Proverbes 3
1 Mon fils, n'oublie pas mon enseignement, mais que ton cœur garde mes commandements,
Mi sone, foryete thou not my lawe; and thyn herte kepe my comaundementis.
2 car ils vous ajouteront la durée des jours, années de vie, et de paix.
For tho schulen sette to thee the lengthe of daies, and the yeeris of lijf, and pees.
3 Ne laissez pas la bonté et la vérité vous abandonner. Attachez-les autour de votre cou. Écris-les sur la tablette de ton cœur.
Merci and treuthe forsake thee not; bynde thou tho to thi throte, and write in the tablis of thin herte.
4 Ainsi, vous trouverez la faveur, et une bonne compréhension aux yeux de Dieu et des hommes.
And thou schalt fynde grace, and good teching bifore God and men.
5 Fais confiance à Yahvé de tout ton cœur, et ne vous appuyez pas sur votre propre compréhension.
Haue thou trist in the Lord, of al thin herte; and triste thou not to thi prudence.
6 Dans toutes tes voies, reconnais-le, et il rendra vos chemins droits.
In alle thi weies thenke thou on hym, and he schal dresse thi goyngis.
7 Ne sois pas sage à tes propres yeux. Craignez Yahvé, et éloignez-vous du mal.
Be thou not wijs anentis thi silf; drede thou God, and go awei fro yuel.
8 Il sera sain pour votre corps, et de la nourriture pour vos os.
For whi helthe schal be in thi nawle, and moisting of thi boonys.
9 Honorez Yahvé par vos biens, avec les prémices de toute votre production;
Onoure thou the Lord of thi catel, and of the beste of alle thi fruytis yyue thou to pore men;
10 ainsi vos granges seront remplies d'abondance, et vos cuves déborderont de vin nouveau.
and thi bernes schulen be fillid with abundaunce, and pressours schulen flowe with wiyn.
11 Mon fils, ne méprise pas la discipline de Yahvé, et ne vous lassez pas de sa correction;
My sone, caste thou not awei the teching of the Lord; and faile thou not, whanne thou art chastisid of him.
12 car celui que Yahvé aime, il le corrige, comme un père reprend le fils dont il se réjouit.
For the Lord chastisith hym, whom he loueth; and as a fadir in the sone he plesith hym.
13 Heureux l'homme qui trouve la sagesse, l'homme qui comprend.
Blessid is the man that fyndith wisdom, and which flowith with prudence.
14 Pour elle, un bon profit vaut mieux que de l'argent, et son retour est meilleur que l'or fin.
The geting therof is betere than the marchaundie of gold and of siluer; the fruytis therof ben the firste and clenneste.
15 Elle est plus précieuse que les rubis. Aucune des choses que vous pouvez désirer ne doit être comparée à elle.
It is preciousere than alle richessis; and alle thingis that ben desirid, moun not be comparisound to this.
16 La longueur des jours est dans sa main droite. Dans sa main gauche se trouvent les richesses et l'honneur.
Lengthe of daies is in the riythalf therof, and richessis and glorie ben in the lifthalf therof.
17 Ses voies sont des voies agréables. Tous ses chemins sont la paix.
The weies therof ben feire weies, and alle the pathis therof ben pesible.
18 Elle est un arbre de vie pour ceux qui la saisissent. Heureux tous ceux qui la retiennent.
It is a tre of lijf to hem that taken it; and he that holdith it, is blessid.
19 C'est par la sagesse que Yahvé a fondé la terre. Par l'intelligence, il a établi les cieux.
The Lord foundide the erthe bi wisdom; he stablischide heuenes bi prudence.
20 Par sa connaissance, les profondeurs ont été brisées, et les cieux laissent tomber la rosée.
The depthis of watris braken out bi his wisdom; and cloudis wexen togidere bi dewe.
21 Mon fils, qu'ils ne s'éloignent pas de tes yeux. Gardez la sagesse et la discrétion,
My sone, these thingis flete not awey fro thin iyen; kepe thou my lawe, and my counsel;
22 ainsi ils seront la vie de ton âme, et la grâce pour votre cou.
and lijf schal be to thi soule, and grace `schal be to thi chekis.
23 Alors tu marcheras dans ta voie en toute sécurité. Votre pied ne trébuchera pas.
Thanne thou schalt go tristili in thi weie; and thi foot schal not snapere.
24 Quand tu te coucheras, tu n'auras pas peur. Oui, tu te coucheras, et ton sommeil sera doux.
If thou schalt slepe, thou schalt not drede; thou schalt reste, and thi sleep schal be soft.
25 Ne craignez pas la peur soudaine, ni de la désolation des méchants, quand elle viendra;
Drede thou not bi sudeyne feer, and the powers of wickid men fallynge in on thee.
26 car Yahvé sera ton assurance, et empêchera votre pied d'être pris.
For the Lord schal be at thi side; and he schal kepe thi foot, that thou be not takun.
27 Ne refusez pas le bien à ceux à qui il est dû, quand il est dans le pouvoir de votre main de le faire.
Nil thou forbede to do wel him that mai; if thou maist, and do thou wel.
28 Ne dis pas à ton prochain: « Va, et reviens; demain je te le donnerai, » quand vous l'avez près de vous.
Seie thou not to thi frend, Go, and turne thou ayen, and to morewe Y schal yyue to thee; whanne thou maist yyue anoon.
29 Ne médite pas le mal contre ton prochain, puisqu'il habite en sécurité près de vous.
Ymagyne thou not yuel to thi freend, whanne he hath trist in thee.
30 Ne vous disputez pas avec un homme sans raison, s'il ne vous a fait aucun mal.
Stryue thou not ayens a man with out cause, whanne he doith noon yuel to thee.
31 N'enviez pas l'homme de violence. Ne choisissez aucune de ses voies.
Sue thou not an vniust man, sue thou not hise weies.
32 Car le pervers est une abomination pour Yahvé, mais son amitié est avec les honnêtes gens.
For ech disseyuer is abhomynacioun of the Lord; and his speking is with simple men.
33 La malédiction de Yahvé est dans la maison des méchants, mais il bénit la demeure des justes.
Nedinesse is sent of the Lord in the hous of a wickid man; but the dwelling places of iust men schulen be blessid.
34 Certes, il se moque des moqueurs, mais il donne la grâce aux humbles.
He schal scorne scorneris; and he schal yyue grace to mylde men.
35 Les sages hériteront de la gloire, mais la honte sera la promotion des imbéciles.
Wise men schulen haue glorie; enhaunsing of foolis is schenschipe.
