Michée 5

1 Maintenant, vous allez vous rassembler en troupes, la fille des troupes. Il a fait le siège contre nous. Ils frapperont le juge d'Israël avec une baguette sur la joue.

Nowe assemble thy garisons, O daughter of garisons: he hath layed siege against vs: they shall smite the iudge of Israel with a rod vpon the cheeke.

2 Mais toi, Bethléem Ephrata, étant petit parmi les clans de Juda, de vous sortira quelqu'un qui sera le chef d'Israël; dont les sorties viennent d'autrefois, des temps anciens.

And thou Beth-leem Ephrathah art litle to bee among the thousandes of Iudah, yet out of thee shall he come forth vnto me, that shalbe the ruler in Israel: whose goings forth haue bene from the beginning and from euerlasting.

3 Il les abandonnera donc jusqu'au moment où la femme en travail accouchera. Puis le reste de ses frères reviendra aux enfants d'Israël.

Therefore will he giue them vp, vntill the time that shee which shall beare, shall trauaile: then the remnant of their brethren shall returne vnto the children of Israel.

4 Il se tiendra debout, et il paîtra dans la force de l'Éternel, dans la majesté du nom de Yahvé son Dieu. Ils vivront, car alors il sera grand jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre.

And he shall stand, and feed in the strength of the Lord, and in the maiestie of the Name of the Lord his God, and they shall dwel still: for now shall he be magnified vnto the ends of the world.

5 Il sera notre paix lorsque l'Assyrie envahira notre pays. et quand il marche à travers nos forteresses, alors nous dresserons contre lui sept bergers, et huit chefs d'hommes.

And hee shall be our peace when Asshur shall come into our lande: when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seuen shepheardes, and eight principall men.

6 Ils domineront le pays d'Assyrie par l'épée, et le pays de Nimrod dans ses portes. Il nous délivrera de l'Assyrien, quand il envahira notre pays, et quand il défile à l'intérieur de notre frontière.

And they shall destroy Asshur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with their swordes: thus shall he deliuer vs from Asshur, when hee commeth into our lande, and when he shall tread within our borders.

7 Le reste de Jacob sera parmi de nombreux peuples. comme la rosée de Yahvé, comme des averses sur l'herbe, qui n'attendent pas l'homme ni attendre les fils des hommes.

And the remnant of Iaakob shalbe among many people, as a dewe from the Lord, and as the showres vpon the grasse, that waiteth not for man, nor hopeth in the sonnes of Adam.

8 Le reste de Jacob sera parmi les nations, parmi de nombreux peuples, comme un lion parmi les animaux de la forêt, comme un jeune lion parmi les troupeaux de moutons; qui, s'il passe, piétine et met en pièces, et il n'y a personne pour le faire.

And the remnant of Iaakob shalbe among the Gentiles in the middes of many people, as the lyon among the beastes of the forest, and as the lyons whelpe among the flockes of sheepe, who when he goeth thorow, treadeth downe and teareth in pieces, and none can deliuer.

9 Que ta main s'élève au-dessus de tes adversaires, et que tous vos ennemis soient exterminés.

Thine hand shall bee lift vp vpon thine aduersaries, and all thine enemies shalbe cut off.

10 « Cela arrivera en ce jour-là », dit Yahvé, « que je retrancherai vos chevaux du milieu de vous et détruira tes chars.

And it shall come to passe in that day, sayth the Lord, that I will cut off thine horses out of the middes of thee, and I will destroy thy charets.

11 J'exterminerai les villes de ton pays et détruira toutes vos forteresses.

And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and ouerthrowe all thy strong holdes.

12 Je détruirai la sorcellerie de ta main. Tu n'auras pas de devins.

And I will cut off thine enchanters out of thine hande: and thou shalt haue no more southsayers.

13 J'éliminerai du milieu de vous vos images gravées et vos statues; et vous n'adorerez plus l'ouvrage de vos mains.

Thine idoles also will I cut off, and thine images out of the middes of thee: and thou shalt no more worship the woorke of thine hands.

14 Je déracinerai vos mâts d'Ashérah du milieu de vous; et je détruirai vos villes.

And I wil plucke vp thy groues out of the middes of thee: so will I destroy thine enemies.

15 J'exécuterai la vengeance dans la colère et la colère sur les nations qui n'ont pas écouté. »

And I will execute a vegeance in my wrath and indignation vpon the heathen, which they haue not heard.
