Proverbes 6
1 Mon fils, si tu es devenu la garantie de ton prochain, si vous avez frappé vos mains en gage pour un étranger,
Mi sone, if thou hast bihiyt for thi freend; thou hast fastned thin hoond at a straunger.
2 vous êtes piégés par les mots de votre bouche; tu es pris au piège par les paroles de ta bouche.
Thou art boundun bi the wordis of thi mouth; and thou art takun with thin owne wordis.
3 Fais-le maintenant, mon fils, et délivre-toi, puisque tu es tombé dans la main de ton voisin. Allez, humiliez-vous. Appuyez votre plaidoyer auprès de votre voisin.
Therfor, my sone, do thou that that Y seie, and delyuere thi silf; for thou hast fallun in to the hond of thi neiybore. Renne thou aboute, haste thou, reise thi freend;
4 Ne laisse pas tes yeux s'endormir, ni le sommeil à vos paupières.
yyue thou not sleep to thin iyen, nether thin iyeliddis nappe.
5 Libère-toi, comme une gazelle de la main du chasseur, comme un oiseau échappant au piège de l'oiseleur.
Be thou rauyschid as a doo fro the hond; and as a bridde fro aspiyngis of the foulere.
6 Va vers la fourmi, paresseux. Considérez ses manières, et soyez sage;
O! thou slowe man, go to the `amte, ether pissemyre; and biholde thou hise weies, and lerne thou wisdom.
7 qui n'ont ni chef, ni surveillant, ni dirigeant,
Which whanne he hath no duyk, nethir comaundour, nether prince;
8 lui fournit du pain en été, et recueille sa nourriture dans la moisson.
makith redi in somer mete to hym silf, and gaderith togidere in heruest that, that he schal ete.
9 Combien de temps vas-tu dormir, paresseux? Quand sortiras-tu de ton sommeil?
Hou long schalt thou, slow man, slepe? whanne schalt thou rise fro thi sleep?
10 Un peu de sommeil, un peu d'assoupissement, un petit pliage des mains pour dormir...
A litil thou schalt slepe, a litil thou schalt nappe; a litil thou schalt ioyne togidere thin hondis, that thou slepe.
11 ainsi votre pauvreté viendra comme un voleur, et votre rareté en tant qu'homme armé.
And nedynesse, as a weigoere, schal come to thee; and pouert, as an armed man. Forsothe if thou art not slow, thi ripe corn schal come as a welle; and nedynesse schal fle fer fro thee.
12 Un homme sans valeur, un homme d'iniquité, est celui qui marche avec une bouche perverse,
A man apostata, a man vnprofitable, he goith with a weiward mouth;
13 qui cligne des yeux, qui fait des signes avec ses pieds, qui fait des gestes avec ses doigts,
he bekeneth with iyen, he trampith with the foot, he spekith with the fyngur,
14 dans le cœur duquel il y a de la perversité, qui invente continuellement le mal, qui sème toujours la discorde.
bi schrewid herte he ymagyneth yuel, and in al tyme he sowith dissenciouns.
15 C'est pourquoi sa calamité viendra soudainement. Il sera brisé soudainement, et ce sans remède.
His perdicioun schal come to hym anoon, and he schal be brokun sodeynli; and he schal no more haue medecyn.
16 Il y a six choses que Yahvé déteste; oui, sept qui sont une abomination pour lui:
Sixe thingis ben, whyche the Lord hatith; and hise soule cursith the seuenthe thing.
17 des yeux arrogants, une langue mensongère, des mains qui ont versé du sang innocent,
Hiye iyen, a tunge liere, hondis schedinge out innocent blood,
18 un cœur qui conçoit de mauvais plans, des pieds qui sont prompts à courir au mal,
an herte ymagynynge worste thouytis, feet swifte to renne in to yuel,
19 un faux témoin qui profère des mensonges, et celui qui sème la discorde entre les frères.
a man bringynge forth lesingis, a fals witnesse; and him that sowith discordis among britheren.
20 Mon fils, garde le commandement de ton père, et n'abandonnez pas l'enseignement de votre mère.
Mi sone, kepe the comaundementis of thi fadir; and forsake not the lawe of thi modir.
21 Lie-les continuellement sur ton cœur. Attachez-les autour de votre cou.
Bynde thou tho continueli in thin herte; and cumpasse `to thi throte.
22 Quand tu marcheras, il te conduira. Quand vous dormirez, il veillera sur vous. Quand vous vous réveillerez, il parlera avec vous.
Whanne thou goist, go tho with thee; whanne thou slepist, kepe tho thee; and thou wakynge speke with tho.
23 Car le commandement est une lampe, et la loi est légère. Les reproches d'instruction sont le chemin de la vie,
For the comaundement of God is a lanterne, and the lawe is liyt, and the blamyng of techyng is the weie of lijf;
24 pour vous préserver de la femme immorale, de la flatterie de la langue de l'épouse volage.
`that the comaundementis kepe thee fro an yuel womman, and fro a flaterynge tunge of a straunge womman.
25 Ne convoite pas sa beauté dans ton cœur, ni la laisser vous captiver avec ses paupières.
Thin herte coueite not the fairnesse of hir; nether be thou takun bi the signes of hir.
26 Car une prostituée vous réduit à un morceau de pain. La femme adultère chasse votre précieuse vie.
For the prijs of an hoore is vnnethe of o loof; but a womman takith the preciouse soule of a man.
27 Un homme peut-il ramasser du feu sur ses genoux, et que ses vêtements ne soient pas brûlés?
Whether a man mai hide fier in his bosum, that hise clothis brenne not;
28 Ou peut-on marcher sur des charbons ardents, et ses pieds ne seront pas brûlés?
ethir go on colis, and hise feet be not brent?
29 Il en est de même pour celui qui va vers la femme de son prochain. Quiconque la touche ne restera pas impuni.
So he that entrith to the wijf of his neiybore; schal not be cleene, whanne he hath touchid hir.
30 Les hommes ne méprisent pas un voleur. s'il vole pour se satisfaire quand il a faim,
It is not greet synne, whanne a man stelith; for he stelith to fille an hungri soule.
31 mais s'il est retrouvé, il restituera sept fois. Il donnera toutes les richesses de sa maison.
And he takun schal yelde the seuenthe fold; and he schal yyue al the catel of his hous, and schal delyuere hym silf.
32 Celui qui commet un adultère avec une femme est dépourvu d'intelligence. Celui qui le fait détruit sa propre âme.
But he that is avouter; schal leese his soule, for the pouert of herte.
33 Il recevra des blessures et le déshonneur. Son opprobre ne sera pas effacé.
He gaderith filthe, and sclaundrith to hym silf; and his schenschip schal not be don awei.
34 Car la jalousie excite la fureur du mari. Il n'épargnera pas au jour de la vengeance.
For the feruent loue and strong veniaunce of the man schal not spare in the dai of veniaunce,
35 Il ne tiendra compte d'aucune rançon, il ne sera pas non plus satisfait, même si vous lui faites de nombreux cadeaux.
