1 Voici l'histoire des générations d'Aaron et de Moïse, au jour où Yahvé parla à Moïse sur la montagne de Sinaï.
And these [are] births of Aaron and Moses, in the day of Jehovah's speaking with Moses in mount Sinai.
2 Voici les noms des fils d'Aaron: Nadab, premier-né, Abihu, Éléazar et Ithamar.
And these [are] the names of the sons of Aaron: the first-born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar;
3 Voici les noms des fils d'Aaron, les prêtres oints, qu'il consacra pour exercer le sacerdoce.
these [are] the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, whose hand he hath consecrated for acting as priest.
4 Nadab et Abihu moururent devant Yahvé lorsqu'ils offrirent du feu étranger devant Yahvé dans le désert du Sinaï, et ils n'eurent pas d'enfants. Eléazar et Ithamar firent le service du sacerdoce en présence d'Aaron, leur père.
And Nadab dieth — Abihu also — before Jehovah, in their bringing near strange fire before Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai, and sons they had not; and Eleazar — Ithamar also — acteth as priest in the presence of Aaron their father.
5 Yahvé parla à Moïse, et dit:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
6 Fais approcher la tribu de Lévi, et place-la devant le prêtre Aaron, pour qu'elle soit à son service.
'Bring near the tribe of Levi, and thou hast caused it to stand before Aaron the priest, and they have served him,
7 Ils veilleront sur ses besoins et sur ceux de toute l'assemblée devant la tente d'assignation, pour faire le service du tabernacle.
and kept his charge, and the charge of all the company before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle;
8 Ils garderont tout le mobilier de la Tente d'assignation et les obligations des enfants d'Israël, pour assurer le service de la Tente d'assignation.
and they have kept all the vessels of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle;
9 Tu donneras les Lévites à Aaron et à ses fils. Ils lui seront entièrement remis au nom des enfants d'Israël.
and thou hast given the Levites to Aaron and to his sons; they are surely given to him out of the sons of Israel.
10 Tu désigneras Aaron et ses fils, et ils conserveront leur sacerdoce, mais l'étranger qui s'approchera sera mis à mort. »
'And Aaron and his sons thou dost appoint, and they have kept their priesthood, and the stranger who cometh near is put to death.'
11 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
12 « Voici, j'ai pris les Lévites du milieu des enfants d'Israël à la place de tous les premiers-nés qui ouvrent le ventre des enfants d'Israël; et les Lévites seront à moi,
'And I, lo, I have taken the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel instead of every first-born opening a womb among the sons of Israel, and the Levites have been Mine;
13 car tous les premiers-nés sont à moi. Le jour où j'ai frappé tous les premiers-nés du pays d'Égypte, j'ai consacré à moi tous les premiers-nés d'Israël, hommes et animaux. Ils seront à moi. Je suis Yahvé. »
for Mine [is] every first-born, in the day of My smiting every first-born in the land of Egypt I have sanctified to Myself every first-born in Israel, from man unto beast; Mine they are; I [am] Jehovah.'
14 Yahvé parla à Moïse dans le désert de Sinaï, et dit:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,
15 « Compte les enfants de Lévi selon les maisons de leurs pères, selon leurs familles. Tu compteras tous les mâles depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus. »
'Number the sons of Levi by the house of their fathers, by their families; every male from a son of a month and upward thou dost number them.'
16 Moïse les compta selon la parole de Yahvé, comme il en avait reçu l'ordre.
And Moses numbereth them according to the command of Jehovah, as he hath been commanded.
17 Voici les fils de Lévi, selon leurs noms: Guershon, Kehath et Merari.
And these are sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.
18 Voici les noms des fils de Gershon, selon leurs familles: Libni et Shimei.
And these [are] the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.
19 Fils de Kehath, selon leurs familles: Amram, Izhar, Hebron et Uzziel.
And the sons of Kohath, by their families, [are] Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
20 Les fils de Merari, selon leurs familles: Mahli et Mushi. Voici les familles des Lévites, selon les maisons de leurs pères.
And the sons of Merari by their families [are] Mahli and Mushi; these are the families of the Levites, by the house of their fathers.
21 De Guershon, la famille des Libnites et la famille des Shiméites. Ce sont là les familles des Gershonites.
Of Gershon [is] the family of the Libnite, and the family of the Shimite; these are the families of the Gershonite.
22 Ceux dont on fit le compte, selon le nombre de tous les mâles depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus, ceux dont on fit le compte furent sept mille cinq cents.
Their numbered ones, in number, every male from a son of a month and upward, their numbered ones [are] seven thousand and five hundred.
23 Les familles des Guershonites camperont derrière le tabernacle, à l'ouest.
The families of the Gershonite, behind the tabernacle, do encamp westward.
24 Eliasaph, fils de Lael, sera le chef de la maison des pères des Guershonites.
And the prince of a father's house for the Gershonite [is] Eliasaph son of Lael.
25 Les fonctions des fils de Gershon dans la Tente d'assignation seront le tabernacle, le chapiteau, sa couverture, le rideau de l'entrée de la Tente d'assignation,
And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting [is] the tabernacle, and the tent, its covering, and the vail at the opening of the tent of meeting,
26 les tentures du parvis, le rideau de l'entrée du parvis qui est près du tabernacle et autour de l'autel, et ses cordons pour tout son service.
and the hangings of the court, and the vail at the opening of the court, which [is] by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and its cords, to all its service.
27 De Kehath, la famille des Amramites, la famille des Jitseharites, la famille des Hébronites et la famille des Uzzielites. Telles sont les familles des Kehathites.
And of Kohath [is] the family of the Amramite, and the family of the Izharite, and the family of the Hebronite, and the family of the Uzzielite; these are families of the Kohathite.
28 D'après le nombre de tous les mâles, depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus, il y en avait huit mille six cents qui observaient les prescriptions du sanctuaire.
In number, all the males, from a son of a month and upward, [are] eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.
29 Les familles des fils de Kehath camperont au sud du tabernacle.
The families of the sons of Kohath encamp by the side of the tabernacle southward.
30 Le chef de la maison des pères des familles des Kehathites sera Elizaphan, fils d'Uzziel.
And the prince of a father's house for the families of the Kohathite [is] Elizaphan son of Uzziel.
31 Il sera chargé de l'arche, de la table, du chandelier, des autels, des ustensiles du sanctuaire avec lesquels on fait le service, du rideau et de tout son service.
And their charge [is] the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary with which they serve, and the vail, and all its service.
32 Éléazar, fils du prêtre Aaron, sera le chef des chefs des lévites, avec la surveillance de ceux qui veillent aux besoins du sanctuaire.
And [to] the prince of the princes of the Levites, Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, [is] the oversight of the keepers of the charge of the sanctuary.
33 De Merari était la famille des Mahlites et la famille des Mushites. Ce sont là les familles de Merari.
Of Merari [is] the family of the Mahlite, and the family of the Mushite; these [are] the families of Merari.
34 Ceux dont on fit le dénombrement, selon le nombre de tous les mâles depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus, furent six mille deux cents.
And their numbered ones, in number, all the males from a son of a month and upward, [are] six thousand and two hundred.
35 Le prince de la maison des pères des familles de Merari était Tsuriel, fils d'Abihail. Ils camperont sur le côté nord de la tente.
And the prince of a father's house for the families of Merari [is] Zuriel son of Abihail; by the side of the tabernacle they encamp northward.
36 Les fils de Merari seront chargés des planches du tabernacle, de ses barres, de ses piliers, de ses socles, de tous ses instruments, de tout son service,
And the oversight — the charge of the sons of Merari — [is] the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and all its vessels, and all its service,
37 des piliers du parvis qui l'entourent, de leurs socles, de leurs broches et de leurs cordons.
and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
38 Ceux qui campent devant le tabernacle, à l'est, devant la tente d'assignation, vers le lever du soleil, seront Moïse, avec Aaron et ses fils, gardant les exigences du sanctuaire pour le devoir des enfants d'Israël. L'étranger qui s'approchera sera mis à mort.
And those encamping before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting, at the east, [are] Moses and Aaron, and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the sons of Israel, and the stranger who cometh near is put to death.
39 Tous les Lévites dont Moïse et Aaron firent le compte sur l'ordre de l'Éternel, selon leurs familles, tous les mâles depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus, furent vingt-deux mille.
All those numbered of the Levites whom Moses numbered — Aaron also — by the command of Jehovah, by their families, every male from a son of a month and upward, [are] two and twenty thousand.
40 L'Éternel dit à Moïse: « Fais le compte de tous les premiers-nés mâles des enfants d'Israël, depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus, et note le nombre de leurs noms.
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Number every first-born male of the sons of Israel from a son of a month and upward, and take up the number of their names;
41 Tu prendras les Lévites pour moi - je suis Yahvé - à la place de tous les premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël, et le bétail des Lévites à la place de tous les premiers-nés du bétail des enfants d'Israël. »
and thou hast taken the Levites for Me (I [am] Jehovah), instead of every first-born among the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of every firstling among the cattle of the sons of Israel.'
42 Moïse compta, comme l'avait ordonné l'Éternel, tous les premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël.
And Moses numbereth, as Jehovah hath commanded him, all the first-born among the sons of Israel.
43 Tous les premiers-nés mâles, selon le nombre des noms, depuis l'âge d'un mois et au-dessus, de ceux qui furent comptés, furent vingt-deux mille deux cent soixante-treize.
And all the first-born — male — by the number of names, from a son of a month and upward, of their numbered ones, are two and twenty thousand two hundred and seventy and three.
44 Yahvé parla à Moïse, et dit:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
45 « Prends les Lévites à la place de tous les premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël, et le bétail des Lévites à la place de leur bétail; et les Lévites seront à moi. Je suis Yahvé.
'Take the Levites instead of every first-born among the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites have been Mine; I [am] Jehovah.
46 Pour le rachat des deux cent soixante-treize premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël qui dépassent le nombre des Lévites,
'And [from] those ransomed of the two hundred and seventy and three (who are more than the Levites) of the first-born of the sons of Israel,
47 tu prendras cinq sicles pour chacun d'eux; tu les prendras selon le sicle du sanctuaire (le sicle est de vingt gérachs);
thou hast even taken five shekels a-piece by the poll — by the shekel of the sanctuary thou takest; twenty gerahs the shekel [is];
48 et tu donneras l'argent, avec lequel leur reste est racheté, à Aaron et à ses fils. »
and thou hast given the money to Aaron, and to his sons, whereby those over and above are ransomed.'
49 Moïse prit l'argent du rachat de ceux qui dépassaient le nombre des rachetés par les Lévites;
And Moses taketh the ransom money from those over and above those ransomed by the Levites;
50 il prit l'argent des premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël, mille trois cent soixante-cinq sicles, selon le sicle du sanctuaire;
from the first-born of the sons of Israel he hath taken the money, a thousand and three hundred and sixty and five — by the shekel of the sanctuary;
51 et Moïse donna l'argent du rachat à Aaron et à ses fils, selon la parole de Yahvé, comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
and Moses giveth the money of those ransomed to Aaron, and to his sons, according to the command of Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.
