Psaumes 148
1 Louez Yah! Louez Yahvé du haut des cieux! Louez-le dans les hauteurs!
Praise Yahweh! Praise him, from up in heaven; praise him from way up in the sky!
2 Louez-le, tous ses anges! Louez-le, toute son armée!
All you angels who belong to him, praise him! All you who are in the armies of heaven, praise him!
3 Louez-le, soleil et lune! Louez-le, vous toutes, étoiles brillantes!
Sun and moon, [you also] praise him! You shining stars, you praise him!
4 Louez-le, cieux des cieux, vous les eaux qui sont au-dessus des cieux.
You highest heavens, praise him! And you waters that are high above the sky, praise him!
5 Qu'ils louent le nom de Yahvé, car il a ordonné, et ils ont été créés.
I want [all of] these to praise Yahweh [MTY] because by commanding [them to exist], he created them.
6 Il les a aussi établis pour toujours et à jamais. Il a pris un décret qui ne passera pas.
He determined the places where they should be [in the sky], and he commanded that they should be there forever. They cannot disobey that command!
7 Louez Yahvé de toute la terre, vous les grandes créatures marines, et toutes les profondeurs,
And everything on the earth, praise Yahweh! You [huge] sea monsters and [everything else that is] deep [in the ocean],
8 éclairs et grêle, neige et nuages, un vent de tempête, accomplissant sa parole,
and fire and hail, and snow and frost, and strong winds that obey what he commands, [I tell] all of you to praise Yahweh!
9 montagnes et toutes les collines, des arbres fruitiers et tous les cèdres,
Hills and mountains, fruit trees and cedar [trees],
10 animaux sauvages et tout le bétail, les petites créatures et les oiseaux volants,
all the wild animals and all [you] cattle, and the (reptiles/creatures that scurry across the ground), and [all] the birds, [I tell all of them to praise Yahweh]!
11 les rois de la terre et tous les peuples, les princes et tous les juges de la terre,
You kings on this earth and all the people [that you rule], you princes and all [other] rulers,
12 tant les jeunes hommes que les jeunes filles, des vieillards et des enfants.
you young men and young women, you old people and children, [everyone, praise Yahweh!]
13 Qu'ils louent le nom de Yahvé, car son nom seul est exalté. Sa gloire est au-dessus de la terre et des cieux.
I want them [all] to praise Yahweh [MTY] because he is greater than anyone else. His glory is greater than [anything on] the earth or [in] heaven.
14 Il a élevé la corne de son peuple, la louange de tous ses saints, même des enfants d'Israël, un peuple qui lui est proche. Louez Yah!
He caused us, his people, to be strong in order that we, his people, we Israeli people (who are very precious to him/whom he loves very much), would praise him. So praise Yahweh!
