Matthieu 27
1 Dès que le matin fut venu, tous les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens du peuple tinrent conseil contre Jésus pour le faire mourir.
And morning having come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, so as to put Him to death;
2 Ils le lièrent, l'emmenèrent, et le livrèrent à Ponce Pilate, le gouverneur.
and having bound Him, they led [Him] away, and delivered Him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
3 Alors Judas, qui le livrait, voyant que Jésus était condamné, eut des remords, et rapporta les trente pièces d'argent aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux anciens,
Then Judas—he who delivered Him up—having seen that He was condemned, having regretted, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and to the elders, saying,
4 en disant: « J'ai péché en livrant un sang innocent. » Mais ils ont dit: « Qu'est-ce que ça peut nous faire? Occupez-vous en. »
“I sinned, having delivered up innocent blood”; and they said, “What [is that] to us? You will see!”
5 Il jeta les pièces d'argent dans le sanctuaire et s'en alla. Puis il s'en alla et se pendit.
And having cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed, and having gone away, he strangled himself.
6 Les principaux sacrificateurs prirent les pièces d'argent et dirent: « Il n'est pas permis de les mettre dans le trésor, puisque c'est le prix du sang. »
And the chief priests having taken the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, seeing it is the price of blood”;
7 Ils tinrent conseil, et ils achetèrent avec elles le champ du potier pour y enterrer les étrangers.
and having taken counsel, they bought the potter’s field with them, for the burial of strangers;
8 C'est pourquoi ce champ a été appelé jusqu'à ce jour « le champ du sang ».
therefore that field was called, “Field of Blood,” to this day.
9 Alors s'accomplit ce qui avait été annoncé par Jérémie, le prophète, en ces termes, « Ils ont pris les trente pièces d'argent, le prix de celui qui avait été mis à prix, que certains des enfants d'Israël ont prisé,
Then was fulfilled that spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And I took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him who has been priced, whom they of the sons of Israel priced,
10 et ils les donnèrent pour le champ du potier, comme le Seigneur me l'a ordonné. »
and gave them for the potter’s field, as the LORD appointed to me.”
11 Or, Jésus se tenait devant le gouverneur; et le gouverneur l'interrogeait, disant: « Es-tu le roi des Juifs? » Jésus lui dit: « C'est ce que tu dis. »
And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And Jesus said to him, “You say [it].”
12 Lorsqu'il fut accusé par les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens, il ne répondit rien.
And in His being accused by the chief priests and the elders, He did not answer anything;
13 Alors Pilate lui dit: « N'entends-tu pas combien de choses ils témoignent contre toi? »
then Pilate says to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they witness against You?”
14 Il ne lui répondit pas, pas même un mot, de sorte que le gouverneur fut très étonné.
And He did not answer him, not even to one word, so that the governor wondered greatly.
15 Or, à l'occasion de la fête, le gouverneur avait coutume de relâcher à la foule un prisonnier qu'elle désirait.
And at the celebration the governor had been accustomed to release one to the multitude, a prisoner, whom they willed,
16 Ils avaient alors un prisonnier notable, nommé Barabbas.
and they had a noted prisoner then, called Barabbas,
17 Lorsqu'ils furent rassemblés, Pilate leur dit: « Qui voulez-vous que je vous relâche? Barabbas, ou Jésus qu'on appelle le Christ? »
therefore they having been gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you will [that] I may release to you? Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?”
18 Car il savait que c'était par jalousie qu'ils l'avaient livré.
For he had known that they had delivered Him up because of envy.
19 Comme il était assis sur le siège du jugement, sa femme lui envoya dire: « Ne te mêle pas de ce juste, car j'ai beaucoup souffert aujourd'hui en rêve à cause de lui. »
And as he is sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Nothing—to you and to that Righteous One, for I suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
20 Or, les chefs des prêtres et les anciens persuadaient la foule de demander Barabbas et de faire périr Jésus.
And the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes that they might ask for themselves Barabbas, and might destroy Jesus;
21 Mais le gouverneur leur répondit: « Lequel des deux voulez-vous que je vous relâche? » Ils ont dit: « Barabbas! »
and the governor answering said to them, “Which of the two will you [that] I may release to you?” And they said, “Barabbas.”
22 Pilate leur dit: « Que dois-je donc faire à Jésus, qui est appelé Christ? » Ils lui ont tous dit: « Qu'il soit crucifié! »
Pilate says to them, “What then will I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all say to him, “Let [Him] be crucified!”
23 Mais le gouverneur dit: « Pourquoi? Quel mal a-t-il fait? » Mais ils poussaient de grands cris, disant: « Qu'on le crucifie! »
And the governor said, “Why, what evil did He do?” And they were crying out the more, saying, “Let [Him] be crucified!”
24 Alors, voyant que l'on ne gagnait rien, mais qu'au contraire on commençait à faire du grabuge, Pilate prit de l'eau et se lava les mains devant la foule, en disant: « Je suis innocent du sang de ce juste. Tu y veilles. »
And Pilate having seen that it profits nothing, but rather a tumult is made, having taken water, he washed the hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent from the blood of this Righteous One; you will see [to it] yourselves”;
25 Tout le peuple répondit: « Que son sang retombe sur nous et sur nos enfants! »
and all the people answering said, “His blood [is] on us, and on our children!”
26 Puis il leur relâcha Barabbas, mais il flagella Jésus et le livra pour être crucifié.
Then he released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus, he delivered [Him] up that He may be crucified;
27 Alors les soldats du gouverneur emmenèrent Jésus dans le prétoire, et rassemblèrent contre lui toute la garnison.
then the soldiers of the governor having taken Jesus to the Praetorium, gathered to Him all the band;
28 Ils le dépouillèrent et le revêtirent d'une robe écarlate.
and having unclothed Him, they put a crimson cloak around Him,
29 Ils tressèrent une couronne d'épines et la mirent sur sa tête, et un roseau dans sa main droite. Ils se mirent à genoux devant lui et se moquèrent de lui en disant: « Salut, roi des Juifs! »
and having plaited Him a garland out of thorns they put [it] on His head, and [put] a reed in His right hand, and having kneeled before Him, they were mocking Him, saying, “Hail, the King of the Jews!”
30 Ils crachèrent sur lui, prirent le roseau et le frappèrent sur la tête.
And having spit on Him, they took the reed, and were striking on His head;
31 Après s'être moqués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent le manteau, le revêtirent de ses vêtements, et l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier.
and when they had mocked Him, they took off the cloak from Him, and put His own garments on Him, and led Him away to crucify [Him].
32 En sortant, ils trouvèrent un homme de Cyrène, nommé Simon, et ils l'obligèrent à marcher avec eux, afin qu'il porte sa croix.
And coming forth, they found a man, a Cyrenian, by name Simon: they impressed him that he might carry His cross;
33 Lorsqu'ils arrivèrent à un lieu appelé Golgotha, c'est-à-dire le lieu du crâne,
and having come to a place called Golgotha, which is called “Place of [the] Skull,”
34 ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin aigre mêlé de fiel. Lorsqu'il l'eut goûté, il ne voulut pas boire.
they gave Him vinegar mixed with gall to drink, and having tasted, He would not drink.
35 Après l'avoir crucifié, ils se partagèrent ses vêtements en tirant au sort,
And having crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting a lot, [[that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: “They divided My garments to themselves, and they cast a lot over My clothing”; ]]
36 et ils s'assirent là pour le regarder.
and sitting down, they were watching Him there,
37 Ils mirent au-dessus de sa tête l'accusation portée contre lui, écrite: « C'est JÉSUS, le roi des Juifs. »
and they put up over His head, His accusation written: “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
38 Et il y avait deux brigands crucifiés avec lui, l'un à sa droite et l'autre à sa gauche.
Then two robbers are crucified with Him, one on the right hand and one on the left,
39 Les passants le blasphémaient, remuant la tête
and those passing by kept slandering Him, wagging their heads,
40 et disant: « Toi qui détruis le temple et le rebâtis en trois jours, sauve-toi toi-même! Si tu es le Fils de Dieu, descends de la croix! »
and saying, “You that are throwing down the temple, and in three days building [it], save Yourself; if You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
41 De même, les principaux sacrificateurs, se moquant des scribes, des pharisiens et des anciens, dirent:
And in like manner also the chief priests mocking, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 « Il a sauvé les autres, mais il ne peut se sauver lui-même. S'il est le roi d'Israël, qu'il descende maintenant de la croix, et nous croirons en lui.
“He saved others; He is not able to save Himself! If He is King of Israel, let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe Him;
43 Il a confiance en Dieu. Que Dieu le délivre maintenant, s'il le veut, car il a dit: « Je suis le Fils de Dieu ».
He has trusted on God, let Him now deliver Him if He wants Him, because He said, I am [the] Son of God”;
44 Les brigands aussi, qui ont été crucifiés avec lui, lui ont jeté le même opprobre.
with the same also the robbers, who were crucified with Him, were reproaching Him.
45 Or, depuis la sixième heure, il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays jusqu'à la neuvième heure.
And from the sixth hour darkness came over all the land to the ninth hour,
46 Vers la neuvième heure, Jésus cria d'une voix forte, en disant: « Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani? » C'est-à-dire: « Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné? »
and about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a great voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” That is, “My God, My God, why did You forsake Me?”
47 Quelques-uns de ceux qui se tenaient là, l'ayant entendu, dirent: « Cet homme appelle Élie. »
And certain of those standing there having heard, said, “He calls Elijah”;
48 Aussitôt, l'un d'eux courut prendre une éponge, la remplit de vinaigre, la posa sur un roseau et lui donna à boire.
and immediately, one of them having run, and having taken a sponge, having filled [it] with vinegar, and having put [it] on a reed, was giving Him to drink,
49 Les autres dirent: « Laisse-le. Voyons si Élie viendra le sauver. »
but the rest said, “Let alone, let us see if Elijah comes—about to save Him.”
50 Jésus cria encore d'une voix forte, et rendit l'esprit.
And Jesus having again cried with a great voice, yielded the spirit;
51 Voici, le voile du temple s'est déchiré en deux, du haut en bas. La terre trembla et les rochers se fendirent.
and behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
52 Les sépulcres s'ouvrirent, et beaucoup de corps de saints qui s'étaient endormis ressuscitèrent.
and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the holy ones who have fallen asleep, arose,
53 Et, sortant des sépulcres après sa résurrection, ils entrèrent dans la ville sainte et apparurent à beaucoup de gens.
and having come forth out of the tombs after His rising, they went into the holy city, and appeared to many.
54 Or le centurion et ceux qui étaient avec lui et qui regardaient Jésus, voyant le tremblement de terre et ce qui se passait, furent saisis de terreur et dirent: « Vraiment, c'était le Fils de Dieu! »
And the centurion, and those with him watching Jesus, having seen the earthquake, and the things that were done, were exceedingly afraid, saying, “Truly this was God’s Son.”
55 Il y avait là plusieurs femmes qui regardaient de loin, et qui avaient suivi Jésus depuis la Galilée, pour le servir.
And there were there many women beholding from afar, who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him,
56 Parmi elles se trouvaient Marie de Magdala, Marie, mère de Jacques et de Joses, et la mère des fils de Zébédée.
among whom was Mary the Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and of Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
57 Le soir venu, arriva un homme riche d'Arimathée, nommé Joseph, qui était aussi le disciple de Jésus.
And evening having come, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who also himself was discipled to Jesus,
58 Cet homme alla trouver Pilate et demanda le corps de Jésus. Pilate ordonna qu'on lui remette le corps.
he having gone near to Pilate, asked for himself the body of Jesus; then Pilate commanded the body to be given back.
59 Joseph prit le corps, l'enveloppa dans un linge propre
And having taken the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean linen,
60 et le déposa dans son tombeau neuf, qu'il avait taillé dans le roc. Puis il roula une grande pierre contre l'entrée du tombeau, et s'en alla.
and laid it in his new tomb that he hewed in the rock, and having rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, he went away;
61 Marie-Madeleine était là, avec l'autre Marie, assise en face du tombeau.
now Mary the Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the grave.
62 Le lendemain du jour de la préparation, les chefs des prêtres et les pharisiens s'assemblèrent auprès de Pilate,
And on the next day that is after the Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
63 et dirent: « Seigneur, nous nous souvenons de ce que ce séducteur a dit quand il vivait encore: « Après trois jours, je ressusciterai ».
saying, “Lord, we have remembered that this deceiver said while yet living, After three days I rise;
64 Ordonne donc que le tombeau soit mis en sûreté jusqu'au troisième jour, de peur que ses disciples ne viennent la nuit l'enlever et ne disent au peuple: « Il est ressuscité des morts »; et la dernière tromperie sera pire que la première. »
command, then, the grave to be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples, having come by night, may steal Him away, and may say to the people, He rose from the dead, and the last deceit will be worse than the first.”
65 Pilate leur dit: « Vous avez une garde. Allez, sécurisez-le autant que vous le pouvez. »
And Pilate said to them, “You have a guard, go away, make [it] secure—as you have known”;
66 Ils allèrent donc avec la garde et sécurisèrent le tombeau, en scellant la pierre.
and they, having gone, made the grave secure, having sealed the stone, together with the guard.
