Psaumes 116
1 J'aime Yahvé, car il écoute ma voix, et mes appels à la pitié.
It is lovely to me that the Lord heareth my voice, my supplications.
2 Parce qu'il m'a fait la sourde oreille, c'est pourquoi je l'invoquerai aussi longtemps que je vivrai.
For he hath inclined his ear unto me: therefore throughout all my days will I call on him.
3 Les cordons de la mort m'ont entouré, les douleurs de Sheol ont eu une emprise sur moi. J'ai trouvé des problèmes et du chagrin. (Sheol h7585)
The bands of death had compassed me, and the pangs of the nether world had overtaken me; I had met with distress and sorrow: (Sheol h7585)
4 Et j'ai invoqué le nom de Yahvé: « Yahvé, je t'en supplie, délivre mon âme. »
I then called on the name of the Lord, I beseech thee, O Lord, release my soul.
5 Yahvé est miséricordieux et juste. Oui, notre Dieu est miséricordieux.
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; and our God is merciful.
6 Yahvé préserve les simples. J'étais abattu, et il m'a sauvé.
The Lord preserveth the simple: I was in misery, and he helped me.
7 Retourne à ton repos, mon âme, car Yahvé a fait preuve de générosité à votre égard.
Return, O my soul, unto thy rest; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Car tu as délivré mon âme de la mort, mes yeux de larmes, et mes pieds de tomber.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
9 Je marcherai devant Yahvé, dans le pays des vivants.
I will walk before the Lord in the land of life.
10 J'ai cru, donc j'ai dit, « J'ai été grandement affligé. »
I believe, therefore will I speak: I was greatly afflicted;
11 J'ai dit dans ma hâte, « Tous les gens sont des menteurs. »
I indeed said in my despondency, Every man is a liar.
12 Que vais-je donner à Yahvé pour tous ses bienfaits à mon égard?
What shall I give in return unto the Lord for all his bounties toward me?
13 Je prendrai la coupe du salut, et j'invoquerai le nom de l'Éternel.
The cup of salvation will I lift up, and on the name of the Lord will I call.
14 J'accomplirai mes vœux à l'Éternel, oui, en présence de tout son peuple.
My vows will I pay unto the Lord, yea, in the presence of all his people.
15 La mort de ses saints est précieuse aux yeux de Yahvé.
Grievous in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his pious ones.
16 Yahvé, en vérité, je suis ton serviteur. Je suis ton serviteur, le fils de ta servante. Vous m'avez libéré de mes chaînes.
O Lord, truly am I thy servant, I am thy servant, —the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosened my fetters.
17 Je t'offrirai le sacrifice d'action de grâce, et invoqueront le nom de Yahvé.
Unto thee will I offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and on the name of the Lord will I call.
18 J'accomplirai mes vœux à l'Éternel, oui, en présence de tout son peuple,
My vows will I pay unto the Lord, yea, in the presence of all his people,
19 dans les cours de la maison de l'Éternel, au milieu de toi, Jérusalem. Louez Yah!
In the courts of the house of the Lord, in thy midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
