Marc 12
1 Il se mit à leur parler en paraboles. « Un homme planta une vigne, l'entoura d'une haie, creusa une fosse pour le pressoir, construisit une tour, la loua à un fermier et s'en alla dans un autre pays.
Then He began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard—put a hedge around it, dug a wine trough, built a tower—rented it to farmers and went on a journey.
2 Le moment venu, il envoya un serviteur chez le fermier pour lui demander sa part du fruit de la vigne.
At the proper time he sent a slave to the farmers, that he might receive from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.
3 On le prit, on le battit et on le renvoya à vide.
But they took him, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
4 Il leur envoya de nouveau un autre serviteur; ils lui jetèrent des pierres, le blessèrent à la tête et le renvoyèrent honteusement traité.
Again he sent another slave to them, and that one they wounded in the head by stoning, and sent him away shamefully treated.
5 Il en envoya encore un autre, et ils le tuèrent, ainsi que beaucoup d'autres, battant les uns et tuant les autres.
Again he sent another, and him they killed; and many others, beating some and killing some.
6 Il lui restait un fils bien-aimé, qu'il envoya le dernier, en disant: « Ils respecteront mon fils ».
Finally, still having his one beloved son, he even sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
7 Mais les paysans dirent entre eux: « C'est lui l'héritier. Venez, tuons-le, et l'héritage sera à nous.
But those farmers said to one another: ‘This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and the inheritance will be ours.’
8 Ils le prirent, le tuèrent, et le chassèrent de la vigne.
So they took him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
9 Que fera donc le maître de la vigne? Il viendra faire périr les vignerons, et il donnera la vigne à d'autres.
“What therefore will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those farmers, and give the vineyard to others.
10 N'avez-vous même pas lu cette Écriture? « La pierre que les bâtisseurs ont rejetée a été nommé à la tête du coin.
Have you not even read this Scripture: ‘The stone that the builders rejected, is the very one that became the cornerstone;
11 Cela vient de l'Éternel. C'est merveilleux à nos yeux »?
this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
12 Ils cherchaient à s'emparer de lui, mais ils craignaient la foule, car ils savaient qu'il avait prononcé la parabole contre eux. Ils le laissèrent et s'en allèrent.
So they started looking for a way to arrest Him, because they knew He had spoken the parable against them, but they were in fear of the crowd. Then they left Him and went away.
13 Ils envoyèrent vers lui quelques-uns des pharisiens et des hérodiens, afin qu'ils le piègent par des paroles.
Then they sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to Him, in order to trap Him with a question.
14 Lorsqu'ils furent arrivés, ils lui posèrent cette question: « Maître, nous savons que tu es honnête et que tu ne t'inclines devant personne; car tu n'as de parti pris pour personne, mais tu enseignes vraiment la voie de Dieu. Est-il licite de payer l'impôt à César, ou non?
Upon arriving they said to Him: “Teacher, we know that you are honest—you do not ‘protect’ anyone, because you do not consider the position of people, but teach the way of God in truth—is it right to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
15 Doit-on donner, ou ne pas donner? » Mais lui, connaissant leur hypocrisie, leur dit: « Pourquoi m'éprouvez-vous? Apportez-moi un denier, que je le voie. »
Should we pay, or should we not?” But knowing their hypocrisy, He said to them: “Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius to look at.”
16 Ils l'ont apporté. Il leur dit: « A qui appartient cette image et cette inscription? » Ils lui ont dit: « C'est à César. »
So they did, and He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar's.”
17 Jésus leur répondit: « Rendez à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu. » Ils s'émerveillaient beaucoup devant lui.
Then Jesus answered them by saying, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they marveled at Him.
18 Des sadducéens, qui disent qu'il n'y a pas de résurrection, vinrent le trouver. Ils l'interrogèrent en disant:
Then some Sadducees came to Him—they say there is no resurrection—and asked Him, saying:
19 « Maître, Moïse nous a écrit: 'Si le frère d'un homme meurt et laisse une femme derrière lui, sans laisser d'enfants, que son frère prenne sa femme et engendre une descendance pour son frère'.
“Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man's brother dies and leaves behind a wife, but no children, then his brother should take that wife and raise up offspring for his brother.
20 Il y avait sept frères. Le premier prit une femme, et mourut sans laisser de descendance.
Well there were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.
21 Le second la prit, et mourut, ne laissant aucun enfant derrière lui. Le troisième fit de même;
So the second one took her, and died; and neither did he leave any offspring. The third likewise.
22 et les sept autres la prirent et ne laissèrent pas d'enfants. La dernière de toutes les femmes mourut aussi.
In fact, all seven took her, and left no offspring. Last of all the woman also died.
23 A la résurrection, quand ils ressusciteront, de qui sera-t-elle la femme? Car les sept l'ont eue pour femme. »
In the resurrection, whenever they may rise, whose wife will she be?—because all seven had her as wife.”
24 Jésus leur répondit: « N'est-ce pas parce que vous êtes dans l'erreur, ne connaissant ni les Écritures ni la puissance de Dieu?
Then in answer Jesus said to them: “You do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God—is this not the reason that you err?
25 Car, lorsqu'ils ressusciteront d'entre les morts, ils ne se marieront pas et ne seront pas donnés en mariage, mais ils seront comme des anges dans le ciel.
Whenever people rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in the heavens.
26 Mais pour ce qui est de la résurrection des morts, n'avez-vous pas lu dans le livre de Moïse, au sujet du buisson, comment Dieu lui a parlé en disant: « Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob »?
But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
27 Il n'est pas le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants. Vous vous trompez donc lourdement. »
He is not the God of dead people, but the God of living ones. You are therefore badly mistaken.”
28 Un des scribes, qui les entendait discuter ensemble, sachant qu'il leur avait bien répondu, lui demanda: « Quel est le plus grand de tous les commandements? »
Then one of the scribes came on the scene, heard them arguing, realized that He had answered them well, and asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
29 Jésus répondit: « La plus grande est: Écoute, Israël, le Seigneur notre Dieu, le Seigneur est unique.
Jesus answered him: “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord your (pl) God, the Lord is one;
30 Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta pensée et de toute ta force.' Tel est le premier commandement.
and you (sg) shall love the Lord your (sg) God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
31 Le second est ainsi conçu: « Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même ». Il n'y a pas d'autre commandement plus grand que ceux-là. »
And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
32 Le scribe lui dit: « En vérité, maître, tu as bien dit qu'il est unique et qu'il n'y en a pas d'autre que lui;
So the scribe said to Him: “Well said, teacher; you said truly that He is one, and there is no other except He.
33 et l'aimer de tout son cœur, de toute son intelligence, de toute son âme et de toute sa force, et aimer son prochain comme soi-même, est plus important que tous les holocaustes et tous les sacrifices. »
And to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the soul and with all the strength, and to love the neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
34 Voyant qu'il répondait avec sagesse, Jésus lui dit: « Tu n'es pas loin du Royaume de Dieu. » Après cela, personne n'osa plus lui poser de questions.
Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared ask Him any question.
35 Jésus répondit, comme il enseignait dans le temple: Comment se fait-il que les scribes disent que le Christ est le fils de David?
Then, teaching in the temple, Jesus reacted by saying: “How is it that the scribes say that the Messiah is David's son?
36 Car David lui-même a dit dans l'Esprit Saint, Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur, « Assieds-toi à ma droite, jusqu'à ce que je fasse de vos ennemis le marchepied de vos pieds. »
Because David himself said by the Holy Spirit: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.”’
37 C'est pourquoi David lui-même l'appelle Seigneur, comment pourrait-il être son fils? » Les gens du peuple l'écoutaient avec plaisir.
Therefore David himself calls Him ‘Lord’; so how can He be his son?” The large crowd listened to Him with pleasure.
38 Dans son enseignement, il leur disait: « Méfiez-vous des scribes, qui aiment à se promener en longues robes, à se faire saluer sur les places publiques,
Then He said to them in His teaching: “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes and to get greetings in the market places,
39 à avoir les meilleurs sièges dans les synagogues et les meilleures places dans les fêtes,
and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;
40 ceux qui dévorent les maisons des veuves, et qui, pour faire semblant, font de longues prières. Ceux-là recevront une plus grande condamnation. »
who devour the houses of widows, while praying long and loud for a show. These will receive a more severe judgment.”
41 Jésus s'assit en face du trésor et vit comment la foule jetait de l'argent dans le trésor. Beaucoup de riches en jetaient beaucoup.
Then Jesus sat down opposite the offering chest and started watching how the people were depositing money into the chest. Many rich people put in large amounts.
42 Une pauvre veuve vint, et elle jeta deux petites pièces d'airain, qui équivalent à une pièce de quadrans.
A certain poor widow also came and put in two ‘lepta’, which equal a ‘quadrans’.
43 Il appela ses disciples et leur dit: « Je vous le dis en vérité, cette pauvre veuve a donné plus que tous ceux qui donnent au trésor,
So summoning His disciples He said to them: “I tell you assuredly that this poor widow has put more in the chest than all these contributors;
44 car tous ont donné de leur superflu, mais elle, de sa pauvreté, a donné tout ce qu'elle avait pour vivre. »
because they all gave out of their excess, but she, out of her lack, put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”
