Psaumes 118
1 Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car sa bonté est éternelle.
Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his covenant faithfulness endures forever.
2 Qu'Israël dise maintenant que sa bonté est éternelle.
Let Israel say, “His covenant faithfulness endures forever.”
3 Que la maison d'Aaron dise maintenant que sa bonté est éternelle.
Let the house of Aaron say, “His covenant faithfulness endures forever.”
4 Maintenant, que ceux qui craignent Yahvé disent que sa bonté est éternelle.
Let the loyal followers of Yahweh say, “His covenant faithfulness endures for ever.”
5 Dans ma détresse, j'ai invoqué l'Éternel. Yah m'a répondu avec liberté.
In my distress I called out to Yahweh; Yahweh answered me and set me free.
6 Yahvé est de mon côté. Je n'aurai pas peur. Que peut me faire l'homme?
Yahweh is with me; I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?
7 Yahvé est de mon côté parmi ceux qui m'aident. C'est pourquoi je regarderai avec triomphe ceux qui me haïssent.
Yahweh is on my side as my helper; I will look in triumph on those who hate me.
8 Il vaut mieux se réfugier en Yahvé, que de faire confiance à l'homme.
It is better to take shelter in Yahweh than to put confidence in man.
9 Il vaut mieux se réfugier en Yahvé, que de faire confiance aux princes.
It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to put one's trust in a princes.
10 Toutes les nations m'ont entouré, mais au nom de Yahvé, je les ai éliminés.
All the nations surrounded me; in Yahweh's name I cut them off.
11 Ils m'ont entouré, oui, ils m'ont entouré. Au nom de Yahvé, je les ai en effet éliminés.
They surrounded me; yes, they surrounded me; in Yahweh's name I cut them off.
12 Ils m'ont entouré comme des abeilles. Ils sont éteints comme les épines brûlantes. Au nom de Yahvé, je les ai éliminés.
They surrounded me like bees; they disappeared as quickly as fire among thorns; in Yahweh's name I cut them off.
13 Tu m'as poussé fort en arrière, pour me faire tomber, mais Yahvé m'a aidé.
They attacked me to knock me down, but Yahweh helped me.
14 L'Éternel est ma force et mon chant. Il est devenu mon salut.
Yahweh is my strength and joy, and he is the one who rescues me.
15 La voix de l'allégresse et du salut est dans les tentes des justes. « La main droite de Yahvé agit avec courage.
The joyful shout of victory is heard in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of Yahweh conquers.
16 La droite de Yahvé est exaltée! La main droite de Yahvé est vaillante! »
The right hand of Yahweh is exalted; the right hand of Yahweh conquers.
17 Je ne veux pas mourir, mais vivre, et déclarer les œuvres de Yah.
I will not die, but live and declare the deeds of Yahweh.
18 L'Éternel m'a sévèrement puni, mais il ne m'a pas livré à la mort.
Yahweh has punished me harshly; but he has not handed me over to death.
19 Ouvrez-moi les portes de la justice. Je vais entrer en eux. Je vais rendre grâce à Yah.
Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter them and I will give thanks to Yahweh.
20 Voici la porte de l'Éternel; les justes y entreront.
This is the gate of Yahweh; the righteous enter through it.
21 Je te rendrai grâce, car tu m'as exaucé, et sont devenus mon salut.
I will give thanks to you, for you answered me, and you have become my salvation.
22 La pierre que les bâtisseurs ont rejetée est devenu la pierre angulaire.
The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
23 C'est l'œuvre de Yahvé. C'est merveilleux à nos yeux.
This is Yahweh's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 Voici le jour que Yahvé a établi. Nous nous en réjouirons et en serons heureux!
This is the day on which Yahweh has acted; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Sauve-nous maintenant, nous t'en supplions, Yahvé! Yahvé, nous t'en supplions, envoie la prospérité maintenant.
Please, Yahweh, give us victory! Please, Yahweh, give us success!
26 Béni soit celui qui vient au nom de Yahvé! Nous vous avons béni de la maison de Yahvé.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh; we bless you from the house of Yahweh.
27 Yahvé est Dieu, et il nous a donné la lumière. Liez le sacrifice avec des cordes, jusqu'aux cornes de l'autel.
Yahweh is God, and he has given us light; bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
28 Tu es mon Dieu, et je te rendrai grâce. Tu es mon Dieu, je t'exalte.
You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will exalt you.
29 Oh! Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car sa bonté est éternelle.
Oh, give thanks to Yahweh; for he is good; for his covenant faithfulness endures forever.
