contre moi.
With the profanest mockeries of backbiting they gnash at me with their teeth.
17 Seigneur, jusqu'à quand regarderas-tu? Sauvez mon âme de leur destruction, ma précieuse vie des lions.
Lord, how long wilt Thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, mine only one from the lions.
18 Je vous rendrai grâce dans la grande assemblée. Je te louerai auprès de beaucoup de gens.
I will give Thee thanks in the great congregation; I will praise Thee among a numerous people.
19 Ne laisse pas ceux qui sont mes ennemis se réjouir injustement à mon sujet; et que ceux qui me haïssent sans raison ne clignent pas des yeux.
Let not them that are wrongfully mine enemies rejoice over me; neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
20 Car ils ne parlent pas de paix, mais ils conçoivent des paroles trompeuses contre ceux qui sont tranquilles dans le pays.
For they speak not peace; but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
21 Oui, ils ont ouvert grand leur bouche contre moi. Ils ont dit: « Aha! Aha! Notre œil l'a vu! »
Yea, they open their mouth wide against me; they say: 'Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.'
22 Tu l'as vu, Yahvé. Ne te tais pas. Seigneur, ne t'éloigne pas de moi.
Thou hast seen, O LORD; keep not silence; O Lord, be not far from me.
23 Réveillez-vous! Lève-toi pour me défendre, mon Dieu! Mon Seigneur, plaidez pour moi!
Rouse Thee, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
24 Rends-moi justice, Yahvé mon Dieu, selon ta justice. Ne les laisse pas se réjouir pour moi.
Judge me, O LORD my God, according to Thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
25 Ne les laissez pas dire dans leur cœur: « Aha! C'est comme ça que nous voulons! ». Ne les laissez pas dire: « Nous l'avons englouti! »
Let them not say in their heart: 'Aha, we have our desire'; let them not say: 'We have swallowed him up.'
26 Qu'ils soient déçus et confondus tous ensemble ceux qui se réjouissent de mon malheur. Qu'ils soient revêtus de honte et de déshonneur ceux qui s'élèvent contre moi.
Let them be ashamed and abashed together that rejoice at my hurt; let them be clothed with shame and confusion that magnify themselves against me.
27 Que ceux qui sont favorables à ma juste cause poussent des cris de joie et se réjouissent. Oui, qu'ils disent continuellement: « Que Yahvé soit magnifié, qui prend plaisir à la prospérité de son serviteur! »
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that delight in my righteousness; yea, let them say continually: 'Magnified be the LORD, who delighteth in the peace of His servant.'
28 Ma langue parlera de ta justice et de ta louange tout le jour.
And my tongue shall speak of Thy righteousness, and of Thy praise all the day.
