Psaumes 143
1 Un psaume de David. Écoute ma prière, Yahvé. Écoutez mes requêtes. Dans ta fidélité et ta justice, soulage-moi.
A Psalm of David, when his son pursued him. O Lord, attend to my prayer: hearken to my supplication in thy truth; hear me in thy righteousness.
2 N'entre pas en jugement avec ton serviteur, car à tes yeux, aucun homme vivant n'est juste.
And enter not into judgment with thy servant, for in thy sight shall no [man] living be justified.
3 Car l'ennemi poursuit mon âme. Il a réduit ma vie à néant. Il m'a fait vivre dans des endroits sombres, comme ceux qui sont morts depuis longtemps.
For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has brought my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in a dark [place], as those that have been long dead.
4 C'est pourquoi mon esprit est bouleversé au-dedans de moi. Mon cœur en moi est désolé.
Therefore my spirit was grieved in me; my heart was troubled within me.
5 Je me souviens des jours d'autrefois. Je médite sur tous vos faits et gestes. Je contemple le travail de vos mains.
I remembered the days of old; and I meditated on all thy doings: [yea], I meditated on the works of thine hands.
6 J'ai étendu mes mains vers vous. Mon âme a soif de toi, comme une terre desséchée. (Selah)
I spread forth my hands to thee; my soul [thirsts] for thee, as a dry land. (Pause)
7 Dépêche-toi de me répondre, Yahvé. Mon esprit s'effondre. Ne me cachez pas votre visage, afin que je ne devienne pas comme ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit has failed; turn not away thy face from me, else I shall be like to them that go down to the pit.
8 Fais-moi entendre ta bonté dès le matin, car j'ai confiance en toi. Fais-moi connaître le chemin dans lequel je dois marcher, car j'élève mon âme vers toi.
Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for I have hoped in thee; make known to me, O Lord, the way wherein I should walk; for I have lifted up my soul to thee.
9 Délivre-moi, Yahvé, de mes ennemis. Je me réfugie auprès de vous pour me cacher.
Deliver me from mine enemies, O Lord; for I have fled to thee for refuge.
10 Apprends-moi à faire ta volonté, car tu es mon Dieu. Votre esprit est bon. Conduis-moi dans le pays de la droiture.
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; thy good Spirit shall guide me in the straight [way].
11 Ranime-moi, Yahvé, à cause de ton nom. Dans ta justice, fais sortir mon âme de la détresse.
Thou shalt quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake; in thy righteousness thou shalt bring my soul out of affliction.
12 Dans ta bonté, retranche mes ennemis, et détruis tous ceux qui affligent mon âme, car je suis votre serviteur.
And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy mine enemies, and wilt destroy all those that afflict my soul; for I am thy servant.
